- Wonder what it is like on the Fury Catamaran now that cruising has kicked off again! The Covid shutdown has us all wondering, HOW IS IT GONNA BE NOW?! This is my review of our adventure with Fury Catamaran snorkel and beach break in Cozumel Mexico. We had an absolute blast! What do you think? Tell me in the comments if you have been on this adventure and what your thoughts were! Have you been on another snorkel/beach excursion that you loved?!! I’d love to check it out!

So helpful!! Thank you for putting this together.
Thank you! This was when people first started cruising post Covid. If you go, let me know how it is now!
Your video was very informative and helping make our decision to snorkel easy!
Yes!!! It was a blast! So beautiful!!!
Very helpful info for our cruise coming up . Thank you
You’re welcome! You will have to give me feedback from your cruise!!!
I went off the NCL Breakaway last August-it was a great excursion! Drinks were not served until after the snorkeling was done-which made perfect sense! After that the beach and the rest of the trip was fantastic-great music-fun dancing-really fun atmosphere all around! The burgers for sale were huge and delicious!!
Thanks for sharing 🤩😄👍
Nice video. Very helpful. Probably back to max capacity by now, but still looks fun. THanks.
You’re probably right! I’ll have to check it out next month when I go back!
It is; we just took it on Nov 23, 2023. I felt it was WAY too crowded. 110-120 people.
New Subscriber! Thank you for posting this!!! 1st cruise in November out of NOLA and we’re considering this excursion! 🏝💚
So excited for you! I’ll be going out of NOLA in January! You won’t be disappointed if you do this excursion. My family loved it and made so great memories!
Thank you for your video! Is it easy or tough to get back on the catamaran after snorkeling? I'm thinking of doing this excursion but sometimes my knees have a tough time climbing up those tiny ladders on the side of small boats. I'm wondering if the climb will be too hard for me. Any info you could provide is appreciated!
No. Not at all. There is a large stairway that goes down into the water through the middle of the boat. It’s much easier than a ladder!
Hi there. I see you were on a Royal Caribbean cruise. Did you book this through RC or another vendor? First cruise coming up next year and this is one of the excursions that's being offered. Thanks for the great video!
I booked it through RC! Loved it!
Would you say the life vest given were good for novice swimmers ? family has done snorkeling but i worry about those yellow ones.
Thank you so much for sharing your video ❣️ I’m taking my family for our 1st Cruise 🚢 next summer for my son’s for his High School graduation 👨🏻🎓 celebration 🥳🎉 next Summer on Royal Caribbean to Cozumel 🙏and looks like this is the excursion for us thanks to your video 🥳🤩🥰😁🤩
Question 🙋🏻♀️:
Did anyone get sea sick on the catamaran? Did you or your family take Dramamine or need to wear a sea sick bracelet for this excursion or on the Royal Caribbean boat? Thanks!
Hey! Thanks! We loved this excursion! No one in my family got sick or required Dramamine. I do have one family member that tends to get motion sick, but never has a problem on cruises. I also go prepared, though! I’d rather have it and not need it.
Thank you for the video. I will be traveling with my 25 y/o and 8 y/o. I read other reviews that said this was not kid or family friendly due to the drink and loud music. I guess it depends on the group that’s booked at any given time. My 8y/o is a beginner swimmer. I was glad to see that everyone had life jackets. My question is in regards to food. My oldest daughter does not eat meat. Will she be allowed to bring anything off the ship to eat, maybe her protein bars etc?
Also are we able to board the ship after the excursion and get off again if there is still plenty of time left?
Yes. My kids loved it! Life jackets were mandatory in the water. It was well “chaperoned” also. There were several crew members in the water with the group at all times as well as spotters on the boat.
As far as food goes, it’s my understanding that only foods pre-packaged by the manufacturer are allowed to be brought into the port. They are very strict with this. Nothing else. No fruits either.
And yes, you can come and go as you like getting off and on the ship.
We took this excursion on Nov. 23, 2023, Thanksgiving Day. We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise. The water temp was decent at 82, but I purchased shortie 2 mm / 3mm wetsuits and we did wear them. We were the only ones, but I don't regret it! The excursion was 100% exactly like this video except unfortunately, it was WAY too crowded with 110 people on the catamaran. At one point, they also said 120 people, so either way it was too crowded. We had difficulty finding a seat (3 of us). I felt like it was a cattle call. The only other thing I found I didn't like was the sand on the beach. It was very soft and we sank in to our ankles, making difficult to walk in. It did not firm up where the sand was wet. So in the water and at water's edge, it was like quicksand. The beach is quite sloped, and I could not make it up to dry sand on my own - I required a 'hand.' I am NOT a novice beachgoer; I have no problems on Padre Island, Florida beaches or Hawaii beaches. I don't know why the sand is like that on this beach. But for that reason, I won't go there again. Otherwise, except for too many people on the catamaran, the excursion went as advertised.
That was one perk of going on this excursion right after things opened back up, post-Covid. It was WAY less crowded. They did say that normally the catamaran is packed. I did enjoy the excursion at the time, but might reconsider since things have really picked back up. There are a lot of 3rd party excursions that do small groups. I’d probably consider that if I wanted to do something similar again. I will say, the “cattle call” feeling is one I get any time we do an excursion through the cruise line. I MUCH prefer small group excursions.
Thank you for the info! This came highly recommended so we’re hoping to book it for November. Did you tip the boat crew??? If so, how much??
We loved this experience! I did tip the crew. I gave a $20. 🤷♀️
@@SWAdventures01 thank you so much! We always have cash with us so I’ll be sure to bring some.
Hey love your video!! What is the waterproof camera your using?
Thank you! The camera in this video was a GoPro 360. I also use the GoPro hero 11 black.
the last thing I want is bathing suit pics of me snorkeling.
Hello, is the life vest and snorket gear included in the fee? Thanks
Yes it is part of it. No extra charge!
How long was the catamaran ride from the cruise ship to snorkel & then to beach. Thanks
I think it was like 20 minutes to the snorkel and 15-20 to the beach. That’s not exact. It didn’t seem like it took long at all.
Thank you , nice video… do we need to know how to swim to do this excursion?
When you are snorkeling, the water is over your head. You wear a life jacket in the water while you are doing it, and there are staff members in the water with you.
maybe not, but you'll need to follow the leader to the place he wants you to be, so you need to at least be able to dog-paddle or propel yourself. The water is not steady, you bob up an down and its 15-20 ft. deep at the snorkel site.
If you said in the video, I missed it- how long was this excursion?
I believe it was about 6 hours. I know we left at 8am and got back to the port with a couple hours to spare before having to board the ship again.
Does the snorkeling require life vests? I hope so!
Yes! They provided them.
Where was the snorkeling? We want to go to El cielo. Thanks :)
Gosh… I’m not positive. We left the port for Royal and went toward Mr. Sanchos. Stopped somewhere in between to snorkel!
@@SWAdventures01 thanks :)
What beverages did they have for kids? Thanks.
Margaritas probably. I cannot understate how much booze is available on this excursion
They had several soft drinks - colas, sprite, water, etc.
Is the alcohol included?
It was included.
Is there a toilet on the catamaran?
Yes, there was.
With the sheer amount of alcohol that was consumed they needed the latrine on board.
