The most expensive street food in Hong Kong was in Happy Valley in the old days. You find them no more now.Expensive just simply because they are in Happy Valley.

+Luckyna Sourn I doubt if the oil is anywhere near as hot as melting point of the chopsticks. Also, when she pours the mixture into the oil, the oil temperature will reduce at the surface, making it even less likely to melt the choppys because only the tips go into the oil. Hope this helps

Catherine Mendoza This is very typical Hong Kong style street dinning.I got used to it for over 50 years in Hong Kong.People made joke of it, laugh about it,on local TV shows, in comic strips etc.A fact of life which Hongkongers cannot afford to ignore.

If you are humane, a bit choosy about the food you eat, clean and sane don't eat in a foreign land. You cannot survive off bread and veggies for long.
