After sighting in at 60 feet, I could easily cover 5 shots with a nickel ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL ! Truly a pleasure to shoot! Scope was easy to adjust for eye relief. Only problem the varmints must have seen it delivered lol!Update: So impressed with shot groups at 30 yards I purchased a Hammers 3×9 with adjustable Objective scope! Now a true nail driver!
Here in 2024 STILL a Great Guide!!!! Thank you
I love you Reid you are the greatest spokesperson in these United States of America
You titled this video, "The Ultimate Ruger 10/22 Cleaning Video". After watching it, I would describe it as "The Ultimate Ruger 10/22 Cleaning Video". I can't believe how helpful and well produced this was! Excellent job!
My son received a Ruger 10/22 for his birthday and along with the fun of shooting comes the responsibility of cleaning and your video allowed him to do it all himself. I have passed this video along to my shooting club here in Michigan and it has been well accepted. Thank you for taking the time out to produce this.
I know I am three years late to the party, but...DUDE. Best 10/22 video I have ever seen. Good job.
I see some comments on here are years old. But being in the U.K. I bought the Ruger 10/22 saw the video and found it to be one of the best I have see. The disassembly of the trigger mechanism was brilliant, as I have always been a bit worried about taking it apart. Not any more. Thank you so much.
Forrest, this is the most well done video I've seen on Y'tube. The camera didn't matter but the lighting, tracking shots, audio recording, camera angles, editing, background music level, set-up, shot progression and completeness of instruction were worthy of a high-end production house...I produce videos for a living. Kudos and you have a bright future in the field if you so choose. Again, an amazing video...thank you.
He did an awesome job on this video. Clear verbal directions and well lighted video shot at the best angles and zoom.
now that's how a video should be done ... informative and yet simple in explanation, even the music was not annonying! .. Great job on putting this together - like the example of the unexpected launching of parts under tension .. a lesson for all.
THAT WAS THE BEST TRIGGER ASSEMBLY CLEANING VIDEO EVER!
Thank you - well done! ATB Rob
thanks again. I am a 1st time gun owner at 60. I have a 22/10. Its a nice gun, but I was very surprise how little information Ruger had on how to maintain their weapon. I had shot and cleaned bolt actions in 5th grade camp, but without this video I was lost in being able to breakdown and clean this simple rifle. Thanks again, cleaned up and shot well, even if get that bolt handle back on was a pain in....
I didn't grow up with guns and just bought my first 10/22! Awesome video man! Thank you for the wisdom
This is the most thorough 10/22 takedown video I’ve ever seen. Absolutely outstanding!! Thanks for posting.
Just followed this video while cleaning my 10/22 today. Did not do the trigger group but did everything else in the video. Was not looking forward to cleaning this gun until I saw how simple this vid made it. thanks so much for that. awesome filming too!
Excellent. Given the thousands of rounds expended, magazines need to be addressed. Best cleaning video I’ve seen for the 10/22. Thx.
No detail was left out of this video. I have cleaned my Ruger many times but for the first time I couldn't figure out why I couldn't put the trigger assembly back in. Your short note to make sure the bolt lock in the down position was the key to ending my frustration. Well done and thank you!
The Mechanolith really shines on this video, but the rest of the crew hold up their ends as well. This is the single best 10/22 maintenance video I know of, out of scores I've watched. Do some upgrade vids (triggers/bedding/barrels) with the same attention to detail and excellent photography, and I can see the whole crew on the red carpet at Cannes.
This is an excellent video. Very clear and concise! I never thought about using compressed air on the parts you shouldn't disassemble further. All the camera shots were clear and in sequential order. I just bought my first 10/22 today and now I see how easy it is to completely clean my gun and magazine. The magazine piece is excellent. I am saving this video.
I have a Ruger 10/22 still in the box that I bought about a year ago. It has never been fired. I am grateful for this video for that day when I do go out and shoot it. I plan to clean it before and after. Thanks for posting this! DO'
Fresh out of the box one of my 10/22 magazines would not load into my rifle. After watching this video I went and looked at the magazine and the rotary screw was not flush with magazine and it was loose. I tightened the rotary screw flush with magazine and loaded it into the rifle easily. Thank you for this video!
Very professionally filmed, edited, and presented for our viewing pleasure!
