Guy's I love this rendition - it reminds me of Angela by Bob James (the theme to the show Taxi). It keeps it simple, light, but to the point. Every section executed perfectly!
I'm from New Orleans. Let me say, 95% of the bands that are playing out here right now don't have even a tenth of the heart and soul you guys put into this. It's all, "When the Saints go marching in" style. I miss when the music had heart to it. Great stuff, man.

I agree - that's one of the things I love about these boys - they introduce young ones to jazz through familiar music. Especially in Australia we really need to grow the jazz audience. Last time I saw Herbie Hancock & Chick Corea, it wasn't a full house and Pat Metheny (squeezed in just before lockdown) had a smaller venue but also not sold out. I think though with pop artists like Charlie Puth and Silk Sonic being so, well...popular, the younger ears will become more sophisticated as pop evolves and jazz might become 'cool' again.
