Holy hell I’d almost forgotten how beautiful it is when Rey and Ben look in each other’s eyes. Thanks for erasing all the progress I made in getting myself away from the fan fiction and tumblr XD. If the actors were anyone else, I don’t think I’d be so into the relationship. Their chemistry is EVERYTHING.
Need I remind everyone that in the elevator scene. She looks at his chest before looking into his eyes. I'm surprised he didn't say, hey Rey! My eyes are up here.
If you look back at Rey training with the lightsaber on Achto, then watch Ben fighting with Luke on Crait - their fighting style is the same! Reys practice was foreshadowing of Bens fight with Luke. That’s why Luke had that strange ominous look on his face while watching her - he recognized Bens fighting technique - and maybe even had some cosmic force foreshadowing of his face off with Ben. This goes back to her learning about the force from Ben in the first force bond/ mind probe in TFA. Because of that exchange, they share a force bond that joins their minds and spirits. And the force sensitive crystals recognize this as well. She’s able to draw upon Kylos lightsaber with the force bc he bled his lightsaber to turn red when he turned to the dark side- thus the reason it is cracked. The lightsaber desires to Obey Ben - or rather the Light Side of Ben - thus Rey is able to summon it now equally with him (as seen at the end of the throne room scene when the crystal splits bc it equally desires to go to Both of them - as his light side awakens within himself after connecting with Rey - the Conduit of the cosmic light side of the force, as well as the living balance to his darkness. Love your videos girls. Good stuff 👍
This would also explain why Luke doesn't seem as surprised as you'd expect him to be when he finds them in the hut. It isn't out of the blue for him. From the moment he saw her using the same moves as his nephew he must have begun to suspect that Ben somehow had an influence on her. When he reconnected to the Force he must have then been able to feel the energy of the Force bond/connections and more or less confirmed his suspicions/fears. It would explain why he was already so frantic on his way to the hut. There was a sense of urgency about the way he was approaching, almost as if he was aware of what was happening (or what he *thought* was happening) inside and was already trying to stop it. I think he felt the Force activity around them in that moment, recognised it as a Force connection, but wrongly assumed the worst, that Ben was using it to manipulate Rey over to the darkside. It scared him, and, understandably, he wanted to stop it. It brought back memories of how Snoke got into Ben's mind and "turned his heart." And he wasn't about to let that happen again.
They are seducing each other so much. It does remind you of a dance of love only Rey hides it away from his conflicted emotions. Its beautiful! When she first appeared on the ship after entering in the pod like snow white in a coffin seeing her enchanted dark Prince , the way she looked at him with blue smoke surrounding him, like "WOW..... " she was complete in awe and he looked at her with trying to stay calm, but looked happy to see her. And this happened after touching fingers in the hut. She does the same amazement reaction after the fight, they just stood there for a moment and she shook it off remembering she had to stop the firing of the Resistance ships. Ben didn't ignore how they both felt. There is clearly love. He reached out just like he did with touching hands scene but more vulnerable and actually showing his feelings more. He wanted her to join him and to let go of the Resistance out of desperation to be with her. He couldn't communicate that he couldn't live without her for a moment and this can explain the sudden force connections calling each other all the time. He's ALWAYS thinking about her and she is with him. Every details matter and it reminds me so much of LOST and Once Upon a Time!
