    Have you been to the Leshan Giant Buddha? 🤩We still can't believe that these buddhist statues were carved over thousands of years ago, and with so much detail!

      Twice, one is the hillside route and another is the ship cruise.

      @@user-gt3wz8ly4o we’ve heard the ship route is the best view of the Buddha! Unfortunately we didn’t have time to do the boat tour.

    Awesome to see the statues and carving inside the cave. You are the first youtuber to bring this discovery, as I have seen quite a number of videos from visiting foreigners showing this 70m Buddha overlooking the rivers, but none seem to be aware of the cave existence. Thanks for sharing.

    Those 'spirals' on his head is not Afro hairstyle whorls, but are SNAILS.
    While the Buddha was meditating in the blazing sun, snails crawled over his head to protect him from burning.

    Hi, nice video! Is it possible to fly a drone around the park??

    • @JamesandKeli
      @JamesandKeli  6 місяців тому

      We are not entirely sure if it’s possible to fly near the statue. We flew it in the park next to it, just not by the Buddha. We would just recommend looking for clear signs that state if drones are allowed or not, and look at your drone app for confirmation.

    a bit of advice for foreigners. If you have made any wish to the Buddha and came true, make sure you go back before the end of the year and show your gratitudes and appreciation. Otherwise... you would lose more than what you wished for.

    Could you please name your top 3-5 destinations in China? I am planning a 2-week-visit and it is just impossible to decide on where to go 😅. I know I can't see everything but everything seems so interesting. I was thinking about Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu + Giant Buddha, Lijiang, Dali, Shangri-la, Xi'an.....What would you say is a must see? Pleeeeaase help me :)

    • @JamesandKeli
      @JamesandKeli  6 місяців тому +1

      In our personal opinion, 2 weeks is not enough time to see all of that! China is huge which means it could take a while to travel between cities, and you’ll want to leave enough time for things that may come up.
      What we would suggest: Chengdu + Giant Buddha (3 days, 1 day for the pandas and 1 for the Giant Buddha), Xi’An (3 days, 1 day Terracotta Warriors, 1 day the market and walking the wall), Beijing has so much to do (4 days is a rush, 1 day Great Wall, 1 day Hutongs and forbidden city, 1 day heavenly palace and walking around), finish in Shanghai (1 day walking through the Former French Concessions, 1 day bund and old town, if enough time go to the water town,Zhujiajiao).

    • @JamesandKeli
      @JamesandKeli  6 місяців тому

      Yunnan is a beautiful province in China, and is a completely different experience going there. If you opt out of Beijing and Shanghai, we would recommend replacing it with Dali, Lijiang, and Shangrila.
