    Im not a stranger to swaps and bigger turbos and stuff, but Ive learned by now its all about the power band. Lots of power is useless if it cant be put to the ground, or it happens within a 1.5k RPM range that forces you to shift constantly once you're in gear. But I still love the simplicity of the 2010+ Camaros.. i just wish you had more exterior shots, drivebys, etc...i want to hear that thing WOT driving by!

    • @gordocarbo
      @gordocarbo 11 днів тому +3

      Any bigger poweered single or TT cars Ive driven suck. Not useable power unless you start at 60? And feels like a turd with no boost......and they just dont hold up over time, always some stupid problem, ususally heat/head gaskets.
      Ill take cubes, NA all day

      @@gordocarbo Yeah, my 2016 focus ST has 500whp. The turbo isnt massive (BNR3071 on E60 @36psi), but its a good size for a 2.0L engine and much bigger than the little K03 it came with from Ford. With my fuel upgrades and other parts, Im maxing it out but it has a good power band..despite a little lag vs a stock/smaller turbo Focus. I can build boost at about 4k RPM all the way through 7200 and generally try to do 3rd gear at around 50 or 4th gear around 70mph...and it just pulls like a train. Ive raced 650whp WRX STi's that can pull on me but in little spurts..it sounds awesome, and does beat me, but its not 'fun' where its just a massive amount of lag, an instantly huge boost in power, then repeat. Definitely not good on a track where as mine is still track worthy or cutting up the back roads at full tilt.

    • @Localyhated
      @Localyhated 16 днів тому +4

      It is an LS just the baby LS. 4.8 ,5.3 ,6.0,6.2 and I might be leaving one or two off but it's still a LS motor . 4.8 came out of a base model Silverado that had the V8 option. Back then and before 2010 even ,gm use to give you a pleather of engine options to choose from. Now you get 2 or three . Dodge only gives you one option and that's whatever they threw into it from factory and Ford has to keep making different Ecoboost engines cause the first half of them sucked when they came out. I'm not even to pleased with Chevy putting a 4 cylinder turbo in a truck but gear heads make me think wrong sometimes so im sure it will only be a matter of time before we get a video on a 2024 Chevy Silverado 4cyl turbo turned sleeper that makes like 700 hp

      @midnight347 l know guys who buy good used LS 4.8s at the junk yard for 700-900 dollars complete put a turbo on it and if the motor gets smoked they buy another one these engines stock can take a lot of abuse a friend years back had a 2002 Silverado 5.3 with head work new valves a LS1 camshaft and and valve springs otherwise a 100,000 mile engine he bracket raced it and was whacking it with a 150 hit of nitrous over 80 times and it still ran good his daily driver back 10 years ago try that with a new GM target 350 engine see what happens

    when I was a kid I thought those cars looked super cool and really wanted one but now as an adult I went to a dealer and sat in a few and the garbage visibility just makes it feel so claustrophobic even in the convertibles, definitely a "don't meet your heroes" kinda car for me the lack of visibility and the awful steering wheel were deal-breakers for me

Its bored to 5.8 and has slightly better oem cams and a betrer stock blower. Heads are the same and the trans is too other than the taller gearing for 1st and 6th in 13.

    I always wanted to love those Camaro. When you look at them, i like them. But i really hate driving them. The windows are too high. It feels like i am in a coffin. The visibility is not great, you sit too low, and i cant put my left elbow in the window opening? F that.
    P.S. It was a souped up SS that i drove. Engine and mechanics were great. Just not that car. You feel trapped.

    • @midnight347

      @LaloVazquez-nj7pc exactly idk why everyone thinks it's so cheap to swap it into a mustang. Might as well get a 351 and build it to a 408 if you want a pushrod. I just hate how everyone puts the wrong brand engine into the big 3 I think Ford should have Ford gm have gm and dodge have dodge power plant. To swap an ls into a mustang and do all the stuff you gotta do to make it make and take power you could have just got a ford engine.

    The reason I don't have a Camaro is because I like the 14-15 best in looks but 5th gen interior is so bad. The 6th gen is also such a better car in all aspects aside from looks. I couldn't win regardless of which Camaro I chose. That's why I ended up with an S550. There was no choice between s550 and s197 for me personally. Plus coyote.

    • @MrDerekRobinson
      @MrDerekRobinson 14 днів тому

      @904Saleen i suspect diffrent. It wouldn't even need building the way 4.8s come from the factory lol. I could see the cam addition, but that's about it. It can handle 800hp on a stock bottom end. Building it seems pointless...... unless compression is raised. With pistons...... that's often the case. That turns into head work being done or replaced.... you end up with bigger cubic inches without the need for a stroker kit. Most people don't consider how simply rods require head work and you get more cubes that way inadvertently