This video is really great, thanks! I do have one thing that I noticed but is not discussed here and that is Rey's flirting with the power that her sexuality has over Ben in the elevator. When she arrives in the coffin, it appears that he doesn't give her the reception that she expected. He's not looking at her the same way as he was in the hut and not at all when they are in the elevator. It appears to me that she attempts to get what she wants (an ally against Snoke in this moment) by getting really close to him physically and speaking in a suggestive, breathy kind of way to control him through sex (not literally but suggestively) and get him to do what she wants. It is then that he looks at her and reveals that its not working and that he believes himself to be in control of the situation and her fate. This is when he reveals his ace up his sleeve by telling her that he knows who her parents are. Suddenly they both are trying to get the upper hand instead of forming an alliance then and there. This is smart for Ben since he can't have the Supreme Leader realizing what has happened once the doors open but I feel that Rey doesn't fully understand. This makes Snoke's interrogation even more terrifying since she suddenly seems to be in way over her head in that moment. Even after the battle with the guards she immediately tells him what to do instead of making sure that they have some sort of understanding worked out. This shows how much she still needs to learn about her powers with the Force/her sexuality/being a massive figure in the fate of the galaxy. She has little to no experience in this realm and is painfully far from being a wise Jedi. This is also why I love her character so much. Much like Luke, she is far from perfect. She is still using her abilities for survival and self preservation and hesitates when given the opportunity for transformation. I would love to know if anyone saw these elements in a similar or different light!
That was really well explained and for most of it I agree. Rey has alot of maturing to do,hopefully this will happen in the next film, as she tends to do things on impulse way to much. As for what happens after the battle I think she was focusing on helping her friends. With Kylo killing snoke she must have thought her vision was coming true and he'd turn and help her but Kylo may have killed his master but he has no love for the resistance..Rey took everything for granted in what she saw . The elevator scene(which was my favourite) was oozing with tension and up until now we hadn't seen that side of her character, I think she definitely wanted his attention and was attracted to him but it backfired a bit when he mentioned her parents..I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens between these two in the next film, hoping JJ doesn't mess it up and undo all that wonderful chemistry they have..
I'm less worried about JJ and more worried about the script that was started by Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow (look up their work - its not promising), abandoned, then picked up by JJ and ... Chris Terrio (barf). I'm actually really worried about this mess. These sort of scenarios don't usually work out that well. I think Johnson had such great results because there were no hiccups in the preproduction right up to the release.
Rian Johnson knew what kind of film he wanted and didn't move from that and in most parts for me it worked well (apart from canto bight, still forward that part everytime I watch the movie) where he really excelled though was with Rey and ben, he has made so many people emotionally invested in that pair it's going to be heartbreaking if JJ doesn't continue with it or give them any or much screen time together..thinking bout it I just wish Disney had made a proper plan of all the three films from the start because I enjoyed TFA and TLJ but you could tell they were written/directed by different people...it's going to be a long year and half....
Like you, I couldn't help but notice the juxtaposition of how Rey and Ben touch fingers at Ach To and don't in the throne room, how Ben is ungloved the first time and gloved the second and what that implication is, of him presenting himself to her as Ben (and is accepted) and as Ren (and is rejected). I've thought of Ben like Elsa from Frozen. Both are shown gloved and ungloved. Both are referred to as monsters. Elsa is more powerful when going glove-less. Potentially, Ben could be, too. Gloved Ben shows that he is insulating himself from the world/universe around him. He doesn't feel safe and in turn doesn't generally act in a safe manner. This is like Elsa before she learned that love was the key to controlling her fear and her power. Ben needs to learn to love and not only hate as well as to find peace amidst his anger. When he de-gloves with Rey, it's just him, no barriers, no hiding, no regret. If the filmmakers choose, they could have him go completely glove-less in ep 9 with him in his full power, both in the light and the dark, letting everyone in his world and ours be blown away with how truly powerful he has become and with him perform force acts never before seen in the Star Wars universe. That's the Ben we all want to see. Him like that with his princess by his side.
The theory of what the pretorian guards symbolized BLEW MY MIND! And the pair of dice analysis was so succinct and thoughtful. Thank you for producing QUALITY content!!!
The letting down of hair symbolism was very clever, I never noticed it before. It's almost the same symbolism with Rapunzel (again going back to the fairytale aspects). I also noticed that the style of Rey's outfit when she comes to Kylo/Ben is a little more feminine, almost like an Grecian dress.
