Your ability to step so far outside of your comfort zone and still speak so eloquently about it is the main draw of this channel for me. I'm not surprised you didn't like it, no one with two brain cells to click together should have expected you to like it. But the fact that you listened and still found at least a few mildly positive things to say is very respectable. This is a pretty unique reaction channel and you can't say that very often, lol.

I understand the question of "What's the point?"
And I would say that it is related to questioning things like "What's the point of a roller coaster if you don't go anywhere?", "What's the point of a horror movie if it's fiction?"', or "What's the point of watching a sport match if you are not playing?".
I think it's supposed to be thrilling, adrenaline-inducing, and fun.

As someone from a classical background Falling in Reverse is my favourite band.
And about the crude expression thing, music is for expressing your inner feelings, so depending on your feelings this kind of music does sound right.
I listen to all kinds of genres so that's what I'm gonna say.
To know why it's my favourite band you need to listen to more of their songs, trust me you'd love them once you start understanding how they blend different genres together.
And you can start at Last resort reimagined to start with their classical side. Also there's a live version of this song, react to that, there's a classical kind of surprise in there.
Also check I'm not a vampire and the revamped version, same with the drug in me is you and the reimagined version.

I wasn't expecting to see a falling in reverse song on your channel lol. They're one of the best bands out right now...
I know this was something completely out of your comfort zone so I understand how you feel.
Since you want something more artistic. I recommend you check out some of their reimagined series. They're more of ballad songs then heavy rap metal like this one.
Great reaction either way though. Hope we see more of falling in reverse in your channel in the future. 😌✨

The song starts in spoken word, transitions into rap, then transitions to rock, and then transitions into metal.

It was interesting when you talked about the background music making you feel like it's in a church, when in the video, he is in a church. I know your focus is the music, but so much of Falling In Reverse's musical experience is to see the video with the music. If you do react to their reimagined versions of songs (I'm Not a Vampire Revamped, The Drug in Me is Reimagined, Last Resort Reimagined), I would recommend you also watch the video. Excellent reaction.

I understand your reticence to enjoy the foul language. One of the things that can help maybe bring that into focus is understanding that certain songs like this one are harnessing your pain and rage to Express it in a healthy way and sometimes you can be in so much pain and have so much rage that foul language is the only way to get your feelings across. Otherwise fantastic reaction can't wait to see more I agree with every other comment the re-imagined/revamped versions of his songs are way more up your alley!

Give FIR “Last Resort (Reimagined)” a listen.
I think it will 1. Help clarify the band name when you take it together with “Watch the World Burn” 2. Demonstrate the tip of the iceberg re. Mr. Radke’s range.
In fact I think the album “Popular Monster” is shaping up to tell a story Herr Mozart would approve

