WOW! Comparing to interviews and question and answers sessions with Gaiman, GRRM, Abercrombie or Rothfus this is so much better than their evening. Great professional question, dynamic between these two with jokes and smiling and not generic idiotic questions that authors above recieve.

Very much enjoyed this reading and Q&A. Mr Kay was a pleasure to listen to, and was very gracious in his interactions with the audience and during the book signing. Congratulations, sir, on this excellent new book, one of your best so far.

It is like watching James Taylor and no one cares. GGk is simply my favourite writer.

People do not read to make themselves smarter. People who like to read are smart. It is a lifestyle.

Song Dynasty China was remarkably progressive in important social and economic ways, and may have been on the verge of industrialization - who knows what would have happened if the Mongols had not destroyed it. The Industrial Revolution in, say, 1400 instead of 1800 - now that's something to imagine.

I don't share Kay's dislike of historical fiction where the female characters are anachronistic and have more of a 21st Century mentality than whatever time period they live in. Most readers are well aware that what they are reading is fiction and are just looking for entertainment. I do like that writers like Kay exist who attempt to present 'authentic' historical fiction or fantasy as well, though.