Truly an amazing job! 👍👍
This was an amazing guy cleaning tutorial. By far the best for the Ruger 10/22
I use this video almost every time I clean my 10/22 trigger assembly. What a useful video 100%
Best instructional video on the ruger by far. Wish I would have watched first.
I've referred back to this video four times now. I have to say this video is the most complete and straight forward I have come across for maintaining the Ruger 10/22.
I have four 10/22s, a custom 20" Bench Rest rifle that I built, a 16" Black Tactical carbine, a Tactical Braced 10" 22 Charger and 6" 22 Charger that I'm building from a new receiver and extra parts I have.
Thank you so much for making this video! Very easy to follow along with and helped me make it through my first gun-cleaning experience with minimal swearing. Great job!
Agreed, after 15 years of youtube gun videos, i have never commented. WoW man your a professor, good work Dr. 10/22
This video saved my bacon. I was cleaning the rifle and when I picked up the trigger assembly, a couple of pins fell off; basically, the trigger assembly disassembled itself right in my hands. Lucky this guy shows how to put it back together. There is a reason Ruger doesn't want you to mess with this thing.
This is one of the best gun cleaning videos I've seen. The up close shots are terrific! I just purchased my own Ruger 10/22 and I'm sure I will be watching this video again. Thanks!
Great tutorial on how to clean everything on your 10/22 in one complete video. Excellent job being thorough and well spoken. The pace of the video was just right as well. Easy to follow along and pause when necessary. Thank you!
No BS, straight to the point, clear, easy to understand.
Good video all over. trying to get a friend to buy a 10/22
Other utube vlogs should take note. If you are going to do an instructional video, this is how it is done! MOSTEST BESTEST !!! THANK YOU !
I just bought a 10/22 (my first gun ever) and I am thrilled I found this video! Awesome instruction's and great production! As a sound engineer I REALLY appreciate the excellent audio too!
As you will soon learn the rifle isn't worth half of what you paid for. Accuracy is none. You could be way more accurate with a 150.00 22. Rifle like a savage, or a rossi, and just as reliable, but just as I learned the trigger pull is awful for the 10/22 Ruger. After a trigger job, a bull barrel, and high priced scope we'll say 300 bucks worth of modifications you can be some what accurate with it.
In case you still use UA-cam, and in the hopes you see the notification, hows the collection 6 years later?
Best in-depth cleaning for the 10/22 (& mags) I have found - its simple & gives a real confidence in the complete strip down & cleaning - thank you!
Great video. Must say, people who make instructional videos (for guns or most anything) never seem to properly FILM the video in GOOD LIGHT using CLOSE UP SHOTS so people like me can actually SEE HOW TO DO whatever the video is showing me how to do.
This video was extremely well done with that in mind.. Thanks !
That was a great video, as others have mentioned. It did not have rambling asides that waste our time. It was concise, and to the point. Video shots were close up and clear, with the audio giving very clear instructions to go along with the video. Very good way to be clear - to line up the four pins, showing the relative sizes, when ready to reassemble. Thank you so much for taking the time to create this video, for both the rifle and the magazine.
Thanks for taking the time to post a very clear, straight forward cleaning procedure for the Ruger 10/22 and it's magazine. Well done and very informative.
Why anyone would ever give this video a thumbs-down is beyond me. Good job young man. You should be very proud of your work.
best 10/22 maintenance video. nice to show the trigger assembly and magazine disassembly and assembly .
Wow - great video! Anyone else would have taken 90 minutes to explain this. You did it in less than 12.
I don't even own a firearm, but found this video absolutely fascinating and well made. Really interesting.
You should go buy yourself a 10/22. Probably the first best step into the world of shooting. Lotsa fun!
Broooooo that trigger disassembly reassembly was amazing
Outstanding; no wasted time right to the cleaning phase total and complete including the magazine, perfect enonciation and your sequencing was flawless. this from an 80 years old man THANKS.
Nice job. Clear, concise, sharp camera work and background music soft enough to hear what you're saying.
Very well done! It certainly was, as promised, the most comprehensive Ruger 10/22 cleaning video ever made!
finally a video titled "ULTIMATE" that really is . Thanks a ton
Absolutely best 10/22 take down and cleaning video online.
