Center diff , spur gear ratio and shims. If you punch it from a dead stop often it’s impossible to prevent the gears from chewing up .

@@RCKnockout I forgot to mention, some can prolly contest. The bulkheads if you screw them down to tight it can make a space 2-6mm’s where the meet in the center on the bottom side . I believe this could cause left to right movement with the diff as you drive maybe aluminum bulkheads would help with not spreading apart like the softer plastic .

When you fill the diffs your supposed to get rid of as much air as possible, I usually directly inject into slots etc. Or take a gear out to get underneath then put it back, I also find spinning the gears helps to move fluid underneath ALOT
Also it is going to be hard to turn for the first bit but it's also a small shaft with little to hold too

Do you run on 3S? My MERV is like 13 years old or so. Back when I first got it, I did replace the diffs once. After running a few runs on 3s and doing standing backflips and such. @@Todd_G_FPV . Let me just ask this. I see lots of old posts for old MERVS saying shim the diffs. I have disassembled the disc several times, adding different fluids for different results. I'm just not having any diff problems. I don't see the need to shim the diffs. Everything in there fits well. I even bought the shims, but don't really want to put in them in there since everything seems to be working fine. Why do I need to shim the diffs in 2021? What symptoms need fixed that the shims will fix currently on newer models with newer bell housing? Just asking because you mentioned it. Thanks.

My diffs obliterated themselves during my 1st run with my new motor even though i shimmed them. To be fair its a 2850kv 3670 sized can running 4s lol. Its meant for a car literally twice the length of the revo. So I got the hot racing diffs and hardened gears like 6 months ago, but i have been dreading installing them because i have the t bone racing chassis and its a pain in the butt to line it back up after taking it off lol. There are these little metal pieces that you basically have to ballance upright, all at the same time and then somehow stop them from tipping over while you install the skidplate. Its a nightmare lol. Its just so many extra steps and replacing the diffs is kind of a pain as it is lol. I basically have to disassemble the whole thing to get in there as it is.
