Sophie Monk in Las Vegas

Sophie Monk (born 14 December 1979) is an English-Australian pop singer, actress and model. She was once a member of female pop group Bardot and has since established a solo career with the release of an album, Calendar Girl. More recently, she turned her hand to acting, appearing in films such as Date Movie and Click. Sophie Monk has since established herself in Hollywood. Although most of her roles have been reasonably small, she did play Marilyn Monroe for a high-budget telemovie The Mystery Of Natalie Wood (2004) and starred in the music video "Always" for rock group blink-182. In February 2006, she starred in her debut feature role as the flirtatious and seductive 'best man' Andy in the spoof comedy Date Movie. In 2007 Sophie made her American television debut in the Golden Globe Award-Winning HBO Comedy series Entourage in the episode "The Day Fuckers". She also had a small role portraying Cynthia Rose in Sex and Death 101. In September 2008 Dark Castle Entertainment announced Sophie was to portray the role of Alexa in The Hills Run Red. Filming took place towards the start of 2009 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The film premiered at Horror film festival UK Frightfest. The film was released Straight-to-DVD on September 29, 2009. Despite positive buzz over the script, the film was negatively received. Monk's performance received mixed reviews. In 2009 Sophie announced to MTV Australia she has signed on for the Comedy film Spring Break '83 portraying the role of Brittney. Filming took place in March, 2009 in Los Angeles. The film stars Jamie Kennedy, Raviv Ullman and John Goodman. A preview premiered at the 2009Sundance Film Festival. The film which suffered salary issues and distribution problems is yet to have a confirmed release date. Sophie will star alongside Cameron Richardson in the indie Comedy film Hard Breakers portraying Lindsay Greene.
