I still listen to this cover at least once a month... and I grew up with you guys playing it in my living room! Talk about a music rich environment to grow up in. Hope to see you soon Dave James
Very nice playing, i like this as much as i like your version of Terrapin Station. Im glad to see that the Deads spirit aint lost after all. Loved your version of the jam in this song, good stuff really. Nice version, ill give you a 5 star
Awesome can't wait to see the new stuff. I just picked up a new Epiphone Les Paul studio and have a Digitech Jamman coming in the mail. Once I get up and runnning Ill post a reply on my progress with this song. Between you guys and JDarks Im learning a ton.
Thanks for the kind words...I'm glad you liked it. We are in standard tuning although we may not be tuned exactly to concert pitch. We played that in D, which I believe, is how the Dead did it until the 90's, at which time they shifted it up to E. I defer to Hugh on that one-Anyone know???
You guys play off of each other and harmonize really well. Love your work! Do you have a full band and if not why not (other than the typical band excuses!)? Keep 'em coming!
You guys are absolutely the real deal. Ive watched like 4 of your videos now and love them all. When music gives me goosebumps I know it's something very special. Do you play anywhere ever? Let me know cause I want to come take photos. Or if you ever need some artwork done, let me know and I would be more than happy to do something for you. Thanks again -Danny Duffy(duffyartwork(dot)com
@TheShampow44 The friendship isn't quite that old, but our mutual love of the Dead goes back to days somewhat resembling your description. Thanks for the compliment. DH
Mostly in my living room/home studio room. Every once in a great while we get off of our lazy asses, practice for a night or two and play a few songs at a coffee house/ open mic Like Bentley's Tea House! WE ARE AVAILABLE FOR HIRE!!!! :-)
Danny Duffy, Thank you so much for the kind words. Are you in Tucson? We'd love to have you come take pictures or help us with some art creation(s). you should visit our myspace or email me at handmadegroove (at) earthlink(dot)net. -David

Thanks for the nice comment. We are in Tucson, Arizona. Where are you located?
Awesome, heard some 'Other one' in the jam. Did you create your own progression for the jam? Really good!
Holy smokes......you guys rocked that sh!t. Nice job!!!!!!!!
u guys are great
Seriously epic
Sweet. I love the jam starting at 3:25
awesome guys.
(Whooooooo at 6:25) I felt you deserved it. Very well done!
We love you too. Thanks!
nice job guys .
you guys have got it down :)
im in lancaster, pa...i guess that rules out chances of cathcing you guys playing...
We're humbled. Thank you.
We play it in D, the Dead's original key. I think they transposed it up to E in the mid to late 80's.
nice job guys..where are you located??
i learned it off of a '72 show and they are in E..so im not sure when or why they used which key but they have played it in D and E both
The Jerry Garcia album 'Garcia' has Birdsong in the original key, he starts on Dm if I'm not mistaken?
Thanks for the nice comment. It's a D-35.
Awesome job! Couple of questions - what key was that in and are you using standard tuning? Guitar newbie here...keep 'em coming!
Maybe even better than your unbroken chain! Only two vids of yours I've seen/heard so far.
yeah, I hear that!

Anyone know the make of the guitar on the right? Looks like a Seagull no?
SWEEEEEEEEET
Have you ever considered doing "Reuben and Cherise"?
Mostly in my living room/home studio room. Every once in a great while we get off of our lazy asses, practice for a night or two and play a few songs at a coffee house/ open mic Like Bentley's Tea House! WE ARE AVAILABLE FOR HIRE!!!! :-)
The lick is technically A minor, but it's played over a D7ish chord...if I'm not mistaken. Definitely not a minor chord, though.
NICE tight sweet ty peaceness
kick ass.

If you steal my dead, I'll steal your face. Just kidding--steal away. We stole it, too!
@barefootslider One of our earliest posts...I miss you, JM. Call me some time- We'll do lunch or something!
Technically, we're not pros...Pros make money! ;-) Snicker
beautiful, again, although something about it being in E kind of perfects the circle, in my opinion. still, wonderful job.
Great! ... I was expecting to see a decent Birdsong with crappy improvisation...not the case at all...awesome