Pretty much all I watch are reactors and so I've seen them all. It's so refreshing to have someone down to earth who don't appear to be faking their reactions for views so I would predict your channel doing very well if you keep that in check. As you seem like a nice person, I'm going to give you a few very specific tracks/singles on UA-cam that are well known to blow your channel up and make you a lot of money. I've not yet worked my way through all your videos yet (which I'm just about to do) so apologies if you have already done some of them.
So, from a high artistic value perspective, anything from Ren but definitely best to start with the best, 'Hi Ren.'
Now going up level but this time, from a high music & video production value, anything else from Falling In Reverse from 'Drugs' onwards is in a brand new incomparable tier of its own and in particular, the best ones from a video production prospective are 'Ronald' and 'Watch The World Burn' as those video alone tipped them over into greatness. You absolutly MUST MUST watch the music videos at the same time as they make up the vast majority of the excellence ozing from this band. Each video is truly a remarkable spectacle and must not be missed! (Sadly, you would have already diluted the once in a lifetime impact of watching the music video fresh but as long as you watch each music video from now on, you'll deeply thank yourself in the future. Personally, I would remove this non-music video reaction from UA-cam and record it again whilst watching the music video, that is how high impacting they are, not just to you the viewer, but also to the subsequent number of subscribers on your channel exploding into the stratosphere whilst you reap that financial gain.) Also, from an arrangement perspective, be sure to then do their beautiful 'The Drug In Me Is You Reimagined,' then 'I'm Not a Vampire Revamped' and then 'Last Resort Reimagined,' then any/all the other few from 'Drugs' onwards. (Like Ren, the frontman Ronnie even loves reactors and so also reacts to them reacting to him, which can be fun from that inception angle. I think he'd really like you so maybe someone will suggest you to him at some point.)
Now up a level again but this time from a high singing skills value, a super special one would be 'Creep - Vintage Postmodern Jukebox Radiohead Cover ft. Haley Reinhart.' This is my most watched video/listened to single of all time and I have therefore seen it many many many hundreds of times over the nearly decade since it was released.
Finally to the pinnacle and from a highly evolved human perspective, a true one off for likely many hundreds of years, Harry Mack. This might not suit your channel but if you compare the two best people in the world at any other discipline, whether that's tennis or car racing or cooking and everything in between, the two best people are always very close in abilities. This is not true in freestyle rap. The greatest freestyle rapper to ever live, Harry Mack, is many many many magnitudes greater than anyone that has done it before or who is likely to do it again in the next century or few. It is a truly remarkable feat of human evolution and so linguistically advanced, it sends tingles down one's spine. I have run an in depth scoring algorithm since he exploded back on the scene following my discovery of him back from his Venice Beach fame, this time with series called Guerrilla Bars, which I luckily picked up on the first one with before he introduced Omegle Bars too. There are typically 3 or 4 different freestyles per video. You'd be best starting with Omegle Bars 52(first two,) 45(first two,) 42(first one,) 18(last one,) 76(first one,) 86(second one,) 96(second one,) 50(second one,) 93(second one,) ... and then any of the others, especially the more recent ones, and don't forget Guerrilla Bars 25(first & last one.)
Finally, just some general tips for reactors that were the result of a poll amongst several sizable communities, hence, some may not apply to you:
    - Remember to not even have a tiny peak at any videos first before recording the reaction as it is impossible to hide that fact no matter how good a reactor thinks they are.
    - Ensure the video being reacted to occupies at least two thirds of the screen at all times.
    - Push the mouse cursor to the far right of the screen in the middle (or left depending on if your output is mirrored) and permantly leave it there off-screen so the seek bar is never showing.
    - Use the 'K' key on the keyboard to pause/play and the 'J' key to skip back 10 seconds.
    - Before the video begins, press the 'C' key on the keyboard to deactivate the closed captions as no one wants to see words if it's already in their native language.
    - Even if a reactor believes they're good at acting, viewers can always tell when a fake reaction face is pulled so it's better just to pretend you are not making a video.
    - Unless a reactor happens to be an expert in a particular related field such as being an esteemed vocal coach, viewers generally are not interested in much commentary at all as are primarily viewing just to witness if any natural facial expressions, etc. occur. Uncontrollable verbal outbursts of admiration are also accepted. (Never forget, many will unsubscribe if the reactions are ever fake.)
    - Remember, some or all of those suggestions above may not directly apply to you but might be helpful to keep in the back of the mind.
Enjoy the channel blowing up (assuming you don't have a peek at any of the above first.)
All the best and greetings from England.

Classical music was/is metal. Look at how Beethoven wrote music for instruments that didn’t exist at the time. Vivaldi was metal (La Folia). You should listen to Wolf Hoffmann’s album Headbangers Symphony.
You should listen to I’m Not a Vampire and Revamped (I’m pretty sure the guitar solo in the original is from a classical piece that I like, but can’t place). The Drug In Me Is You and reimagined, Last Resort by Papa Roach and Last Resort reimagined by FiR.

You almost had the metal head bob going on. You just needs to know that you rock your head forward and backward, not side to side, in order to conform to the appropriate and expected standard behavior. Oh yeah, metal is supposed to be the anathema of appropriate and expected standard behavior. So good job Amy. You are a true rebel.😉

I find this channel very interesting. It was a huge step to go so far outside of your comfort zone. I'm not sure I would have started you off with 'Watch the World Burn' LOL it was a very bold choice. Falling in Reverse gets a lot of its popularity from straight talk about mental health and the struggle inside your own head to maintain any kind of 'normal' life. The cursing is actually necessary in a lot of ways I think, because this is how a lot of people talk and if you can't relate to their way of communication it lessens the impact of the message of the song.

