If I left, they'd have to *beg* (and pay dearly) to have me back. I have given years of top tier performance and blood sweat and tears, and I have watched countless others get promotions, including mediocrity. The whole ordeal has caused me to despise the entire industry of the career path I once loved, actually.

this is the time to leave. I had a 15 year career and quit because of workplace issues. As a medical professional, there was really no promotions to get, but the benefits got crappier, the workload got heavier. It became more 'get em in and get em out' type situation with almost no breaks for us workers. I got a job with another facility and I am treated better, work on my own time, have an assistant, and get paid very well. Take the leap!!

Agree with you 100%. I gave everything I had to the last company (15 hour days and weekends) and it still wasn't good enough. And everyone was doing it! The company admitted that they would push and push and push, and they do that so colleagues try to outcompete and outperform each other. It's disgusting. Before I left, I told my director that it was too much and I had hit a breaking point, and he did nothing, but he added to the workload. I finally had a mental breakdown and quit. They had the audacity to ask me back a few months later. I will never go back to the grind of working for someone else to be their b*tch. Never again.

I went back to a company I left but only after they agreed to pay me more than double my last salary. Then I used that pay to springboard to the current job I have, which is so much better in pay and culture. I would say if you do go back have a plan on how doing so will improve your career

Corporate is generally horrible that's the problem. Hard to not get a toxic boss / environment or not feel generally repressed. People are looking at the wealth of opportunities elsewhere, and if they have any opportunity, jumping to preserve their own sanity. I have boomeranged a couple of times in my career. Once it worked well and the other time it didn't last long. On several occasions I have ended up working for or with people from previous jobs in the area, so it's always a good idea to leave on good terms and not to burn a bridge. I like to say, "Don't burn bridges. You never know when you might need to cross them again."
Thank you for your content. I have been finding a lot of good advice in your posts.

I work in academia with an administrative and faculty appointment. We have not gotten raises in 5 years. Consequently, people have resigned - excellent people. These people were extremely knowledgeable. Let me tell you, Career Bestie . . . This college has contacted 4 people that I know about, offering them higher salaries to return. When they turned them down, they offered consultant positions. Anyway, no one has returned. If an organization truly values you, they will pay you what you are worth BEFORE you think about leaving.

Hi Jennifer 🙋‍♂️ - I think those who left a job & have impeccable credentials & fulfilled their obligations to a company should be welcomed back. But if they left with any questions about their reason they should not be rehired. In general , it's best to move forward not step back. No reason to rehash the past , create the future. That's my opinion 😃

My situation is, I’m leaving my company because I feel like they are not allowing me to grow and putting me in a “box” because I’m really good at my current position. I’ve tried to interview for the promotion I want twice but they keep giving it to other people (who, in all fairness do have more experience than I). But each time I don’t get the job, they tell me how great I am at my current role and it just makes me feel like I’m never going to move up and grow. It’s going to be a hard decision, but I think I’m going to do a local travel assignment for the same kind of company in this area for the monetary incentive. I hope I don’t regret it and I’m not going to leave on bad terms with my current company, but I also don’t want to stay at a place that I feel like I can’t grow in

They moved to unlimited PTO, so I can’t get paid out anyway also live in a state where they don’t need to do that. It starts next week. This video is accurate. I had finally found the job Ive always wanted. I got a job at a dirt speedway. Doing maintenance, meaning anything that keeps the place looking good. Mowing, painting, moving dirt, replacing bleacher boards, checking signs, blowing all the bleachers....everything to do with the property.....one Friday I was working with the track prep guy....hes know for a attitude. I was moving dirt to our small go kart track. The track prep guy was in a hurry to grade the track. I wasn't able to get the dirt on the track fast enough.....He YELLED LEAVE.....I left, didnt work the kart race that night and the main race Saturday night. I texted the owner, was told I could still be on the safety team which we argeeed one when I got hired. But basically said it didnt work out.....I very upset....Ive done more than anyone from that speedway. Ive spent a lot of my own money....Im 60 and would like to go back and enjoy the time Ive was working there...thanks...so for the long talk....

The salaries that companies are offering are laughable! I've been on a number of interviews where what is needed as "qualifications' are high, and the pay is not. When I mentioned this, I received the typical "well that's the salary and its not negotiable". If the reasons you left haven't changed, why return to the same problems?

It's been a well known secret that to make more money, you have to leave a job and come back. I did this in the mid 2000's. It was not by design. I left to pursue a travel job, then when I came back to my hometown for family issues I got a job with the same company. The supervisor told me when I interviewed to ask for the top pay, since they only gave small raises annually. So in two years that I was gone, I would have only made about 2 dollars more if I had stayed, and being rehired, I got a 5 dollar 'raise'.

Four months into it, several panic attacks and a self request for a demotion got me a chunk of wage rise plus another major management challenges. What should i do i left a remote job to take a job that was different and only paid a little extra, great benefits. But the department was disorganized and horrible onboarding. The job didn’t workout for me. So, i got a new one and by the fourth day I didn’t want to go in to the office. They overwhelmed me so much. They pay more but they have old systems. Which makes doing the work confusing, training is all over the place. Its not remote and they dont like anyone talking in the office, u cant use ur cell and it cant be on desk, if ur late u cant make up time. Instead they take the time from ur PTO. Which i HATE. I hate they are not flexible at all. So, i want to go back to my old job if they would have me. The job is flexible and remote. They just pay less and dont have the best health insurance. What should i do?

    I. why did you leave your job & are the problems resolved?
    II. Evaluate the job offer.
III. Do not go back to your old job out of resignation regret.

Your camera angle too centered. It divides the attention for your audience. Instead of directly centering yourself in the camera frame, move the camera slightly left or right to add interest and relax your audience.

C Paul maybe they did know what it's like and didn't like it. Went to school and worked hard so they would be well off. You shouldn't take the incentive away for people to do better. What we need is flat tax for everyone so there is an incentive to make more without paying more of a percentage in tax.