I hate to be that guy, but I have to say it. This is literally the *BEST* birthday present I could have hoped for. Thank you so much for letting me listen to this discussion. ❤️
I do agree with you that as harsh as the whole "You're nothing." Speech from Kylo was it was something she needed to hear. Notice how he prompts her to say it. She knew all along. She just refused to accept it. And as painful as that whole shpeal is what Kylo is saying (or rather trying to say) when he says "You're nothing. But not to me." is "Where you come from doesn't matter. Who your parents were don't matter. You're bloodline doesn't make you special. You're special to me because of who you are. Your talent, your power, your strength is what makes you special to me." But he didn't say that...did he?
When you were talking about the "first time" aspect of the hand-touching scene, I immediately thought of the morning-after scene in "Breaking Dawn: Part 1". Bella wakes up the morning after her wedding. As she walks over to the mirror, she marvels over what Edward made her feel the previous night, and we see brief glimpses of that in her mind. The background song for that moment, "Turning Page", could easily have been used for Rey and Kylo in the hut. Also, you made me giggle so much during this episode. I, too, thought while watching the Praetorian Guard battle, "Uh, sweetie...your hand's kind of far in there."
Speaking of their destiny thing did anyone else notice in force awakens when rey is sitting outside her atat home eating she see's Kylo/Ben's command shuttle breaking orbit? seems like a foreshadow to all this the Reylo thing
Loved your discussion! Maybe Kylo "held back" in the elevator scene because he knew Snoke could read his feelings in the Force and it would put Rey, and himself, in more peril. I also believe Kylo decided to kill Snoke in that same elevator after Snoke humiliated him over his failure to defeat Rey in the forest (how could he kill his love interest?). I wonder if they would have come up with a better plan had Luke not broken up their hand touching Force Skype...they needed more time. I hope JJ & Disney don't mess-up this mythological love story.
watched this video half way, decided I should rewatch TLJI first, paused the video and watched TLJI, realized its a better film than I thought it was, came back and finished this video.
Awesome video!! Literally every aspect of Rey and Kylo were sexual in The Last Jedi. From their steamy and intense stare downs to their “first time” in the hut. Even the Praetorian Guard fight scene. The guard design was strangely kinky, almost like you’d find them waiting for you in a sex dungeon. Can’t wait to see how their relationship moves forward in Episode IX!!
I can't fully express how much joy you`re giving me with all your videos and analysis every time. You're absolutely amazing! So i just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! And please, never stop doing what you`re doing! I will go down with this channel! *sending to each and everyone of you one the biggest of hugs*
This was so, sooooooo GOOD. I've been looking forward to this since you guys first did an episode on the visual imagery on TFA and, as expected, you didn't disappoint. I was smiling like an idiot the entire time. It was so much fun and also really informative. Like, I can't believe I didn't notice the yin-yang symbology in the thigh grab sequence before! Consider me wowed. Thank you so much for always making stellar videos. I'm looking forward to any other imagery videos you might put out as well. This might be the best podcast episode I've listened to so far this year. Best wishes to you all in the connection!
It's reverse Anidala. Just look at the music in the menu of TLJ. It's quite obvious. When Kylo is saying Grandfather I'm going to finish what you started. It's also quite obvious.
OMGosh, you guys...Straight out the gate, you just killed me at 3:59. :D I needed that laugh! Great vid guys, I'm always down to talk shadow and Reylo!
Thanks for making me laugh!! When I was watching this in theaters the third time I was with my best friend and during the elevator scene when Rey is standing right in front of Kylo, I turned to her and whispered, “her hands are cuffed in front of her...” We both started laughing and we had a hard time keeping quiet. If only they would’ve panned out a bit during that scene. Her hands were right there. This movie is so sexy ahhh!!
Thank you so much for the new video! I literally had to pause it at one point to take a fangirling break (the Force can't let Ben and Rey fight cuz IT NEEDS THEM TO MAKE REYLO BABIES)
I didn't get fully on board with raylo because I wasn't sure that was the direction of the film makers. I believe it was one of your videos that discussed the hearts in Kilo's eyes in the interrogation scene. That allowed me to fully accept that they are totally into each other. You guys are so smart. Your intelligence made me a fan.
