AZ beat Ajax 3-2 to progress through the quarter final.[6]" It's a pity the keeper didn't get a good clean kick at him and take out the fucking delinquent's teeth...
Totally disagree with the first one. The goalie should´ve been banned for kicking him while he´s laying on the ground (red card was absolutely right by the way - no opinion for the ref) and Alkmaar shoud´ve been punished for just leaving the pitch. You are taking the idea "don't kick somone when they're down" too literally. Yes, it's dishonourable to keep beating on someone when they are defeated - whether they are on the floor OR still standing! But a couple of seconds after he's been attacked, it's too early to make that decision. You have to look after yourself in this world. You can't rely on anyone else - not even always on those who are paid to do so.
There is a difference between defense and retaliation. I honestly feel in this case, the goal keeper was attacked and defended himself against an aggressor he reasonably could think was not done attacking him. I mean, even on the ground the aggressor kept throwing kicks at him. The goal keeper's kicks were literally aimed at the aggressor's legs. All of his use of force were directed at the imminent threat as a means to stop that threat. At no point did he retaliate or was his reaction disproportional to the threat, it fact, he was very restrained. Self-defense is not warrant for a red card.
No it is not like if another players kicks you and you kick back. Because the fan cannot get a red card in the match. Yeah he can get a fine, maybe even jail if he harms someone, but thats pretty much it. Also it is his fucking decision he goes to the pitch in the first place... The player on the other hand. What is he supposed to do when a man goes near him threatening his life? Oh jeez better not kick him because you know I may get a red card.
it wasn't "violent conduct" because the fan ran at him and attacked him. he was defending himself. even kicking the guy on the ground is trying to make sure the guy doesn't get back up and attack him with a weapon he might have. good on the AZ manager to say fuckoff we're leaving.

An Ajax fan attacked the AZ goalie, the goalie fought back and by the rules, the ref had to give him a red card for that, which if ofcourse ridiculous. The AZ coach was outraged with the decision of the ref so he stopped the match.
Ajax hooligans enters the pitch and attacks the AZ goalie. The goalie protects himself and kicks the hooligan...the referee proceeds to give him the red card. AZ-manager Verbeek decides to take his team off the pitch because of this. I'm an Ajax fan, but this was a good call from Verbeek.
the black shirt guy attack first well the good thing is he only got kicked by goalie but what if he got kicked by the rest of the team you know what happen if it does
Dunno what rules you have, but tell me where in the rulebook it says that ref can overlook that kind of incident. Instead, ref has to "enforce Laws of the Game". Of course he has "the final call", but no red card here would have been a major mistake in the eyes of the referee observers. As you can see from the replay, the goalie kicks the guy _twice_ when he is already on the ground. That's violent conduct to any referee, no matter what anyone thinks. No red card would have been a mistake here.
+kflem80 It's first your personal safety than any trivial football game; He was under attack so He did what He had to do cause he didn't know what was happening.

***** Yeah man, the guy was on the ground so the kicks were uncalled in some way and I respect that point of view for sure. Sometimes people just lose it :( .
+kflem80 the fan deserved it..the keeper acted in self defense..if you attack someone you should be ready to face the consequences ! the ref was wrong !!
+Deecky Rizzo The 'fan' did aggravated assault on a player. Using violence with means to injure. There is nothing about kicking the fuck out of the fan to defend himself from that in the rulebook. Think again next time.
epicgaminggames That is actually what IS IN the rules. You can't kick anyone on the field. That's why the referee showed red card. I think it was well deserved, even if it was self defence. He's a professional in work hours... you can't do that in any job. And there are people in charge of those fans. And shut up with your "think again" shit... everyone has an opinion, and people who doesn't share yours, aren't less "smart" than you... just listen theirs and give yours, if they change their opinion, that's well, but if not... it doesn't concern to you.
epicgaminggames It's too difficult to me to explain the rules, because i don't speak english very well, but i think it's common sense to think KICKS on the field is against the rules. So, anyway... i'm glad the ref did his job even against the opinion of people who think kicking the shit out of a person is OK.