Wow, after watching this video, there is absolutely no need for me to have to go back and watch it again. Very well done one of the best instructional videos I have seen. Not a regular commenter but had to,....Subscribed! Cheers from Canada!
Wow, im impressed, what a fantasic video! Gr8 editing and clear steps!
This is one of the MOST detailed videos I have ever seen! Great job! This is going to help me big time.
I second the comment made by Unboxing Free Stuff. This is a SUPERIOR video and you don't need to go further to understand what you need to do.
Great video. I just successfully disassembled and cleaned my Ruger for the first time ever. Thank you.
Excellent video, well explained, concise and close up views throughout. Many thanks
Very nice informative video for the novice 10/22 gun owner. Thank you for posting it Forrest. You look very young, but obviously you were taught very well. I'll also give credit to your elders, or whoever shared their knowledge with you.Unfortunately, there are too many of today's shooters that think gun maintenance is old-fashioned and something that seldom or rarely needs to be performed. They'll have to learn the hard way I guess, when a dangerous animal is charging, they point their weapon at it, and it goes "click".
Yes... best 10/22 Ruger cleaning video on UA-cam. Thanks
Best 10/22 cleaning video I’ve ever seen, by far. Thanks!
One of the best instructional videos I've ever seen. Thanks a million!!!
Such an amazing video! Just bought my first gun, a 10/22 that I pick up Thursday! I was so worried since iv never disassembled or cleaned a gun before, but this video gives me loads of confidence!
Thank you for an awesome video. 8 years old and probably one of the best I have seen. This will now be kept in my favorites.
Like many others in the comments, this was the best and most thorough how to video of the ruger 10/22 cleaning keep up the great work!!!!!
I miss your videos man the cool shit and quality of your videos are amazing ! PLEASE COME BACKKK
Bro you will make an amazing teacher. Pure talent.
As others have said this is the BEST video on the Ruger 10 22. Thank you
Ok, Best instruction video I have seen by far. Clear voice, excellent camera work.
Thank You
My 10/22 on it's Way!!!
Thanks man. I was about to take a hammer to my new mag I got with my CMP 16" 10/22. Couldn't load mag to capacity. Even had problems getting mag into gun without holding bolt open. Took apart, cleaned and lightly oiled. Works great now. Didn't know they would come apart
What an incredibly well done video - bravo!
Forrest,, I viewed this video again, And I really appreciate how you convey everything in a simple fashion. Good Job. Thanks Wade Out..
By far the best 10-22 cleaning video ever thank you
WOW, the best ever on have to clean up your 10/22. Good production of the video, many thank's :-)
buddy this was an awesome video
Very concise video. Where many instructional videos fail is that they try to narrate while they are performing the task. By narrating separately from the video track you can script it and pace yourself accordingly.
I understand that this is from seven years ago, but I went waaay back 8n the comments and did not find ant appreciation for every thing laying on it's side. Fantastic.
You cannot make sure the gun is empty without FIRST removing the magazine before checking the chamber. If the magazine had a bullet in it while you were checking the chamber, as soon as the bolt was released back forward, there would be a bullet in the chamber. So, the first safety step is to keep the rifle pointed in a safe direction and remove the magazine before ANYTHING else. Other than that, great video!
im never taking my trigger assembly apart ever again. jesus christ you make it look so easy
+Payehn In three decades of shooting 10/22s, the only time I even mess with them is when they get an upgraded hammer to improve trigger pull and an upgraded bolt stop for easier use. Otherwise they just get a quick spray and blow out.
Joel Back Yeah im not taking mine apart again for a long time. Somehow i mixed up the trigger reset spring and the spring that goes under the hammer. I didnt shoot my 22 for 2 months because i couldnt figure that shit out hahaha
This is my first time watching a video of this detail and very well explained. I am always afraid to disassemble the gun to the smallest details but following this video you can definitely do it with no risk you cannot assemble it back. Thank you man!
Its so... detailed. Its so clear. Easy to follow. Everything. Extremely well done, thank you
best instruction on you tube! thanks!
AMAZINGLY CLEAR AND NOW I CAN ATTEMPT TO TAKE OUT ALL THE PINS AND SPRINGS!
This is a very comprehensive and clear video which has helped a novice like me so much. Thank you.
I can not like this video enough! It's very detailed and high quality (much easier to see the small trigger pieces). I keep referring back to this not only for cleaning but even when I'm modding or replacing parts. No other video is as in-depth showing how ever part comes apart and goes back together.
