Yes great practical advice and demonstration. I coach teenagers so your comments about younger kids are really helpful. Thanks for the vid!
Of course Galvin. Very important for the little ones to understand this
Thanks for the tips
I consider myself mainly an attacking defender - what they say ig libero
I sometimes get too many nutmegs and rely heavily on my physical strength but somehow I feel defending is just not abt strength and I need to intercept the ball more cleanly and need to connect to offense instead of just clearing it out
Thank you
Keep going man. Love the videos

Coach, what is the best way to block a shot in a 1v1 situation? It probably varies from situation to situation. The idea is to recover the defense as soon as possible in case it is not a shot to the goal.
You got it. You answered you own question there. We want to slow down the defense as much as possible to give time for teammates to regroup. However, if it’s to choose a safe tactics, it’d be to line up your body with the player’s dominant foot.
The probability of the playing taking a shot with a dominant foot is really high, so ideally we want to avoid that option. Also the distance to the defender can make a lot of difference too. The smaller the space the player has to shot, the harder will be to try it.
But as you said, it goes from situation to situation. It’d depend on each player’s you’re going against.
I have two more questions: one related to prevent the wall pass in a 1 vs 1 situation (No zone defense). It is my opinion that a defender should ALWAYS stay in the defense side preventing the attacking player from moving forward. I see a lot of passing situations where defenders let the attacking player to pass them and that allows the wall pass to happen. What is your opinion about it? Another question is an attacking player in his strong side and the defender is basically pushing him to go to his strong side like in the video. I understand that the defender does not want him to take the middle of the court but can the defender push him to go to the weak side? Decisions, decisions, decisions.......Coach we need PART 2........Thanks for answering my questions!!!
@@chimpun1979 It's very hard to say what would be the correct decision because there are way too many constraints involved in the game. But definitely it's better for a defender to try to avoid the wall pass. I've actually see a few defenders step back away from the receiving player, allowing that player to receive free, to either turn or pass back.
The other question is very relative. Ideally we want to push players to the outside of the field, but in some cases, it'd be better to let the player inside, given their weak foot. Imagine you facing Robben on his left side. It'd much rather let him go to the middle than to his strong foot, or the outside. I hope those make sense. My pleasure to help out. Let me know if you have any other question.

@@CoachThiago basiclly how to improve yourself and one more thing how to stay calm under pressure of a defender
Me thinking i’m a bad defender 😢
when i was playing we were wining 4:0 but the coach put me out to rest after that we lost 5:4 😅 it’s just because he put me out and then when i came back in i was so mad that i dislocated someone’s shoulder after that the match was canceled and no one won either lose
Gotta control those emotions when playing. But for sure one player coming out can make a significant difference, especially if the players coming in are not on the same tactical level
But why was the match cancelled though? What was alleged?
We want more tutorials pls
We owe everyone more content. We have been working on some nice new content that will hopefully come on soon. Thanks for the support
Is sliding tackle a good thing?
There’s mainly 2 types of sliding tackle. One called a slide intervention, in Portuguese called Deslizamento, and the sliding tackle.
The difference is that on a sliding intervention, the player is not sliding towards a defender but instead, the player slides in front of the ball, trying to avoid a shot on goal or to simply recover the ball. This one is good and we actually teach players how to do and is mostly allowed in matches.
The other, the sliding tackle, is a more dangerous play and usually not allowed by referees. This one is a sliding tackle at the player with ball possession.
Hope that makes sense and clarifies the question
Thnx
