    Introducing Aria: The Standmount Speaker That Redefines Holographic Imaging!
    *Say hello to Aria.* Latin for *Air*, this 17" high, 6" wide, and 17" deep standmount loudspeaker is designed to deliver holographic imaging and unmatched soundstage layering. Weighing in at 30 pounds each, this 2-way speaker is a masterpiece in the making. Currently estimated to retail around **$3500 per pair**, Aria will be available exclusively at GR-Research in three stunning color options:
    White with maple side panels
    Black with walnut side panels
    Dark grey with a stained cherry-like finish on walnut
    The prototype you see in this video isn’t the final version, but trust me-when the production model is ready, it’ll be cleaner, sleeker, and even more refined.
    *Key Features:*
    Linear sound signature for incredible accuracy and detail
    LGK 2.0 drivers enhanced for natural, airy, and open presentation
    Rear-firing LGK driver for added ambiance, making the speaker sound far larger than its size suggests
    Exclusive use of Tube Connector terminals
    And here’s the kicker: Aria is just the beginning. This speaker is the first of three models under the New Record Day branding, and I couldn’t be more excited to share this journey with you all.
    A Word About My Role
    To address the elephant in the room: I have no financial interest in these speakers. My collaboration with GR-Research and Danny Richie is purely out of passion for Hi-Fi and creating something extraordinary for the audiophile community. I’m not making a dime from these speakers.
    Aria represents everything I’ve ever wanted in a loudspeaker, and being part of this project is an honor I hold dearly.
    More to Come
    This is just the beginning, folks. Once the finished samples are ready, I’ll dive deeper into measurements, sound clips, and everything else you’ve come to expect from my channel. And for those curious about the other models in the lineup, stay tuned-they’re going to be just as exciting.
    Danny and I will be hosting a livestream in the coming days to answer all your questions and discuss anything I may have missed in this video.
    *Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one.*
    Cheers to Aria, and to all you audiophiles who make this journey worth it.

    Look, i think I speak for most of us out here. With any bookshelf speakers, we are going to be paring them with a subwoofer period... So as long as the bookshelf speaker reaches to at least 60hz, then that's perfectly fine. Oh and this Aria is definitely a fine speaker well worth the price!

    add 500-800$ for the shipping in Europe and on top of that 20-22% taxes, so around 5K Euros, start to be really expensive for Europeans. Wish we had our GR Research :D, can"t get anything here without bumping the price 50% up from GR initial price.

    Thank you for this video! I have large DIY open baffle speakers (compression horn tweeter, 10” midrange and dual 15” woofers). When I started the project, I thought they would be in one location in our home. However an overall better room opened up (thank God for Murphy beds! LOL!).
    However, all rooms come with issues. This room forces me to setup the speakers along the long wall (17.5’) which means I can just get my speakers out 3’ from the front wall. I have relative freedom to use room treatments in this room, but the hard part is figuring out where to start. I think I now know: diffusers behind each speaker. Thanks

    OK Ron so you have now discovered direct and reflected sound. Your next discovery could be varying the ratios of both to match the radiation pattern to the room. Have you measured the radiation pattern on these yet? Positioning - place them 1/4 of the room width in from the side walls and an equal amount from the front wall. Then pull them forward a little for your listening position and a little better dispersion and depth to the rear. Aim them for time/intensity trading by sitting in a right or left side seat and toeing them in to recenter the center image. It will then be just right for left, center, and right seats. Finally, if you want to go wild try reversing the phase of the rear driver and see what happens. I love the idea of the open baffle version for a similar effect with the woofer.