Nice job young man!
Can you please come back? Noticed your channel a few days ago, one of the best i've Seen to be honest!
Still watching this in 2021 and using it as a tutorial for every time I disassemble and reassemble my 10/22. Love this video.
Ruger owes you my man.
J Gaskill nah they probably want your gun to get dirty so parts wear out faster and you have to buy replacements
Ruger got pissed off they're now losing money because people won't just buy new cartridges, they took him out and that's why he hasn't made a vid for so long
It may be six years old, but it's still an excellent video. Very thorough without being too long.
I just bought a ruger 10/22 today. Love the video. This is the best video I have seen for cleaning.
Thanks so much for this video. This is professional instruction here. Very comprehensive and what a great added plus teaching me how to clean out the magazine. Top notch! G96 should give you a sponsorship!
Awesome vid !! Sub'd you because it was so efficiently well done!
I forgot to say excellent presentation. I'll follow the basic cleaning before shooting my new used 10/22, and the more thorough cleaning when necessary. Thanks!
You werent kidding- this is THE most comprehensive 10/22 cleaning video. I reference it all the time and appreciate you putting this together.
man, that fucking sear spring and trying to work the trigger/sear in place almost made me rage-quit hard. So glad i got it back together thanks to this vid. big props
CreamofFetus yeah man I hear you, I almost snapped! Lol! The good part about it now though is that I know it like the back of my fucking hand now. HaHa!
More gun videos, please
One of the best instructional videos I’ve ever seen. Thank you sir.
Excellent video. I've had my 10-22 (the same one) since 1967. Pulled it out after a bazillion years to teach my son and daughter to shoot it. After a little range time we brought it home to clean. Although some of the parts are different now (the magazine release is a push up button on mine vs a push forward lever) the gun has stood the test of time. Your video was spot on to review with the kids. Thanks!
Are you ever going to make videos again?
Best video I've EVER seen on cleaning a rifle. Unfortunately, Forrest prolly got sued by some snowflake claiming that they contracted toenail fungus - because the video didn't instruct them to wear gloves and a face mask.
Amazing video, saved my bacon. Pins fell out of trigger assembly very easily. Video allowed me to rebuild. You make it seem simple. Not quite as easy as you do it, but I finally managed to get it. Thank you very much.
Bravo dude! I actually watched this from beginning to end without skipping or speeding. Super informative and you make it look so easy.
Thank you for showing the detailed disassembly and reassembly of the trigger group. Very well done and helpful
I've never commented on a video. Ever. In 15 years of googling. This was by far the best and most thorough gun cleaning video is ever seen. Thank you!
The problem is he didn't wear gloves and the chemicals go into your skin and get in your bloodstream. And that is bad.
Very good instructional 10/22 gun cleaning video, I added it to my saved list on YT under Gun Videos. Thanks.
hay woods I'm 65 years old and I've never worn 'gloves'. Rubber or otherwise to clean guns. I have no ill effects from it. Neurologically or built-up in my organs. I've been checked by Medical professionals because of my work in aerospace for 30 years, where I've been exposed to far harsher chemicals then those they use in firearm solvents. But, keep up the good work. Make sure every firearm video on the Internet is meeting your criteria for safety.
@@greenlawnfarm5827 ... Sheesh... Gloves? Thanks to the myriad of California warning labels on almost every product including water based latex paint the current younger generation is afraid of their own shadow. They won't even get their kids life saving vaccines or flu shots. Anyway... my father lived to be 94. He worked in a chemical plant for 35 years. He used to come home with his clothes smelling so bad with chemical odors like Formaldehyde my mother made him get undressed out in the breezeway. Over the years he brought home almost every chemical known to man use in various cleaning projects. Some smelled so bad he could only use them outside. That said, he never wore gloves. Cleaning guns, carburetors, degreasing parts etc. When he was in a hurry he would just grab the can of gasoline. Granted some chemicals are nastier than others but the warning labels on almost everything nowadays including many food items are only there to protect the manufacturer from lawsuits (i.e., todays get rich quick scheme) . Not saying gloves are a bad idea but personally I only use them when I don't want to waste time cleaning my hands after a messy project.
Well the chemicals still are not good if they go thru skin.
