Defence Colony Main Market is located in Defence Colony in South Delhi District. It is a market, popularly known for being well-organised and clean. The market houses many restaurants, cafes, bakers' shops, chemist shops, grocery shops, electronics shop, florist shops, fruits and vegetable corners, a book shop, beauty shops, stationery, an ATM (more ATMs outside the market premise), and a cute park in the middle of it.
CUISINES available here: Indian - both South Indian and North Indian, Vegetarian food, Chinese, Thai, and Continental.
The market is an ideal place to hang out at, as it is peaceful and well-maintained. Lush green trees grow in abundance here and the roads are smooth and broad. Defence Colony is an affluent neighbourhood and is flanked by Lajpat Nagar in the east, Kotla Mubarakpur/South Extension Part I in the west, Lodhi Road and Jangpura Extension in the north, and Khelgaon in the south.
I love this place.
The nearest metro stations are the Lajpat Nagar Metro Station (which is an interchange station between the Violet Line and the Pink Line of the Delhi Metro) and the Moolchand Metro Station on the Violet Line.
Defence Main Market is open all days of the week from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. IST.
