Let the teams make those calls once the race is deemed damp or wet, whatever you want to call it. The drivers and teams know what they are doing. It was ridiculous watching them burn caution laps for the rest of the race while they struggled to make awful decisions on when to pit and what for.
Do they know what they're doing though? The track was still clearly wet and teams like the 5 wanted to put slicks on way early. And then when they inevitably wreck because the track is still wet, people will blame Nascar and why did they allow them to put slicks on when the track was still wet. Nascar made the conservative call and ultimately the right one in this moment in time. It would've been chaos if they allowed teams to put slicks on while others were still on wet while the track was still clearly wet. They were wrecking even with wet tires on. In the future with a few more wet weather races on ovals and the teams will have the data to make their own decisions but right now? They don't have it so playing it conservative is the right call. Be lucky you even got a finish to the race. 2 years ago and they would've called this race due to rain, instead they allowed the end of the race to become an unofficial test session. From what i understand from years of watching and hearing drivers talking about it, it's because there's basically no banking and long straights. Lots of things I'd love to posit from what I'm hearing from the several podcasts and recap shows: 1. NASCAR making the calls about tires - This is their show. Could you imagine them letting driver pick the tires and then at like 4 different points in the field, drivers spin out and collectively crash like 20 cars. Now that changes the entire topic conversation from interesting racing to how big of a shit show the ending of the race was. I don't know, just seems like the right call given the product. And to the point of Denny and all of the other drivers who have spoken on it, ya can't be risking the safety either. It's priority ONE. 2. Larson's Racing - Denny said it right here. There is a bias. They don't pay much attention to when their driver is doing it. It's Kyle Larson. I am not really questioning his decisions in the car. There's a reason he's in the conversation about the most talented in the sport right now. I had even thought at the time, isn't Kyle running him kind of low? Then Denny runs him high. It's pretty fair on the surface level and I think Kyle knew that. I think aside from the obviously inappropriate timing of giving that feedback, but I also just don't think it's feedback that would be warranted to be given. 3. Championship favorites - Exactly. Always overreactions. The favorites are always the people in the lead, right? So why even remark on it. Haha! review
What a pore weekend you should earned more then this. From 3 to the back and now 40 points behind. That means you need +5 points over Larson every last 8 races. It is a gap but still you can close it. 😘Hallo from Germany
Denny changed his approach to driving after he walled Chastain on the exit of turn one at Pocone. Pulled the very same move the following year on Larson. Guess he's figured out it's easier then racing someone. It's Denny's favorite move now, if he doesn't feel like racing you he'll just run you up the track on corner exit. It's dirty and talentless. Not the act of a champion. Oh wait 😉
When he started doing it with Blaney, I was just thinking "Blaney will wreck him, so he better be careful." I don't see Blaney as a dirty driver at all, but if you keep driving him that way, he won't just let you get away with it, I know that.
You hit the nail on the head, I’ve noticed this almost every single week, hes old and out of talent, he runs someone up into the fence almost every single week religiously, not to mention he dropped to the back of the field once talent was required with wet weather tires. It’s why he’ll never win a championship and guys half his age will…
@@jaredchampagne2752once talent was required? His car was plowing extremely hard with rain tires. Wanna talk about a skilled race, that was Bristol and he won that 🤷🏻♂️
Denny, do you have some input on these announcers in the booth? They lag behind in most all the action. Focus more on the back or middle drivers. Miss a lot of different incidents on the track as well. I wanted to just turn my t.v. off, they make watching the race really boring.😅
non competitive pitstops.... sure was... teams can't adjust the cars properly to the conditions if they don't know if they'll be changing tires to slicks or not and the conditions wont' stay the same... ... nascar wouldn't' give teams a straight answer becasue they didn't know what they wanted... they had 2hrs to figure it out before they went green.... pretty typical of the officating when chaos ensues in the middle of races.... make it up as they go.... it was fun to watch until an officiating decision was involved, how frustrating...... during green was like watching a winged sprint car race on the pavement... my fav type or racing. to bad it was only 70+laps of it.
You couldn’t drive that Toyota left and have your spotter tell you what to do because of a little mist or spray those wet weather tires aren’t good for misting?
Finishing in almost dead last on the lead lap, while Larson finished in the top 5? While Larson has won a championship and Denny hasn’t? Guy is a stooge.
New Hampshire stinks too. It's another Phoenix, but imo, a little worse. It's never been a good track or put on good racing. What's worse is that now there are 3 flat, "mid" at best races in the playoffs, without including Martinsville. Unless there is some change coming to the car for the short tracks, it's not going to be a very good stretch of races at the end. It's almost like they're trying to make the sport bad or something.
@@n1ghteng4lehes a narcissist. He cant say anything good about anyone except himself. Especially when a driver on his team, half his age is kicking his ass and will win a championship before him.

