Women are the white background of the Torah scroll, because we're the intimate, the "inside", the hidden aspect so to speak, whereas, the male is the external - visible aspect. We read letters we don't read blank spaces. However, letters are written on a blank sheet of papers so that they are visible and readable. One cannot exist without the other. Powerful concept. Thank you!

Cut up an onion. Pour honey over it. Let it sit in a glass jar covered. Take a spoonful when you cough. Store it in fridge. Refuah Sheleimah

I have often wondered with letters such as Alef, which are “silent”, why Gd created them at all. Like Kabbalah does with everything in life, it now makes complete sense to me. Alef is silent but we know it’s there,
Just like we may not physically “see” Gd himself he is present and impactful, without needing to shout. He is so powerful, he is constant, ever present, yet doesn’t have to exert his power forcibly, Alef illustrates this beautifully. Alef does not need to even make a sound for those who understand to know it is there. Thank you for your lessons and sharing your wisdom to help others live their best lives through sharing the wisdom of Hashem.

What I’m trying to say is, Alef CAN be silent, and other times not, depending on the situation, much like Gd can choose to illuminate what he wants and keep in darkness what He wants. It’s no coincidence that in His grand design, Hashem would reflect letters with characteristics like Him!

This was the beginning of HaSatan's sin according to the Book of Melchizedek. It says that "Lucifer" wanted to know not only what was covered in light, but also the darkness of night. This was the start of his rebellion which eventually culminated in his sin of tempting Eve to disobey Elohim.

The Book of 1 Enoch says in Chapter 18 that Enoch was shown 7 mountains: 3 red mountains to the south, 3 mountains of Jacinth, Pearl, and Colored Stone to the East, and 1 Mountain between them of Alabaster with a Sapphire Throne on top. These 7 mountains represent the 7 dimensions outside our physical world (combined represents 10 sephirot). The 2 sets of 3 mountains represent the 2nd and 3rd heavens above the 1st heaven (physical world we see). The 7th Mountain is the Throne of Almighty God and represents the ultimate command of time over all creation. Genesis 1:1 says "Heavens and Earth", showing there are multiple heavens since heavens is plural. These two heavens above were also created in Genesis 1:1 in addition to the 1st heaven.

Love the shiur_ Question what if your name has more than one word? If you are reading tehillim, Should you read the chapters in 119, For both names are just the first?

Thank you Rabbi for another great shiur. Refuah Shlemah. I do have a question. When you combine your name with neshama, do we start with the first letter of our name or with nun from neshama as I’ve heard both opinions in the past. And for reading Tehillim: I have 4 Hebrew names (Briah Bakol Ana Elisheva) and it takes ages to read them for my name… Can you also read Tehillim for only the name people call you by? In my case, only letters for Briah? And the name pasuk we say should it be one with the first letter of Briah and the last letter of Elisheva or the last latter of Briah, or 4 pasukim, one for each name?
Maybe you can tell a bit more about these topics in a future class as I think lots of people with more than one name have these questions. Todah Rabah.

      Start with neshama.
The name that everyone use is the name that need to be read.