I'm doing Portuguese subtitle , just because my friend don't understand English... Has been a hard work, but the satisfaction is bigger than the tired moment
You said a few times - "I'm not sure if anyone else felt this way"... it sure as heck worked on me. I NEVER thought about how well subconscious things wormed into my brain. The DAY after watching this movie opening night I was obsessively scouring the internet for a picture of the "thigh grab" or the force bond scenes. As I sit here listening to you I am wearing my Reylo shirt and working on my fan fiction. This imagery is so innate, built into us, it's what we want. So here's a topic to pick apart- why do so many MEN hate this relationship?
What it boils down to? IMO insecurity. A) This film is made with the female gaze in mind when men are used to movies being made for them and, for some men (and women even), that's a problem and B) Some men resent that the Dangerous Bad Boy appeals to a lot of women. At least, those are my takeaways from observed conversations. I don't want to generalize to "all men who dislike Reylo" though as I don't think that's fair.
Felix A - You're SO right! My husband says allll the time "why do women like such JERKS and nice guys are ignored or friend zoned". A woman wants (pardon the pun) a balance! Of bad boy and good guy. But no one's perfect. (Maybe Kylo will be 😆😆😂)
This was brilliant! I love how you drew the connection between Kylo Ren's moment of change and Frodo and the Ring. Also their eyes on each other - so much insight. Love it - thank you x
Another great episode! I was surprised that you didn’t cover some of the additional sexual imagery in the Throne scene, including things like Kylo’s specific manner of killing Snoke.
Well, that was one hell of a ride, in a good way. To be honest, I was waiting for you to mention the fact that once the fight with Luke is over, we see Kylo entering the cave followed by a huge flow of white things... I mean, the storm troopers, obviously.
I also had noticed how the force physically tears Ben and Rey apart when they're about to cross a vital line with each other (ep 7, the ravine opening up between them during their duel, ep 8, the shoving apart while the saber explodes in the throne room--like the force-sensitive saber wants them to pull together instead of apart). This makes me wonder if the force will physically pull them together using their surroundings in a key moment in ep 9 to show us when their relationship is permanently healed.
Louise Johnson I hope that's a piece of visual symbolism they use. They seem to be leaning toward the Rule of Three in a lot of their imagery. Separated twice, Ben knocked on his behind twice, proposal rejected twice, Rey looks back at him from the Falcon twice, etc... the story group is set up for several powerful dramatic reversals they could take advantage of.
Ben smiles a little in the scene where Rey tells him that Luke had told her what had happened when Luke had confronted Ben because he knows Luke didn't tell her the whole truth.
I absolutely LOVE this video. There were so many times this video made me giggle like a school girl! And your memes - OMG, so much fun. Your channel is breath of fresh air for devoted, non-toxic Star Wars fans. #SaveBenSolo #REYLO
This was such a good podcast! The Reylo visual imagery/storytelling to me is so interesting. You guys do such a great job! I am going to miss so much all of your Reylo discussions when this trilogy is over though... Sads...
Aw, thanks! 😊 A lot of us here are Ben Solo stans, and I'd be surprised if TPTB didn't do something Young Ben Solo (Ben and Luke's relic hunting, for instance) after the trilogy is done. Plus, if Snoke's "seed" talk is any indication, there are always Reylo babies. I'm sure we'll have a continued stream to pull from.
I like how these podcasts talk about the mental states of Ben and Rey. Ben definitely has some kind of PTSD thanks to Snoke. Irl one way to treat PTSD is therapy dogs. Maybe at the end of Episode 9 we'll have Ben and Rey starting their Grey Jedi Temple and raising a flock of Porgs, which are cute af. Whenever Ben starts feeling on edge he can curl up with one those things until he's better. Ah, just a thought.
