It's salt water. Boutiliers Cove is located in the village of Hackett's Cove and the next cove toward Peggy's Cove is actually called Hackett's Cove. Both coves are inlets in St. Margaret's Bay. When I said used to be, it's when I was a kid. The fishermen would come ashore in the evening with their boats loaded to the gunnels. That's about 6 inches above water. I'd go down on my bicycle and buy a dozen or so of mackerel and sell them to the locals. Great way to make a dollar or two in an evening. That would have been in the mid fifties.
