From an operatic standpoint it is just way too forced And pushy. But keep in mind this wasn’t written for an opera. It was written for a patriotic French movie Celebrating the bicentennial of the founding of the republic (Which you all probably know). It’s supposed to be forced, over-the-top, and aggressive. It summarize the French revolution perfectly, and considering that context it’s very beautifully written and sung.