That was a great video! Being a Reylo Shipper, I was happy to hear about those two and what symbolism have been associated with them. I was surprised by the sexual turning of the symbolisms, but as I kept listening, it felt like so much sense!!! I can't wait to see the next movie and I hope everything you covered here will result in the next Star Wars! Great job, it was really interesting :D
I absolutely love your videos, you girls are awesome! I can't stop telling my male friends about all these things you say because their reactions are priceless 😆
You're actually not right about the kyber crystal in the Skywalker lightsaber - if you look carefully when Rey is holding it while talking to Leia (just after "How do we build the Rebellion from this?") you can see in a split-second, just before Leia's hand touches Rey's that there are two halves of fragmented crystal in the lightsaber halves (the broken heart? Broken hearts also mend).
Thank you for the correction! We recorded this waaaay back in December before the crystal being split was clarified by TPTB. Probably should have included that as a visual blurb.
Ah - an older recording date makes perfect sense! I did wonder in light what you ladies were saying about the sexual metaphors (birthing the Rebellion) if the two halves of the weapon represent something like twins or the dividing ovum? Thanks for the reply. :)
Great video! I've always been sure that Reylo was a go but this video just really solidified everything I think and took away all of my insecurities. Thanks guys!
Regarding costume choices, Rey’s lips are bright red when she comes back from seeing the cave entrance during her lesson with Luke (“...You went straight to the dark side...”). All other scenes her lips are various shades of pink. I’d love to see Rey wear some clothing with red during IX.
I love your videos! You point out so many things I never noticed, but when you say them they are so right. And when you start giggling over a point it makes my day.
I sure hope episode 9 does justice to the amazing imagery, passion, and amazing character development between Rey and Ben/Kylo! Wow! Your thoughts regarding the crystal, and the shell of the lightsaber are amazing! Never would have thought of that 47:25
Oh and about the whole you’re nothing scene, In the beginning Snoke says something along the lines of, I thought you would be a new Vader, but you’re just a child in a mask. From TFA we know Kylo’s greatest fear is not being as strong as Vader. And then in the end, Kylo ends up doing the same to Rey, trying to manipulate her with her greatest fear, using his old masters awful tactics. So I thought it was interesting how those scenes parallel a bit.
I don't think he means it in a bad way. It just shows Snoke's influence on him, which is only natural. This method worked on him, so he thinks this is how you convince someone to stand with you. Clearly he has a lot of un-learning to do.
Kristen Aigro Not everyone in the podcasting community is in agrement on this, but I personally share your take for several reasons. 1. Rian Johnson said Ben's proposal is a "sick, evil" version of the Notting Hill proposal. He acknowledges Ben thinks he is being honest and openly emotional, but is careful to make it clear what he says to Rey is an awful thing to say to someone. 2. Ben's characterization has been consistent with someone who has been abused and traumatized, and we saw Snoke use the same method (build up, tear down) on Ben early on in the film -- abuse survivors don't just walk away from their abusers normally functioning people -- it takes time to "unlearn what you have learned". 3. Ben will get better because that is what's foreshadowed and it's also the shape his character arc is taking. We will be discussing his arc on an upcoming episode about the villainous crush trope.
On a completely different note, after reading the novelization, I’m so shook I didn’t get to see that dancing scene between Rey and Luke. Because I feel like that’s such an important thing for Rey. Like she never had parents and the whole time I read this all I could think was that it was such a father-daughter moment. Even though they ground each other’s gears it just seems so like that to me.
@Brooklyn, yup. This was also Mary's read of it in our novelization "opposing viewpoints" discussion. Rey and Luke have a father-daughter dance before she goes off with her groom Kylo/Ben. The symbolism is certainly there!
What if.....the lightsaber split because it is now drawn to....wait for it....their Force baby! It doesn't belong to either of them anymore. :D Or it could be that she's going to make herself a badass lightstaff.
This was excellent as usual, thank you! I was wondering if you could cite the sources for the info on the history of the black diamond, especially in relation to marriage (in a reply to this comment or description)? Thanks again!
