I've attempted numerous purchases through Fashionphile but have always sent them back due to undisclosed odor, structure loss, condition issues, etc... I'm either super-picky or have just had bad luck. Resigned myself to always buy new but will look forward to your newsletter to perhaps give it another go - thanks!
Yes Amy, that can always be a problem but it's worth it when you can get a bag that's no longer available pre-loved. I always give my pre-loved bags a good clean when they arrive and order them liners etc. it makes them feel like your own
My bags are about 2/3 new and 1/3 preowned. My Antigona was purchased preloved in new condition. I paid less than half the retail. I did make a very small attempt to sell it to an online site. They offered me such a low amount it made more sense to keep and enjoy it. If I can buy the bag new I will, especially if I know it’s going to be a forever bag. My preloved bags are discontinued bags so that was my only option.

Oh yes! Especially if you’re like me and have a specific bag, specific color/style. I’m on the hunt for two specific colors/styles of the Prada Cahier, and it is taking a while 😂
Great video! I shop for preloved luxury items frequently, and was very much aware of great discounts on preloved YSL Medium College bags. However, I recently bought one brand new because it's my birthday gift to myself. Although I opened it to examine that everything was in place when I received it, it's now wrapped to be opened on my birthday in December. :-). I also managed to save about 17% on it.
I think buying new is also about the whole experience. Going to the actual store, getting the bag wrapped in package,etc that you wouldn't get if you bought from ebay

but paying a $1000 or more just to unwrap a bag in 5 seconds seems ridiculous. also I've honestly found luxury store customer service is horrible. they're very snobby if you don't walk in looking like a million dollars.

I bought the saddle bag in both small and medium size. The small is lovely, but doesn't fit my phone. The medium size is too big, heavy and the straps overlapping is just weird
This might seem like a dumb question but can you get bags authenticated prior to an online purchase? I’m so nervous to purchase something, have it authenticated, it’s fake and no recourse to recoup thousands of dollars. I’ve purchased bags from Prada, YSL and LV now (just starting my collection) and I’m almost willing to pay retail because I’m afraid to be duped! Thanks for the info! ☺️☺️
Yes you can and one thing I do is request that the seller gets the certificate themselves then share it with you. If they’re strange about it - avoid! And always check the certificate (they normally have codes on) to show that they’re real
Yes I find due to Dior's high prices and less demand than Chanel and Louis Vuitton they don't hold their value too well, you can make some big savings on preloved. Keep it and maybe try to wear it more often, see how you like using it. I do love those big straps!

Yes I know for some people they'd just prefer to buy from store and not make that saving but know it's authentic. Personally, I don't mind getting them authenticated but it is extra hassle.
I bought a lv neverfull on offerup. The bag is almost new, the seller just need money to pay bills. Everything is authentic. She bought it from the lv store in our mall.
Every Balenciaga city bag I’ve seen on the resale market looks terrible. Like used and beat down. I keep looking though. Hopefully your newsletter will find it for me
I almost bought the loulou mini new the other day, but it's just too small so I will wait until I go back to Europe and get a small - the toy also only has the leather strap and I prefer the chain strap.
Mini Lady Dior in excellent condition cost close to retail ( maybe $400 less). I have a feeling that bloggers are keep repeating themselves, making the same videos again and again. Must be their new collaborations with the resale sites!
I’m not collaborating with any resellers if that’s what you think - and you can make bigger savings on the last Dior. I wasn’t specifically talking about the mini but the normal sizes there are big savings to be had. Not sponsored. Not collaborating. Not the same video as I’ve made before
@@Handbagholic Sorry, I did not mean to attack you personally. Just too many bloggers have been making this kind of videos recently and Lady Dior is ALWAYS on their list. But they just forget to mention that the larger size ones are usually the good buys. Bigger bags are out of style right now. The mini, on another hand , especially if they are in great condition are not that of a great bargain on a secondary market. Actually, the bigger size - the better deal you can find.

I wanted to buy an Antigona in smooth leather for a long time, but held off due to its price. After waiting, I got it brand new during a clearance sale in Guam - at only £720 converted! ❤️
I'm restarting my Luxury journey because I'm just not happy with the bags I own. I am looking at a YSL toy Lou Lou but I might not get it until Next year because I have 2 others I want to get first.
I'm such a basic bitch, and I mostly stick with the quintessential luxury classics. Therefore almost all my luxury bags I bought pre-loved for this exact reason. My handbag collection is so boring, it isn't ever going up in value lets put it that way.

Yes you can. I've done that. They send you a link to pay(it's cheap) for authentication then you send photos. They ask for specific photos.

Yes! I have a healthy pre-loved collection of Chanel bags. I bought most of them when we used to be able to get good deals on them. Not anymore!

I love preloved. You need to just do your research and shop with trusted consignment stores. Half of the fun is the chase of finding the right piece.
