Thanks to the covid lockdown, my hair is now long enough to tie a ponytail at any point on the back of my head. Going for waist length, I'm in it for the long haul!
I shaved my head bald three days ago. I am going for long for the first time in 36 years (i have a full beard as well) Wish me luck bro. Got any tips for the awkward stages? Thx.
For the awkward stage just slick it back while it's growing. Even if you are in the awkward stage who cares what people think or say. It's your hair not theirs.
doing the same...im 47...thankfully kept my hair...I have done the skin fade on the sides and back..short on top for probably 30 years...i always wanted it long but just cut it once it hit those awkward stages...its in the awkward stage now and I'm just going to power through ...a ski hat has been my best friend...my parents and kids give me flack etc , but you only live once and I want to grow it at least once. I see these guys and they have such great hair...I have wavy hair...think johnny depp type wavy hair(obviously I'm not blessed with his looks lol) but I always think my hair won't look like the guys in this video if I grow it...I have never really used hair products aside from gel so I'm sure these guys probably have some good hair care tips...only one way to find out I suppose

@@jmatx2673 let's just say that I had an accident, ended up with a head trauma, a bit of necrosis, but I'm off pretty much scot-free. Albeit a hairless spot on the back of my head, my hairs still have a tint of hope (tho it won't ever regrow on that spot) they're currently just above the middle of my back (I surprisingly didn't lose all that much hair from all of that. Only lost what I had on the spot where it necrosed cause the doc had poorly stitched my scalp lmao)
I had hair up to my waist, but after 30 my hair wasn't THAT thick as it used to be, still have enough hair but I hated how they looked thinner so I cut it short.

There are countless Caucasians and other descents that tell me daily there ain't nothin they wouldn't do to have ageless black skin, and braids that look relevant and plausible in the way that braids look best I'm kinky curly African American hair. Love what you got while you have it the grass is always greener. Our hair doesn't suck and neither do we. It's different but there must be some kind of hairdo you could get that's pleasing. Get a relaxed if you got thw volume and length s@it, but Lord it hurts when I read or hear somebody say that my hair or skin is undesirable and they share similar hair and skin. I've wanted Caucasian hair that grows quickly but I had that last life. Maybe next life I'll be white again but this incarnation is black and I'm still and always beautiful, I could be bald but dammit I'm enough and so are you as is. I don't have to see you to know you're rbe most beautiful you that's around. I had to grow to know that I define me and I'm not just my race even though I gotta type black to find someone like me but I define myself and my beauty and I behold a beautiful chocolate gold majestic and ethereal masterpiece, from my head to my soul glow and further down still after my toes baby. All the way up down every direction. You are golden before we even talk about the hair, beautiful in our differences. I used to feel ugly because I was always getting stares and glares but I didn't know people don't keep on staring and getting beside you or in front unless they want me to see them too, and ugly couldn't make people react like they do when they see me. Stares and smiles and nervousness mean I had to see what they saw. This is my journey and I wish you every happiness and love on yours💝

I saw a skinny hippy looking guy at the gas station who was about 6' tall and had hair that had to be, no joke, 7'+. He had his hair in dreadlocks and tied back and in a sloppy bun and about 4-5" of his hair was still dragging on the floor behind him. This was like 4-5 years ago and I still remember it.
2 1/2 years ago, I went for a normal haircut. I told her NO CLONE FADE. I got a high n tight a Marine would love. No more haircuts for me! Mine is down to below my shoulder blades....and going longer.