.....I just had a thought. The grey Jedi concept is very similar to the anima/animus concept. Both light and dark aspects being found in one person. Omg more analysis is needed because this comparison applies to humans in general with positive and negative emotions and thoughts. This is why I love the sequel trilogy. There is so much to look at and pick apart.
.....Disney in a nutshell XD. Jk. On a more serious note, I can’t believe more people aren’t getting all of this symbolism. Even subconsciously. Maybe they are and it makes them uncomfortable? Idk. Ooh a whole psychological investigation into how people pick up on such symbolism and react to it sounds really cool. I wish there were psychologists willing to do something like that though.
I think you may be right, Julia, about the discomfort element. People who hate the new films are reacting in very interesting ways from a psychological perspective.
@Wien1938 I agree with you, it's all very interesting. I will point out that there are people who LOVE Reylo in TLJ but still strongly rejected the movie as a whole. And actually as far as I'm aware most people who hated the movie didn't really have a problem with the Reylo dynamics. As far as the psychodynamic underpinnings of TLJ, for me the most fascinating aspect of it is the premise that Luke is beloved by the creative team, but the character is then degraded in ways both subtle and overt throughout the film. If you frame that through a lens of the various defense mechanisms, especially the more primitive ones, that becomes fascinating indeed. Insofar as Luke is representative of traditional Star Wars films and the fans who love them, TLJ essentially pulled a Kylo Ren and drove a lightsaber right through the heart of its "parent". It's a catastrophic failure to resolve an oedipal conflict of sorts, because you don't actually have to kill your parent in order to establish your own identity. Speaking for myself, this is the biggest failure I see in TLJ. You CAN be new and different without bulldozing over everything that came before. Old things DON'T have to be destroyed in order to make way for the new, imo. 🤷♀️
TLJ really reminds me of the dynamics from "Tangled." It's funny how people didn't get that Rapunzel's crown is code for her virginity. Some of this stuff is so blatant that I'm continuously shocked at how people claim not to see it.
+RawkMode Interesting point. Now that I think about it, "I See The Light" seems to parallel the Four Seasons song "Oh, What A Night", which is about losing one's virginity.
1. I love hearing your videos and listening to all you ladies ''theories'', you guys are FUNNY...as...hell! Plus the literary connection, mixed with thoughtful imagery is a nice touch regarding Reylo. 2. Kylo Ren really doesn't smile....he amusingly smirks and 42:32 Vagina Resistance Cave????? O_o 3. 44:50 How is it NONE of you weren't dying when she gave that explanation, I would have been rooolling on the floor! :-D 4. 51:38 Personally I call it 'Finger Porn'... :-/
I am willing to bet money - that the cosmic force is like over the light and dark fighting. It just wants them to be together and to move forward into proper communion with each other like it once was when they had to meditate on each other. That to me literally sounds comparable to a marriage being reconciled. I think this supports that the force users need to separate from their causes - and commune with each other since the force is now a forgotten deity of legend and not of great presence amongst the galactic realm. This would mean both Rey and Ben walking away from their respective causes or plans and just go off and be together. Study the force together.
@Abbey, @Summer Osborne: Well. I love you too. u_u And I also miss Denise, we are talking her into putting her awesome RL on hold for a minute and chat Star Wars with me again.
My RL is not awesome. Too busy... Guys, we're planning lots of awesome stuff. One thing I love about Star Wars Connection is the diversity of speakers, though, so it's cool to hear other people as well.
Ben and Reys force connections is similar to Snow and Charming from Once Upon a Time with them always saying to each other, " I will always find you." Their love is so strong that they can't be apart no matter where they are. They always knew where to find each other. They were surrounded by burning fire in an episode in Season 2 I believe when Charming looked for Snow in Henry's dream to find out where they were separated to (in the enchanted forest) and Charming got stuck in it after taking a sleeping curse just to find her. Disney had that show on ABC for 7 years..... its reminding me of it now and LOST which JJ Abraham's wrote and directed. There was a lot of mythologies in that show which I loved.