Ronnie of Falling in Reverse is a musical genius. He can do just about anything he thinks about. Punk, Metal, rap, ballads - any genre - a great way to explain it is that Ronnie can Music. If you don't like this style I'd recommend any of the Reimagined series - usually just Ronnie playing piano, singing his heart out. My favourite is Last Resort (reimagined).

I'm SOOOO here to see you delve more into the more modern rock/metal scene. one group I'd throw into the mix that I think you might find enjoyable would be Sleep Token. Their latest album really brought them in to popularity and I think they offer more musical elements that you're familiar with, while still having that more modern sound. The Love You Want, The Summoning, Aqua Regia, would be some of my recommendations.

I would make the argument that Ronnie cares quite a lot about relationships and that some of the raw emotional energy of his music reflects the pain and anger of being misunderstood and rejected. Also, the visual aspects of the music videos are an essential component to understanding the music. They are meant to be experienced together. Greatly appreciate your willingness to step outside your comfort zone in a non-judgemental way.

Thanks for giving it a chance. The first part is indeed pure hip hop.
Please check out The Last Resort Reimagined by Falling in Reverse (maybe listen to the original by Papa Roach first). Ib think you'll like it a lot more.
It's rock. Swear words are normal. And honestly - I don't mind. It's just words.
You can indeed get used to understand vocals like this. I don't understand opera lyrics, but have no problem with metal lyrics. It's only about what you are trained to understand.

Those "crude expressions" are intensifiers. It's one thing to say "I hate you" versus "I _fucking_ hate you". As long as those crude expressions aren't just there to fill a void, I have no issue with it. Anywho... now that we've walked into this musical landscape, when does Amy react to "Bury The Light" from Devil May Cry 5? No fear; zero crude expressions to be found in that track.

  • @mortusanteportas86
    @mortusanteportas86 6 місяців тому

So a few things to note on modern metal/ rock. „Crude expressions“: This genre is often very expressionistic and has cathartic elements to it so „crude words“ so occur often as the lyrics often deal with pain, anger, trauma. Also to this specific genre is the „drop“ or „breakdown“, a point in a piece with a particular „heavy“ guitar riff standing out and often without vocals. Third thing is very specific to this piece and I was surprised you didn’t pick up on it: The absence of a „traditional“ song structure. There is no clear chorus and verse rather it is based on hip-hop-style „bars“. I would like to suggest Korn as a rather „modern“ band as well as they are an important part of the stylistic roots that subgenre. May I suggest the conceptual double of „freak on a leash“ and „falling away from me“. Thanks.

This is my favorite band. I resonate so much with the lyrics especillay in the reimagined versions. You should definitely check out The drug in me is reimagined and Im not a vampire revamped. Also last resort by falling in reverse. Seems like something youd like more and as far as the crude expressions. It is the way he and millions of people talk now. Cussing is more common now than it used to be. Also i think adding the crude expressions in a song like this or the reimagined songs, it really conveys emotion to me. I think its great he adds them in and in the reimagined songs of his original rock songs he kept the crude exoressions in it and it really just adds to the songs and makes it so emotional. Just give it a chance and try not to get hung up on the cuss words. He really does write beautifully.

The general theme of Radke's songs boils down to "I am sorely put upon, and quite angry about that". Bit like John McClain's swearing in Die Hard, when he's not running hard as self destruction.
I'm not sure I'd have started with 'Watch the World Burn' as an introduction to FiL - while I'm not a huge fan, the Reimagined versions of The Drug Is Me and I'm Not A Vampire gave me something of an appreciation of the originals (emo/pop punk not being a genre I've often listened to for pleasure across a wide selection of bands - Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance being about it).

I understand the profanity not being appealing for certain people but we all come from different walks of life and if you have never had the urge to just vent out your rage and frustration in such a visceral way than count yourself lucky. Music is one of the best outlets for those feelings, however, and one of the more healthy ways to channel those negative emotions.

