Definitely in favor of the second angle and you exploring your cinematic side. I can tell it’s something you enjoy exploring whether it’s the practical lighting, color palettes, etc. Thank you for all the effort you put into your work, it doesn’t go unnoticed!!

Ignore the camera angle comments, make your video how you please. It's the content of the video that matters most and a "camera angle" isn't really affecting that. 👍🏽👍🏽

Having such interview on Monday for a lucrative position... I spent the last 5 years learning everything myself. Thanks for this, much appreciated.

Thank you for putting this together! I have been doing this type of work for almost 10 years now. The soft skills and more senior geared videos have helped me out a lot. They also help me to keep me in check. Thank you and I always look forward to your videos!

I like the way the camera zooms in every couple of second for each small topic, it makes the mind think the it's serious topic to listen and watch.

This is great advice. Too many people do not "interview" the job and don't hear/know what they are actually getting into. That can be a great recipe for misery.

Hey Arjan! This is probably a common problem, but I am the only developer in my workplace and I essentially created the position for myself by solving business problems with code that were previously done manually. This has given me experience in a lot of the areas you touched on (cloud infrastructure, designing top to bottom solutions for real world problems, working with stakeholders to design solutions that fit their workflows, implementing automated testing etc), but there are other areas like allocating work for other developers, being involved in the hiring process and monitoring developer team performance where I haven't had any experience at all.
If I were to move into a new role I would want to retain the freedom to identify a problem and design a solution to fix it (that's the fun part), so it seems I want a senior developer position, but I'm unsure if the way I've learned to program is wholistic enough to deserve a "senior" title at a company with a development team. Could you touch a little more on how to assess where you belong in this ranking system if you're not already at a company with a development team, and maybe give some advice on identifying the gaps that are most necessary to fill to be considered "senior"?

I just wanted to mention, that your video has a duration of 13:37 and I think that is beautiful.

I agree you should use a second camera angle. Your lighting is amazing by the way. I think sometimes the transitions can be a little jarring, whereas other times you do them really well. I think the trick is to not put too many in because otherwise, they become distracting. But your lighting, sound, and overall content are all really good.

    Hi Arjan,
    Thanks for this great video!
May I ask you to make video where you describe: 'How do you stay up to date with technologies?'

As to camera angles. You do you. Good things will happen more often as you learn form the results and feedback. I think you are doing a good job already in the content of your videos, and from responses from you in the past, I think you have a very solid idea of your UA-cam video Objectives and how you want to make them more functional so that other coders can use them. You seem to keep each project simple and focused. You keep your explanation clear and simple. You leave out details that do not help with the current lesson.
How would camera angles help? Maybe you want a different kind of content to express yourself to be added to your current mix? I can see you doing other kinds of videos in the programming world, and other subject matters that would work quite well. Maybe you need an ArjanBeta channel to try out concept?
As another UA-camr says, Its just a thought. ;)

Hi Arjan! I was wondering - what setup/settings/plugins do you use in VSCode? I'm used to use PyCharm, but I see better type checking and static analysis with your setup, especially with protocols. Would you mind sharing your setup?

The second angles, zoom in, and sound effect are distracting for me Arjan - your older videos were much cleaner. Anything distracting needs to be left on the cutting room floor when your viewers are trying to concentrate on coding.