I love your visual metas! I know about your specific tumblr, yet if you have a separate one (or websites) for written metas, I shall be greedy - let me know! :D
Wonderful video! You girls rock. I have enjoyed so much all the details pointed here! One thing I would like to add although I didn't have the chance to see if someone has noticed another thing about the final fight at Snoke room. That scene being they having sex, towards the end of it she bleeds and the wound we see on her arm, again, looks very much like a bleeding vagina and we remember the simbolism of a virgin having her first sexual relation. All the detaisl you've picked up were spot on!!!!! Cheers!
It did and good catch. We recorded this back when TLJ was still in theaters (December), before that had been clarified. Should have put in a visual blurb about it for accuracy.
Marcos Zottas It's true. All of it. 👍
Where is the lie! ROFL!
To me it looked like she was staring at his lips! 😃
I always notice that every time I watch that scene :P
Emily Peterson She looks way below his lips. It's quite obvious she's looking at his chest.
The video we’ve all been waiting for! We eatin’ good tonight, Reylos
Visual storytelling has been such a huge part of this trilogy, I'm glad you all are here to discuss it.
That's why I love these movies so much. This is literally my favourite thing in the world aside from music, which it equals.
I don't say this enough, but you're amazing. This video is SOOOO good. I already know I'll be listening like 20 times over.
You all are so amazing finding all this symbolism in the most subtle scenes. Love watching these! Can't wait for the next!
Your talent, your power, your strength is what makes you special to me."
But he didn't say that...did he?
I screamed when I saw the notification for a new video, you girls are the best! ^-^
DragonRebelRose "you are not alone"...
DragonRebelRose 😙😙😙
Y’all got me here past my bedtime. Yet, here I am!🤷🏽♀️😃👍🏽
watched this video half way, decided I should rewatch TLJI first, paused the video and watched TLJI, realized its a better film than I thought it was, came back and finished this video.
Adam Taucher OMG RIGHT! I don’t understand why people still think they can be siblings!
Mariia Khafizova 🤗🤗🤗
That close-up of Kylo Ren's two fingers at that moment killed me! 42:57
Oh nice, just found myself in a reylo binge and you guys upload!
I'm always in a reylo binge.
Jennifer McCoy I feel ya 😭
You said a few times - "I'm not sure if anyone else felt this way"... it sure as heck worked on me. I NEVER thought about how well subconscious things wormed into my brain. The DAY after watching this movie opening night I was obsessively scouring the internet for a picture of the "thigh grab" or the force bond scenes. As I sit here listening to you I am wearing my Reylo shirt and working on my fan fiction. This imagery is so innate, built into us, it's what we want. So here's a topic to pick apart- why do so many MEN hate this relationship?
And the movie
(Maybe Kylo will be 😆😆😂)
I giggled the whole time
This was brilliant! I love how you drew the connection between Kylo Ren's moment of change and Frodo and the Ring. Also their eyes on each other - so much insight. Love it - thank you x
Another great episode! I was surprised that you didn’t cover some of the additional sexual imagery in the Throne scene, including things like Kylo’s specific manner of killing Snoke.
blackeyedlily please explain! Would love to understand that ♥️🙏🏻
With his fingers? Lmao
Well, that was one hell of a ride, in a good way. To be honest, I was waiting for you to mention the fact that once the fight with Luke is over, we see Kylo entering the cave followed by a huge flow of white things... I mean, the storm troopers, obviously.
You girls ROCK!!! I love your in depth analysis. Spot on and funny AF! ^^
This is my favorite podcast so far! Loved it!!! It was like watching TLJ again but even better! Reylo forever! Great job guys!
Just booked a Celebration 2019 room in Chicago! Hope to meet some SW Connection fans there!
We are so there! ^^
I cannot count how many times I blushed listening to this breakdown.....😳
I absolutely LOVE this video. There were so many times this video made me giggle like a school girl! And your memes - OMG, so much fun. Your channel is breath of fresh air for devoted, non-toxic Star Wars fans. #SaveBenSolo #REYLO
Hell yess! You girls rock!
