Although none of these did any vehicles justice on the track (where obviously the super cars would dominate, especially in braking) it was really neat to see how a 12 year old R6 compares to the acceleration of a few super cars & sport cars. I also think that I could have beaten the Huracan and the R8 from digs too after doing one with a GTR (As long as I got a good dig and pegged the RPMS high). 2008 Yamaha YZF-R6, ECU flash by BAUCE racing, full TBR exhaust, K&N air filter, 20,000 miles on the bike, valves adjusted to within spec at 17,000, 0W-40 PENNZOIL Ultra Platinum oil, double bubble CLEAR zero gravity windscreen, 520 conversion on OEM sprocket sizes, original clutch, RK chain, 93 pump gas, OEM mirrors, OEM fairings, Conti-motion 190 rear and 120 front tires, rear fender delete, 145 lb skilled rider, clutch-less shifting at different points, about 90 degrees F that day.
Legend has it he was on his way to work and he still made it in on time

Just got a 2018 R6 last summer. Brand new. Lovin how it can seem to beat these super cars in short pulls. awesome! Still afraid to take mine over 10k.scary as hell. Just under 500 miles put on it.

Yeah the 2017 Yamaha R6 is fast enough for me. Next bike for sure, ECU Flash, and exhaust. Loving the little 2020 R3 for commuting and longer rides.

it's a supersport. And superbike's are 1000cc either between 800cc and 1200cc.

Makes me miss my R6 so much but being from a tropical climate and crappy roads it was not ideal for me. Engine heat was such a major issue for me. My MT09 doesn't even comes close to the engine heat that pushes.

When i was a little kid i thought that sport bikes were cool. Just that. When i grew up i realized that the rabbit hole is deep and bikes are way beyond that.
It's pure VIOLENT power. No additional weight such as the one on the car... not a lot of horsepower... and with 120HP you can SMOKE performance cars that cost quarter million dollars.

@@thegoldbarron9504 I've seen some of his content and I know first hand experience on the comparison between an 05 R6 and 05 600RR. My college roommates had one each and we would run them all the time and even switch riders. The R6 was consistently faster everytime. You could feel when riding too. The 600RR did feel better balanced to me, but that's just my opinion.
@@thegoldbarron9504 I just checked and yeah the 08-09 R6 has more HP than any other year and a lot more than the GXR600 and 600RR. I havent been keeping up with the bike numbers over the years but I'm shocked the 600 class seems to have plateaued for the last few years in performance with the 08-09 R6 seemingly the best performer or certain year ZX6Rs. Crazy.

And I’m not sure where y’all got your numbers from. 07 and 08 CBR’s are no joke. Flash them with a full exhaust and upgraded air filter as well it’s a different animal.

Wonder how an 08 R6 would've done. One that is in pristine condition..think they had the most power at around 130+? Up to 2016 it was 126hp.
It is an 08, also that’s crank hp, wheel hp is around 110
127 for 06+, then 131 for 08+ and 118 for 2017+ if I'm not mistaken ...

600’s have nice speed but ultimately they’re slow when he really comes down to it… seen a 911 turbo Porsche gap 3 600’s on the highway at the same time… I was on my 1000cc and I had him by 2 car lengths at least. Couldn’t tell cause he was behind me lol

Bikes were stock except for 2 or 3 inches lowered for the strip and slip on exhausts that added between 1-3hp.
I believe ZX636 and R6 were the only two that went just under 10s.
Any strong running modern 600 is capable of running mid 10s with a good rider that knows how to launch hard and shift.
That's how capable 600s can be in the right hands.
I will probably upload that magazine test on my channel because many people argue and say that 600s are slow.

Thê R6 is plenty fast enough for rippin' around on the street, its not as heavy as the R1 and is a little more nimble which is à blessing in traffic also the power is not as instant as R1 therefore its a bit forgiving on slippery roads, gravel in the corners etc. No qûestion its the King of the 600's
