The modern olympic games are a joint Greek-German invention. Greece was ruled by German royals back then and the German Oktoberfest (the way it has been back then - not a "beer festival") was the role model for the new olympic games.
My favorite Cauldrons would probably have to be Sydney & Londons. Sydney because of the combination of water & fire, epically creative. London because the Cauldron represented everything that the Olympics is, the coming together of all nations, executed in such a peaceful and beautiful way.

The way the torch was lit at the Beijing Olympics brought tears to the eyes of every Chinese. The process of Li Ning holding the torch and running around the field symbolizes the unremitting struggle of the Chinese people, sadness and pride.
The world is beautiful, it's nice to have events such as these that brings us together in one place around the world, in a harmless competition. Such a beautiful thing. I wish it was always like this, and not really ridden with hatred and war.