My school final week just became my happiest week!!!😝 Thank you guys for uploading this long waited video!!!💖
Stephanie Q Good luck on your finals!
The BB model droids were designed as therapy droids for war veterans in canon. Maybe Ben needs his own BB unit.
You guys managed to make everything that includes the two of them sexual. I’ll never see the movie the same again 🤣
Awesome discussion! Thanks ladies your videos always make my day!
2:45 Han also did the slide in one of the originals
iluvboaz Signature Solo Slide (tm)
Felix A - Oh my god it's official now. Get with the merchandise.
That was great! Can't wait for Episode 9!
My body is reaaaaady
I absolutely love your videos, you girls are awesome! I can't stop telling my male friends about all these things you say because their reactions are priceless 😆
Can't wait to sit down and listen to this podcast later tonight! ;)
Thanks guy's can't wait to listen!!!!
You guys blew my mind like 5 times in this one!!! I can't believe it!
Wonderful analysis! I always look forward to hearing your insights. Thank you for doing these and please keep them coming!
You guys are awesome! Thanks so much... these videos keep the Hope going...
I just love your analysis. It actually mirrors some of my own thoughts about TLJ
Thank you so much for this video, ladies! It was soo interesting and awesome and well-worded throughout
Diamonds are created under pressure..wink wink
Great video! I've always been sure that Reylo was a go but this video just really solidified everything I think and took away all of my insecurities. Thanks guys!
I feel the need to send this video to my psychology teacher😂💕
Awesome stuff - you guys are amazing 🖤👍
OMG! Love you gals!! Thank you!
The hand touch scene reminds me of an old Hand-fasting Ceremony.
Regarding costume choices, Rey’s lips are bright red when she comes back from seeing the cave entrance during her lesson with Luke (“...You went straight to the dark side...”). All other scenes her lips are various shades of pink. I’d love to see Rey wear some clothing with red during IX.
Thank you so much, can't wait to listen!
Never would have thought of that 47:25
Girls... This is perfect! Really...
Can't wait for your next vid :)
I love this!!!
There are so many details in this video I'm gonna watch it a few times haha
I love this!!!!
very nice
No dislikes! :D
So great, as usual! Thanks!
All I can say is wow. Awesome. Thank you. Ellie Holmes
You guys are great! I'd love to hear your take on the EPIX leaks!
I cracked up at the calligraphy part 😂
Research "subliminal messaging" AND "psychological studies". You'll fall down an entire rabbit hole.
You should look up the lyrics to the song 'Stratovarius - Black Diamond' goes well with them.
3. 44:50 How is it NONE of you weren't dying when she gave that explanation, I would have been rooolling on the floor! :-D
4. 51:38 Personally I call it 'Finger Porn'... :-/
Watching this again, I remember feeling that Rey and Ben both had "Goodbye, my love" looks on their faces, just before Rey shuts the Falcon's door.
I LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVE UR GUYS PODCAST! MAKE MOOOOOORRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEE!
I MISS DENISE!
Jaydeekatt me too! And the other lady that usually pairs with her, I forgot her name.
Summer Osborne - I believe you're thinking of Lee. Yeah I always look out for her and miss her when she's not in the discussion. :)
@Abbey, @Summer Osborne: Well. I love you too. u_u
And I also miss Denise, we are talking her into putting her awesome RL on hold for a minute and chat Star Wars with me again.
Email us any time if you're interested in more. ^^
!! Will do! Thank you!
Cheers!
Great episode! Didn’t the novel say that the crystal split? Or did I read it wrong?
It did and good catch. We recorded this back when TLJ was still in theaters (December), before that had been clarified. Should have put in a visual blurb about it for accuracy.
Wonderful
Have u guys watched solo yet? Haven’t seen a video besides the one on the trailer
Hey click, not all of us have watched/are going to. We are putting a team together to do a review soon! Did you like it?
Yeah I thought it was really good. The actor did super well for solo. It fit him