I might be the only weekly listener that likes Dennys less and less as time goes on. He won't even race Larson. Just moves him and then makes some bs roundabout excuse why it happens. You'll get it back in spades, bro
Kyle needs some more excuses drawn up for next week, get to it and don’t leave out Denny Hamlin when mentioning why Larson doesn’t have more success. While his own crew tells him to stop being such a bitch when he’s being raced
He had way fresher tires it's not an excuse dummy it's a fact and Denny is racing for a win at that point... but your a Larson fan boy so rational thinking eludes you.
For those that think he is a narcissist, think about the five men in your life, personal and/or professional, who you are surrounded by the most every week. I imagine at least one of them would have a very similar approach to issues if their lives were swapped with Denny's.
Why do we ask any driver let alone Hamlin about squeezing people on the track? Do you actually think he is gonna say "yep, my bad."? Also, what an ignorant statement on spotters being bias ... what does Denny think he is when he is analyzing himself on the track? You have to hear a stump speech from him on every incident ... hard pass. Like listening to Joe Biden put a sentence together.
Get rid of Bubba and hire KB, bubba has only been a decent driver for about a month dtretch during the playoffs last year. Other than that hes been a 16th-20th points guy his entire time at 23xi, not a elite driver
He has talent he just needs Booty to figure out how to keep up with the track they never make his car better as the race go on , I watch very closely and Bubba car 9 times out of 10 is terrible after his 1st pit stop plus there is never any pitting and tire Strategy like the 45 team do all the time for track position. It’s a team effort you can’t put it all on Wallace
You have to see NHMS in person to appreciate it. I understand it’s boring on TV, like most races. But it’s just different in person, it was a great race to watch live.
I love how just because Hamlin cant adapt to situations and couldn’t figure out how to drive in wet weather conditions, like every other driver, hes knocking this situation at NH. That was a fantastic race, just as usual he ran out of talent and got spanked by everyone else who understands how to drive in any other weather then dry pavement, this guy stinks.
Denny is just a bad driver and has made it publicly known, he’d rather wall someone than race them. It’s why he’ll never win a championship. He only finishes decent most races because hes in one of the fastest cars in the field every week. But when it comes to being clutch and needing talent, he always blows it.

I feel like NASCAR prolonged the cautions before the rain hit. And I feel like NASCAR called the race and everyone knew it, till the fans wouldn't leave. And I feel like NASCAR was making up rules as they went after the rain tires went on, kinda like a crap show. But racing was good.
I was at the track and 95% of the fans left, the bleachers were a ghost town. I think they did right by finishing the race. It was friggen awesome to see them go out again.
denny i understand why you can't race in the on superspeedway and intermediate ovals in the wet why not on short tracks I always thought wet racing will throw surprises in wet races give the race more interesting results by the way good year need to improve the tyres maybe 3 compound system hards , mediums and softs plus wets and intermediates
Who else checked their phones at 18:13? 🤦🏼♀️
Unpopular Opinion: The Xfinity series is more entertaining racing vs the Cup Next Gen cars.
Thank thank thank sir.
I’ve never seen a fan base cry more about something that their favorite driver does to others as Larson fans do when it happens to him lol just stop watching nascar there’s other motorsports out there for you
40:47 for a Denny freudian slip
Lots of things I'd love to posit from what I'm hearing from the several podcasts and recap shows:
Haha!

