Please run these comparisons with the stereo mics AND a decibel meter.
Thanks for additional comparison. I'm fairly sold, just waiting to see some deliveries and happy customers and I'll get onto placing an order.
Does this hardtop use the OEM mounting hardware that should already be on the bronco's with the hardtop prep? Or do we need to install additional hardware to get the top on?
We provide all hardware to assemble and install to the vehicle. Only components that we do not provide is the hardtop prep kit. Majority of broncos are already outfitted with that prep kit.
If I swapped, is there a market for OEM hard tops? I'm guessing I wouldn't have a problem selling it but unsure.
I’m looking for word on my hardtop. I ordered it and paid for it last year. No word yet. I would really like to receive it before my cross country trip in August.
We appreciate your patience through the supply chain delays. We will contact you as soon as your hardtop is ready.
I just picked up my 23' Bronco after waiting over 2yrs.. and the dealership said Ford should be caught up with hardtops by the end of the year, and those that had to downgrade to softop (like myself) will have priority. I think AFC did everything right on this product. Everything is superior to the OEM hard top.. it's just that price range is a hard pill to swallow. I'll have until Dec to decide which way to go.
Ford has told customers that in 2021, 2022, and now 2023.... Just food for thought.
Swapping from a daily driving a Range Rover to playtime in a Bronco is night and day difference lol. Driving home from work on Friday in an SUV that is one of the most quiet, luxurious refined driving experiences in the world, to hopping in an SUV that sounds like i'm driving an F4 tornado🤣
I love it!🤗
Which model Range Rover was it? I'm thinking of doing the same. But worried about the noise.
@@jamesplant My husband has a Range Rover Autobiography and we have a Badlands
We just bought an aftermarket roof for the Bronco from Automotive Performance Group (APG) that killed A LOT of wind noise. It is one piece, rather than multiple and we don't even need to take it off.
But can it be painted tho ??? 🤔
the OEM hardtop is pure trash IMHO, the wind noise is the least of concerns, but the amount of clicking an rattling is insane! Does the ADV hardtop face the same issues?
Decibels guys not Decibals
Lol, thats hilarious. 3DB different for $6k. This will sell like hotcakes 😉🤔
3DB is a large difference. The 3dB 'trading effect' means for every 3 dB the sound level increases the impact on hearing health which is doubled.
3 decibels is way more of a difference than you think. The hum of a lightbulb is between 9 and 10 decibels, while the sound of a person breathing is between 10 and 11 decibels. The lightbulb is completely inaudible at 3 feet away while we can definitely hear people breathing from the same distance in a quiet room. And that’s only about a 1 decibel difference! I don’t remember how to figure out logarithmic ratios for this, but, most people think 20 db is double the noise intensity of 10 db and that is incorrect. Essentially, noise intensity doubles with each individual decibel. This 3 decibel difference is approximately the same difference in noise intensity between taking a shower and running a vacuum cleaner.
Idk about you, but I would prefer the shower bronco over the vacuum bronco.
Dude nobody gets a hardtop just for the sound difference that is just a bonus. The majority will be soft top owners like myself who settled for soft top for the well known reasons.
@@advfiberglass you posted half of the info
"A 1 dB change in a sound equates to about a 26% difference in sound energy (remember that a 3 dB difference is a doubling of energy levels). In terms of subjective loudness, a 1 dB change yields just over a 7% change. A 3 dB change yields a 100% increase in sound energy and just over a 23% increase in loudness"
In other words
"A change of 3 dB is accepted as the smallest difference in level that is easily heard by most listeners listening to speech or music. It is a slight increase or decrease in volume. To produce an increase of +3 dB you simply need to double power (watts)."
to put it simply, it is the lowest increase the average human(90th percentile) will notice.
My biggest letdown after getting a Bronco was the noise on the highway with the OEM hardtop. Seeing this really has me considering making the switch. That and I love the design of your 'sloped' rear window. Great work guys!
Thank you!
