Good audio and video quality. I'm at minute 10 and I have no idea what the end goal of this video is. What's this automation gonna do for me? Why is this awesome? Hopefully I get to the end and see it.
@@StephenGPope Fair enough, but I don't have a team. The title tricks me into watching a 20 minute video explaining how to do something that's irrelevant to me. I suppose it brings in more views than a more descriptive title. Unfortunately I do realize it's a result of what UA-cam rewards. The question is how would I know which one of your videos that are titled "Automate 99% of your content workflow" would be relevant to me. Perhaps 1 out 10, perhaps 2 or 3.

Great insights! Automating content workflows can be a game-changer. I've never utilized Airtable the way you have, I'll have to check it out and add it to my tech stack :) thanks Stephen
Great Video! thanks for doing this. noob question here....do you have this setup as a template, then duplicate it and rename as new clients/projects happen?
you can use make.com for sure -- I'm using it more and more but there are some things make.com isn't as good at. I havent used whalesync but it looks interesting, maybe for a future project!
Could this not be done by using Google sheets instead? Is the big difference the feature where you can move rows to different sheets based on their values?
you could probably replicate this example, but you can't get much more advanced, I went pretty extreme with it, watch this --> ua-cam.com/video/k44lmJjFHM4/v-deo.html
it depends on what plan you have on Zapier, 1-2 minutes if you have their premium plan, can be as long as 15 minutes. I use frame.io as a new inobx now and that is instant.
WHAT IF YOU'RE THROWING MORE THAN 1 PIECE OF RAW FOOTAGE INTO YOUR INBOX? I have an events company and my team will throw sometimes 50+ pieces of raw footage from an event into a Google Drive folder. In your example, you're only adding 1 piece of raw footage and I wonder whether you'd change anything to your workflow if you were throwing 50+ pieces of raw footage into your inbox. Thank you. Really valuable!
Any suggestions on how to bunch multiple videos from a single project together? This set up works best for a single file at a time but I don't want a new folder for each individual video.
there are some strategic reasons why I do that (because you might also have copy or an image that is associated with the video) but if you don't want a folder just don't create the folder = ) You should join my community academy.sgplabs.com we're tackling these issues every day. Would love to have you.
after uploading my test video #2, it doesn't come up in my Airtable :( for some reason it doesn't like a new file being throw in. i tried the original test video #1 file for a second time and it made a new content ID for it and new folder in Google Drive. any help would be greatly appreciate sir. appreciate you nonetheless
it's likely because the #2 file was created on your computer over 4 days ago. For some reason the Zap only triggers one files that were created within the last 4 days.
@@SaadKingsta you must upload videos with a created date < 4 days, no way around it unfortunately. practically this rarely happens on the day to day if you upload videos as they are created.
For every step I keep asking why are we choosing that, why are you doing that. Steps are clear but I don't understand why are you choosing them so if I wanted to change steps because I wanted to customize something for me, I would have no way lf doing so. Please consider explaining why you're doing the steps you're doing. It helps with learning vs coping and pasting.
@@StephenGPope of course! And we can't always accommodate everybody's learning styles so I completely get that. You can always assume a certain level of competency so you DON'T have to explain. That too is a valid option. In which case you might want to consider announcing that at the beginning of the video. You don't have to accommodate people like myself if that's not your natural way of teaching. It will lead to more niche audiences who gain the best value from you, most likely less churn in the backend too. You know how these things have knock-on effects, right?!
@@MsDoryLinda all I'm saying is -- this is one video of 1000+, I think you're right and I will continue to do better, but there is a lot more work that can be judged than this one video. this is not the sum of all my videos, explore and give your opinion on those as well.
@@StephenGPope absolutely 💯 I've watched a few of your videos cos I like your work and my observation is that you're so knowledgeable in what you do that it might not cross your mind to stop and explain the small stuff. I work with a lot of experts (I'm a Business/Organizational Psychologist) and it's common to have the curse of knowledge. This is a cognitive bias where a person who is so knowledgeable can't see the subject from the perspective of someone less informed or completely unfamiliar. From a few videos I have watched of you, you come across so experienced that it's likely that you miss seeing knowledge gaps other people might have. I personally don't think it's something to improve, I think it's possible that you skew to people who just have a bit more experience, that's all. Eg. I was watching your latest video about automated video captions, and a minute in, you mentioned the Google cloud console. That would have been a great place to quickly explain what it was before asking someone to get an account. OR you could mention at the beginning of the video that you assume someone already knows what Make.com, Google Drive, and Google cloud consoles are and you're not going to explain what they are or do It's just one example! I've watched videos that tell you they assume you know the tools and they aren't going to go into detail. I personally don't see anything wrong with that. It just sets the right expectations. I've also watched videos like this ua-cam.com/video/H0YRniHh2tg/v-deo.htmlsi=89vyDApxAB8KemQ6 that stops and explains what each app/step is and why they're choosing each option. It's just a different approach. Hope that makes sense!