I think your English is quite good. But you're basically saying that just a kick against anything is against the rules. I know that's not what you mean. But still. Still think the red card was unnecessary and that card did take it's toll for both Ajax and the ref his reputation.
The situation is that an ajax "supporter" attacks the goalkeeper of AZ. The referee gives the red card to the goalkeeper which is according to the rules. In following of that the coach of AZ decides to send his players inside and to stop the match.Totally chaos at all.
De Boer said he doesn't know how he would have reacted if he got attacked on the pitch. The referee explains why he went for a straight red. He says that he saw the goalkeeper kept on kicking the fan when he was already on the ground. That's an aggressive action by the goalkeeper, which lead to the red card since aggressive actions are forbidden by the FIFA-rules.
I'm afraid I am not. It has happened plenty of times in English football where a fan has run on to the field of play, been kicked / tripped / wrestled to the ground by a player, who has subsequently been sent off. I don't agree with the rule, I think if a fan attacks a player the rulebook should be thrown out the window, but I'm afraid it is not.
jaa ik was daarbij. Niet dat Verbeek geen punt heeft maar ik vind het wel een lul dat hij de wedstrijd voor iedereen in het stadion verneukt door weg te gaan. Tot zover mijn leuke avondje ajax
It's not the referee's fault he did what the rule book said him to do. It's not the goalkeepers fault either.. It's actually the security guards fault they can't do their job properly
Sure defend yourself, but if you go as far as to repeatedly 'assault' the fans then you can see where the ref had to give the red card. (I use the word 'assault' lightly, I could not think of a better word to describe the keepers actions)
It's hard to discern not knowing Dutch and all, but the keeper was attacked from behind by a fan and in return kicked him a couple times (a bit harder than he needed to, I'll say) and the ref red carded someone ELSE? or did he card the keeper? And the coach took all his players and left the game afterwards? Dutchmen are crazy.
I'm confused as to why you keep referring to the law. Nobody is claiming the keeper should have been arrested, just that he was right to have been sent off by the referee.
Good decision making of the referee. Kicking when someone is on the ground isn’t self defense anymore. It’s the same energy as the fan rushing to kick the goalkeeper. Self defense was done first. Attacking after which means red card.
he's not clueless. He is there to follow the rules as they are written on the day of the match. As unfair as it may sound, the keeper attacked the 'fan' AFTER he was already on the ground. This is considered an assault per the fifa rules. Therefor the keeper was shown a red card. End of story. Would you or I have done the same thing as the keeper? perhaps so but the referee handled according to the rules.
people don't have nothing better to do than argue about something that doesn't affect them in any way shape or form. Just watch the video and enjoy people!
i would have done the same thing as the goalie, but then i would expect to be sent of for it. i dont agree with what happened to the goalie but at times like these victims often become the baddies. the world sucks and there is no justice

An Ajax fan attacked the AZ goalie, the goalie fought back and by the rules, the ref had to give him a red card for that, which if ofcourse ridiculous. The AZ coach was outraged with the decision of the ref so he stopped the match.
Guys I'm rewatching this again and I ddnt fail to notice the penalty he just denied AZ
He clearly had an agenda
The Dutch FA has been pro Ajax since forever
Luckily AZ Alkmaar won the game eventually. If I remember correctly it was finished behind closed doors.
@@THO-BRO2000 Only childeren were allowed to watch the game
Ajax hooligans enters the pitch and attacks the AZ goalie. The goalie protects himself and kicks the hooligan...the referee proceeds to give him the red card. AZ-manager Verbeek decides to take his team off the pitch because of this. I'm an Ajax fan, but this was a good call from Verbeek.
the black shirt guy attack first
well the good thing is he only got kicked by goalie but what if he got kicked by the rest of the team
you know what happen if it does
Well done manager :) (y)
It's the home team responsibility to provide security. Since the one got attacked is the away team, they decide to leave the match.
