Sir. I have two items with hdmi out. One has optical out to a sound bar. I have a DVD player. (Only hdmi) the TV has hdmi am optical in. The second one sounds nice. What do you think
I’m on my 3rd splitter. The first 2 have failed. I use the splitter when running the av (volunteer for charity) for a group meeting once a month. The 4 port splitters don’t seem to last very long. I’ve used them with a good quality surge protector so that’s not the issue. They are great, until they die. I typically keep a spare so I can swap it out quickly and keep thing going.

Hello. I have looked online and cannot find much info on the HDMI matrix, but have a question. Will it allow me to ‘extend’ my laptop connection with different monitors, rather than just duplicate what’s on my laptop to said monitors? Thanks
I don't believe it will, it takes one input and outputs it to both screens meaning you wouldn't get a second screen but instead it would duplicate the image from display one and show it on display 2
You need a multi-port adapter. It plugs into your one output slot and makes three separate outputs, then in your settings you just make sure it detects all the monitors and sends the correct signal to each
What you would need is a USB dock to add additional outputs to your laptop. Depending on the specs of your laptop however, you may not be able to have that many stable outputs.
Does Orei make any splitter that can actually display 2 different hdr formats at the same exact time? For example can you display dolby vision on 2 tvs and HDR10 PLUS ON THE 3RD AND/OR 4TH TV at the same time?
Are you asking if the same source can output multiple formats, or if a splitter can show multiple formats? A matrix would be able to display different formats per output, same as a switch, however, on a splitter, every tv would get the same format.
@Linx_s for example if you have 3 tvs. 2 are displaying a dolby vision hdr format. But let's say the 3rd tv does not display dolby vision. Then hiw does the hdmi splitter display the image when the source that's in the in port is prioritizing the dolby vision hdr format?

Can we split the signal by taking one of the outputs from the Matrix device? Also I saw your 8 output splitter using cat, one transmitter and 8 receiver, will that not require an additional network switch? Also will the resolution adjustment be different for different output devices depending on the device compatibility?
Hi, You can use a Splitter at the Matrix output to split the signal. The 1x8 Splitter over CAT actually doesn't work with a Network switch. The Transmitter and Receivers need to be connected directly. Some of our models do support Downscaling so you will be able to have different resolution on different outputs.

Hi, thanks for the amazing explanation. I do have a few questions regarding the splitter. If I have for example my gaming console on but I want to display on one display and have the other turned off Is that possible or do I have to have both displays on simultaneously? Because in the video you showed the splitter doing its job of course, but I was wondering if I could have one of the displays off while the input is just outputting to one of the displays, not both at the same time.
When one device is sharing two displays you will only get the resolution of the LOWEST display on both. This is an EDID HDMI limitation and needs to be it's own video.