I have a pair of dipole towers with elements in back and I’m getting another pair of speakers to replace them. The cost is high to me for standmounts. I’ve paid that for my Arendal 1723 towers but less than 3K for my Revel standmounts with beryllium tweeters which sound amazing in my listening room. What is the real world dynamic range before the woofer starts to distort (95 dbs). 3. How does it image in regards to a three dimensional soundstage and instrument location (world class, when setup correctly in a treated room). The only remaining question will likely apply to all interested future customer: Will there be a 30 day return policy (real at home trial). @@GoggleAX0K Stand by for a RANT, my friend! 😂
      I have been building speakers since the 70s. Basically just putting drivers in boxes and building crossovers. But recently I have been experimenting in a few unique acoustic features. Namely having an open FR or coaxial driver on top of the box, ran with a woofer in the box. It's point source and dipole with just one source, making it more point source than Danny's. And still dipole!
      My crossover FR with the big open 10" coaxials would be also about 250 hz (cos the open driver is so large). And on my 5" open FR version, the cr fr of the FR would be about 400 hz (I can easily hear 250 hz come from the open 5" driver, on a test fr). Try an open FR (connected straight to the speaker binding posts) and mounted on top of the box (at a slight slope back) with heaps of Blue Tack (for initial trials).
      If you have bi-amp binding posts on a pair of speakers, you can disconnect the tweeter binding post and connect the open FR to the woofer BP. I did it with my B&W 706 speakers and they completely smoked the original speakers. 😂 Just with a direct connection. But I use a filter on the FR to handle more power, filtering the bass out of the FR and making it less shouty and more sparkle.
      But it pretty much does it acoustically by itself without a filter (way less shouty than in a box). And the lower med in the woofer plays up to the whispery sound of the open FR (like a 2-way). And the open med to treble cohesion is a jewel to behold that you simply don't get with "normal" 2-ways or 3-ways. 😮 They are point source and dipole from one medrange/treble source. The most powerful image!
      Get a big box and put a big 10" woofer in it with a large inductor and what I said on top. You need deep bass to complement the insanely holographic image of the top drivers. The deep bass makes it even more 3D. 🎉
      You will hear stuff outside that isn't outside, and from the speakers. A low flying jet went over our house (I even looked out the window) with my speakers a metre from me. Till I eventually realised that the jet was in my speakers! And that wasn't the coaxials, it was the FR job. I didn't have the coaxials then. And many other instances, similar. My friend thought his phone was beeping in his hand, when it was my coaxial speakers (10 ft away). 😂

      @@GoggleAXUmm, my setup. At the moment I have a tablet, plugged into a NAD C356B amp and my open 10" coaxials ran with a 10" woofer in the box. I also have my reference speakers (for my speaker building) B&W 706 speakers. And an Audiolab 6000A amp and matching Audiolab CD transport. And a few other cheaper amps. And 3 other sets of FR plus boxed woofer speakers (in my room). Plus 3 more sets of speakers I made and gave away.Tell me your setup. 🎉

My question is will the electronics (technology) of my equipment interfere or otherwise neutralize/alter the technology of these speakers in that they appear to be designed to give a holographic imaging effect to "Standard" stereo amplification systems. DUDE, Come On, man!
      Seriously, watch and LISTEN to EXACTLY what Danny says about these speakers starting at 4:40 in his own announcement video.
      Write it down word-for-word and then read it back to yourself...carefully.
      It's EXACTLY as the commenter @justasimplefox has stated. Delusional.

      Danny is a lot of things and delusional is not one of them. He has told me a number of times that these have become his favorite speakers. And hers is the thing: he’s not the only one - he’s had folks stop by for comparisons and so far - while some understand the Xtremes do a lot more things that Aria can’t do / they all prefer the holographic imaging and soundstage of Aria.

    These speakers should be a real technical advancement but the box design looks like something out of the 1990's. Perhaps something more aesthetic?

    How would you compare the idea of this "enhanced response" to Yamaha NS-2000a's voicing? I have the later and love it for it. I know this is controversial to some, but it gives a very lifelike sound. Interested in knowing if this Aria would compare (but in a bookshelf form factor"

    • @Newrecordday
      @Newrecordday  13 днів тому +3

      That’s a fair comparison and having heard both, this is a completely different league of that same effect. This is way better at providing a holographic presentation in vocals than the 2000s, which sound rather thin in comparison.

    Ron- How do these compare to NX Studio? These new ones need to be brought out into the room and I don’t think I have the space.

    • @dannyrichie9743
      @dannyrichie9743 12 днів тому +3

      The NX Studio has a higher upper level detail levels and are more flexible in where they are placed. Overall they are one of the best sounding stand mounted speakers that money can buy. The Aria takes the vocal region, imaging, and sound stage layering to new levels. Image focus and layering is all off the charts.

    Why Aria? Hifiman makes a very popular headphone called Aria. Every time I hear Aria i think of Hifiman.

    • @bbfoto7248
      @bbfoto7248 11 днів тому

      The Hifiman headphones have the same phonetic name but the Hifiman are spelled "ARYA", not "ARIA".
      However, one of Focal's well established series of loudspeakers are, in fact, named "ARIA".