Wesley van Wilsem, schaam je
Exact
heb je wel geluisterd naar de uitleg? kijk anders de video nog een keertje
Violent conduct is a red card, the ref got it spot on!
love it how he gets ready to punch the guard as well. Don't fuck with Esteban. greetings from Costa Rica
gertjan verbeek Held
What happened to the Az team? Were they suspended or fined for leaving the match?
referee had no choice but to send him off for violent conduct
+Pat McGovern the card was revoked and the match replayed
wow, amazing, the guy is a thug
The ref probably didn’t want to send Esteban off but the rules stated that he had too so I don’t get why he gets so much hate
Ik had het zelfde gedaan als de keeper
Dunno what rules you have, but tell me where in the rulebook it says that ref can overlook that kind of incident. Instead, ref has to "enforce Laws of the Game". Of course he has "the final call", but no red card here would have been a major mistake in the eyes of the referee observers. As you can see from the replay, the goalie kicks the guy _twice_ when he is already on the ground. That's violent conduct to any referee, no matter what anyone thinks. No red card would have been a mistake here.
Letter of the law the referee was right to show the red card. Once the fan was on the floor but the keeper still kicked him it becomes violent conduct
+kflem80 It's first your personal safety than any trivial football game; He was under attack so He did what He had to do cause he didn't know what was happening.
***** I don't know man, it’s your own safety you know, but you have a valid point though cause I’m against any violence in this beautiful game that all of us enjoy. ‘Pura Vida’ from Costa Rica.
***** Yeah man, the guy was on the ground so the kicks were uncalled in some way and I respect that point of view for sure. Sometimes people just lose it :( .
To be fair he is defending himself I suppose. I don't know what i would do in that situation
+kflem80 the fan deserved it..the keeper acted in self defense..if you attack someone you should be ready to face the consequences ! the ref was wrong !!
''Zuid-Amerikaans Temperament'' hahahaha, briljant Frankie haha
It's really weird everyone think this was not red card. There are rules, violence is not allowed, and the ref did his job.
Prove that it is in the rules, and laddy, next time you go on a rampage, think again. I never called him less smart or anything. Knob
epicgaminggames It's too difficult to me to explain the rules, because i don't speak english very well, but i think it's common sense to think KICKS on the field is against the rules.
I'm a Ajax fan, well done to the AZ coach for not taking any bullshit
@Robin Truby being a coach is not just a job
The situation is that an ajax "supporter" attacks the goalkeeper of AZ. The referee gives the red card to the goalkeeper which is according to the rules. In following of that the coach of AZ decides to send his players inside and to stop the match.Totally chaos at all.
What do the interviews from 5:15 (De Boer / referee post-match) onward translate to?
Correction: "I turned around and saw the supporter running at Esteban, I saw him defending himself..." and so on
That ref should be out of a job. Good on the manager to get his team out of there, because if THAT is a red then forget the game
jaa ik was daarbij.
I would like to know in what year was that tragic moment, please
2011 or 2012 i think
Wasnt the keeper the one who got the red?? Or what happened?
Sure defend yourself, but if you go as far as to repeatedly 'assault' the fans then you can see where the ref had to give the red card. (I use the word 'assault' lightly, I could not think of a better word to describe the keepers actions)
Josef de souza ' dan gelenler
It's hard to discern not knowing Dutch and all, but the keeper was attacked from behind by a fan and in return kicked him a couple times (a bit harder than he needed to, I'll say) and the ref red carded someone ELSE? or did he card the keeper?
And the coach took all his players and left the game afterwards?
Dutchmen are crazy.
"Want to see my rulebook? No, I can't read Braille. "
Ik was er bij zat in het uitvak van AZ wow wat een moment
which team did win in the rematch
I'm confused as to why you keep referring to the law. Nobody is claiming the keeper should have been arrested, just that he was right to have been sent off by the referee.
The keeper had every right to defend himself. Did you see the video where a guy ran unto the pitch wearing brass rings and broke a players jaw...
Nice call from the coach
Can anyone who speaks Dutch translate what the announcers said during the incident in to English?
Good decision making of the referee. Kicking when someone is on the ground isn’t self defense anymore. It’s the same energy as the fan rushing to kick the goalkeeper. Self defense was done first. Attacking after which means red card.
no complain about the red card also ... right decision from the ref ... and the manager done the right thing for the safety of the players.
he's not clueless.
The scoreboard read "The match is abandoned. We ask you to leave the stadium in peace."
