Back in May of last year, we were incredibly fortunate to have a glimpse of not only the city, but also some major tourist destinations all across the prefecture. I think no one can possibly dispute that Yamadera, with its 1000 stone steps to one of the more accessible, yet most beautiful temple sights throughout Japan. Thankfully, you were able to shoot some side temples apart from the one everyone there wants to go to. Also, Ginzan Onsen has steadily made its way to one of the top destinations to go have a look at, even though it is still pretty pricey or difficult to get there if you're not interested going by anything other than public transport. We were able to stay two nights at the Ginzan-so facility, which is only a small stone's throw away from the heart of the Ginzan Onsen main canal. The onsen situated right inside the crowded canal are mostly booked way in advance over the phone, by regular guests who are well-heeled, to say the least. I'm surprised to see you haven't released any video on the Onsen town so far, as you could have had an amazing time not only shooting the well maintained houses and hiking pathways. As it is a remote place to visit, I may understand your reasoning behind your decision. Finally, if you want to learn about some good places to eat at, or generally get a sense of Yamagata's spirit, you may have a look at what fellow youtuber "始八重洲" does. I highly enjoy his food vlogs and super niche stuff like thermostat reviews and self defense army parades that take place in his home town. Enjoy!
This is an interesting take on Yamagata. I was just given a project with Rakuten Travel x Tohoku Tourism Bureau to create one of their official guides to this area and came across your video by a quick search result. I love drawing inspiration from talented content creators like yourself to get a sense of what others have done and storyboard this concept before embarking on the shoot scheduled for June. Keep doing you! I hope you remain safe during this tough time!