Oh wait 😉
Yet here you are watching his podcast
@@matty0000 I like his podcast, I don't like his driving
Wanna talk about a skilled race, that was Bristol and he won that 🤷🏻♂️
Why doesn't every track have lights by now? They definitely make enough $...
City ordinances. It was written into NHMS contract that the track would never add lights.
Denny, do you have some input on these announcers in the booth? They lag behind in most all the action. Focus more on the back or middle drivers. Miss a lot of different incidents on the track as well. I wanted to just turn my t.v. off, they make watching the race really boring.😅
C Bell is going to go down as one of the all time greats. He’s just so good.
non competitive pitstops.... sure was... teams can't adjust the cars properly to the conditions if they don't know if they'll be changing tires to slicks or not and the conditions wont' stay the same... ... nascar wouldn't' give teams a straight answer becasue they didn't know what they wanted... they had 2hrs to figure it out before they went green.... pretty typical of the officating when chaos ensues in the middle of races.... make it up as they go.... it was fun to watch until an officiating decision was involved, how frustrating...... during green was like watching a winged sprint car race on the pavement... my fav type or racing. to bad it was only 70+laps of it.
You couldn’t drive that Toyota left and have your spotter tell you what to do because of a little mist or spray those wet weather tires aren’t good for misting?
of course it wasn't dh fault w/the 5
The best I've ever seen Denny...!! He took it too KL 🎉
Great finish for Denny for sure
Finishing in almost dead last on the lead lap, while Larson finished in the top 5? While Larson has won a championship and Denny hasn’t? Guy is a stooge.
@@jaredchampagne2752was definitely running better than Larson prior to nascar deciding to throw rain tires on the cars.
@@jaredchampagne2752let’s not forget that there’s 6 1st, 2nd places finishes against Denny and Larson and Denny is undefeated 6-0
Track dry N tires !!!
It should be up to driver's about racing in the rain. I'm 50 seen to many deaths in NASCAR to do it for money or whatever reason.
poor ham the only drive who had trouble him and booboo are bookends
Well it was Interesting
Indy cars don't have wipers or mud flaps...
V8 supercars let the driver's decide when they want wets or not take the training wheels off and let them send it
Of course they should let them risk it. What idiot would disagree
Idk man, you have to see NHMS in person to appreciate it, it’s such a fun racetrack to watch in person. Trust me.
Could NASCAR Be buying Indycar and own all their tracks.
C bell didnt do so well at martinsville he wrecked right in front of us
Why don’t they run as fast as your cars?
hmmmmm why that edit at like 9:20?
to keep the flow in the podcast

Do you guys think this is like a conspiracy lol ?
Aye just in time to eat and watch lfg
Worse race in KFB’S whole career??

Front row comment.
Dude you door slammed 3 times, but it’s your story,
Yup.. Last week while being a lap down he got into Larson also 🤷🏼♂️
I was looking forward to this episode but Denny was honestly such an asshole I almost had to turn it off
The whole Christopher bell championship pick section was unbearable, “does that answer your question” so condescending from Denny
@@n1ghteng4lehes a narcissist. He cant say anything good about anyone except himself. Especially when a driver on his team, half his age is kicking his ass and will win a championship before him.
@@jaredchampagne2752 totally agree 🤣
He can say what he wants. He doesn't need to pander to people like you
Roles reversed...with no precedence...totally different reaction with the contact with Larson. Just hand the babies tissues if they wanna keep getting so hurt over it.
You are big mad lmaaooo
He had way fresher tires it's not an excuse dummy it's a fact and Denny is racing for a win at that point... but your a Larson fan boy so rational thinking eludes you.
Drivers in the old days used that move all the time kid
Obviously you didn't Dale race in the #3 car. Bro

@@slackhammer4467 ehh talent wise I'd say he's like 13th to 15th in the field based on talent, not some generational guy
New Hampshire sucks and now it's going to be in the playoffs next year . Just appeasing the northern fans .
He lives rent free
