As somebody who has seen everything from microsoft's brickware failure, to how rancid the community is at this time, I'm invested to see how Cryy handles the game if we're looking at both gameplay and community perspective.
The lack of community spirit is why i left after only a few months of playing.
"rancid" is the perfect word to describe it. it's not just bad, it's been left to fester and rot in a corner as the smell gets worse every day.
@@DiscountYTYea that's why I avoid those rotting people, like mold they just want to spread it to everyone. It's more "dead players" than "dead game" to me.

This is genuinely one of my favorite games, and by far my favorite open world game. It's just so fun; the movement is incredible, the scenery is **gorgeous** (it started out beautiful and has gotten even better with updates), the combat is super fun and engaging, the music is some of the best in the series... It really deserves to be more well known.

I just treat it as a single player game I come back to every so often. I'm ultra casual and don't grind much, I take long breaks from the game and come back when there's a lot of content to keep me busy for a few days.
I feel like it's a good game to come back every now and then to but a terrible mmo to play consistently.
Such a coincidence that Crawford has my last name… also damn never thought you return to UA-cam, and even better this makes me want to attempt this game again.

gameplay is why i stick around with NGS honestly, every other MMO has awful, stilted gameplay in comparison and it's more of an acquired taste thing. NGS is super fluid, i just like *playing* it regardless of what i'm doing.

It's cool but could be way better. Combat and customization great tho but gets repetitive quick
PSO2 is a very special mmo imo, the character creation is like no other game, every single player can make a character that look nothing like any one else's, the costumes, hair and cosmetics are very very cool, tons and tons of cool weapon skin, the emots, the stickers... it's sooo special dude I miss this game, sadly community was one of the things I played the game for cause if there's no one playing then who r u gonna show your character and cool stuff to?
It's so sad ans disappointing, I hope somehow the game make like a really cool thing that gets old and new players attention and get alive again :(

The game was absolute trash on release. The story has always been typical anime fluff, but the gameplay and fashion is why people play, and even then they had no content. It's a little better now, and there's hints that they're trying to take the game in general in a better direction now.. but OMG has it taken forever and it's still a slow shift. But I do have optimism.. copium? lol

Your pso2 content is what got me to watch your channel in the first place. Glad to see you back.
I play this off and on again. It gets content updates in bursts so it'll be entertaining for a week or two before it starts to feel like a grind again. Population is just as stop and go. You'll see pop increase around updates. FYI: I started playing the OG version from your old vids. ;P
Yep this is where i'm at with NGS. I just log on when an update happens then I either log in for a few more days or just put the game down again until the next update to repeat the cycle.

I hope you have a better time than I, my dude. PSOld2 sucked me in like a demon succubus on heat, but NGS's combat just didn't hit for me the right way. The lack of dungeon crawling and constant bosses probably did me bad too.
But hey, the creator's insane, so if you're here for chilling and sightseeing it might be just for you.
Oh wow didn't expect a New Genesis exploration - Loving these first time vids!
I said it before and I'll say it again. NGS, as of right now, is arguably in the best state it's ever been for new and returning players. Most of the main pain point people have had since launch are now fixed or are on their way of being fixed.
-It now has a decent amount of content to grind
-all base classes from base PSO2 are back, with the addition of Slayer (Gunblade Class)
-all 4 open field regions, along with their stories, have been released.
-the max rarity is now back to 9*
-Level cap is now at 75
-Personal Quarters (Creative Spaces) are back, bigger and better than any of us ever expected them to be
-Instanced-based content is now back at the fore-front with the introduction of Duel quests, Leciel Exploration (which are basically divide quests) and challenging endgame boss encounters (Dark Falz Solus)
-the story is now actually going somewhere interesting.
-there's a ton of ways to catch-up now, if you've been away for a while.
-There's now a ton of ways to passively earn SG
And keep in mind... that's only the rough gist of it, there's a lot more that I didn't cover. Because if I did, this comment would turn into an even longer essay.
Though I will say, this month, when it comes to new content, is definitely underwhelming. So yeah... can't all be winners.
I absolutely adore this comment! Sums up most of everything in my thoughts about it except for the final part regarding this month's lack of content considering we already had a road map for the remainder of the year detailing that September would indeed be the catch up/filler month, lol.
The only thing that the game lacking is how empty the open world are. It would make much different if they add something like Aelio Town outside or some kind of town with npcs.

This is true, its still just kind of sad. Sega invests just enough of the earnings from scratches and such back in to keep the devs alive, rather than highering more talent and growing the game they are content with the few thousand that stick around/come back for updates, and are content with keeping that smaller community spread across 4 servers instead of consolidating.
100% This game is still in my top 5 favorite MMO's

god damn i missed watching you play pso2... so happy to see this again. i dropped ngs shortly after launch cause of the lack of content but this kinda makes me wanna play again, even if the low playercount seems to be a bit of a red flag
Some part of community no longer patience with slow update.
the game now honestly isn't that bad, but it won't make people stuck for year and still feel happy.
So most people only for daily money and logout waiting new bigger stuff to update.
which is probably around 2024, the rest of this year is new boss and new story (very small part of next episode prologue)

This is a was a time for me, gets boring fast, after level 30. Also, i dont like that is to much scfi here, maybe if they combined more nature in the mix, caves, earth, grass, jungle, nobody wants to play in a robotic world, even star wars feels better.

I'm surprised you hadn't played this til now. It's a great time to jump in. Lots of events, things to do, and bonus exp/drop rates for new and returning players. NGS is not without its flaws, but it's my favorite MMO. I love the action and of course, the fashion. :D

That's how it always starts. Ooh, aah, this game has so much potential. Then you realize it's been two years and the issues that were in the game on release are still in the game and the devs just seem very out of touch with what the playerbase wants and you grow tired and jaded of all the wasted potential.

They have apoligized, and also told us they have no intention of making big changes in content release in a year or so.
I loved phantasy star online for the gamecube but I never got into the games after that.

One of the old school in the youtube have return back on youtube and playing pso2 ngs on like cryy you have to link up with keroppi why because keroppi know everything about pso2 ngs so anything you need asked keroppi he will guide you on the right path but any who enjoy playing pso2 ngs later bye for now.
They should just do a remaster of the original pso and abandon this garbage. The housing stuff is cool though, other than that, they should go back to their roots.