I would recommend looking into Christian post-hardcore. When I was in middle and high school in the early 00s my mom forced me to only listen to Christian music so I've done many deeps dives finding music that I enjoyed. I'm not religious at all but I still revisit some of those bands regularly because I enjoy the music over all, and really, most Christian rock bands refrain from preaching at the audience, they just don't curse which is enough to get them on Tooth and Nail record. Bands like Staple, P.O.D., Project 86, Demon Hunter (first two albums), and there are many others too. They yell, scream, and contain a lot of emotion in general, but with neutral - positive lyrics. Feel free to reach out if you need recommendations. I'll just wrap up by saying any song from Demon Hunter's Summer of Darkness album would be a good listen

Amy, with you now focusing on more modern bands here's some suggestions with songs to best introduce them:
    - "Cirice" by Ghost, who are currently one of the top metal bands.
    - "Everybody Sins" (album version) by Andrew WK, who plays all the instruments.
    - "Dead Memories" by Slipknot, a 9 member band and Corey Taylor can sign anything.
    - "So We Can Stay Alive" by Garbage
    - "Every Day Is Exactly The Same" by Nine Inch Nails
    - "Satanic Cyanide" by Rob Zombie
    - "How To Be A Human" by Powerman 5000
    - "Dani California" by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Watch the video where they portray all the eras of rock.
    - "Eat Me" by Demi Lovato, who can sing anything.
    - "Last Patrol" by Monster Magnet

I admire your willingness to step outside your experience but I think this wasn’t a great introduction for you to Falling In Reverse. From one classical musician to another I’d suggest listening to one of their reimagined songs like “I’d Not A Vampire”& it’s “re-vamped” version or “The Drug In Me Is You”& it’s re-imagined version. Watch the World Burn is a pretty heavy song of theirs to begin with if you’ve never heard anything like it before. I think that’ll leave you with a false impression of the band. Ronnie Radke is a very talented pianist & vocalist & is very diverse. I hope you give Falling In Reverse another go, but perhaps with one of their less heavy pieces that you’d be able to follow lyrically.

If you want to hear this band in a more classical sound, try The Drug in Me Is Reimagined
    I’m not a vampire revamped
And their cover of last resort from Papa Roach enjoyed your reaction. You should really try these three I think it’s more your style.

With Falling in Reverse I have found that while the songs themselves are great, the videos help tell the story of the song. Maybe try checking out the videos after you react to the song. I would love to see your thoughts on them.

Many of them do have, as you say, crude expressions. These expressions are really just part of modern vernacular. I am not a big fan either. But as much as I would prefer no cursing (as there is probably a 'better' way of expressing the thought), I like electric guitar more. so I put up with it. I feel like an old man saying, "it's just how the kids talk." While a bit cliche, it is also accurate.
Also, this is quite the song to use to dip your toe into Falling in Reverse it is a very "in your face' song. They offer a wide range of musical offerings. hope you do more, the group and Ronnie really are amazing. Other comments are already leading you to various other songs of theirs I am sure. All the best.

Saw FIR in January one of the best concerts I’ve been too. Whoever compares them to someone like ABBA just needs to stop it 😂😂 I curse and use crude expressions because 98% of people do not understand eloquence and big words. Studies have actually shown a correlation between people who curse and having a larger vocabulary than those who don’t.

Falling in reverse has become more of a visual experience with music, the videos really make the song worth watching but I wouldn’t throw this in a playlist. And this may be the most jarring choice out of falling in reverse’s discography to choose

Im gonna hold a flame of hope up and ask for a Kid A Album Reaction by Radiohead. Pretty much any song would be interesting to see from that album but perhaps the first one "everything in its right place" would be the best to start with as it defines the rest of the album pretty well

Yes, I would probably call this 'rap-rock'. Not that I'm an expert in rap and related genres. It's well put together of its type with some interesting features. The more modern rock and classical feel it developed as it progressed reminded me a little bit of Muse, who are much more musically interesting, melodic and lyrically intelligent IMO which I think you might enjoy.

In recent years Ronnie started to create music with a very high quality music videos. Both music and the video are complementary to each other to the point that music alone feels incoherent when listen without watching the video. Especially when you listen for the first time. He's doing it to get viral on YT, very succesfully tbh. When you want to understand his music you have to watch the video too. The only exceptions are probably his "reimagined" version of his old songs. I think you could genuinely enjoy "The drug in me is you reimagined"

I am glad to see Amy taking interest in more contemporary rock (although this is not the first time). I wish she would try out some other subgenres besides metal. I appreciate the musicianship in metal but I don't like to listen to it. My favorite genre is post punk, but there is so much diversity in rock music now. Rock is no longer the most popular music genre and I think that has allowed a lot of subgenres to flourish because they don't have to conform to what is playable on the radio.
