One thing this book did for me is, it changed the way I perceive the world around me. After reading the Autobiography, I've read 3 other books by Yogananda and they're all fascinating and inspirational.
I applaude your patient and care-full explanation of this great book and the wisdom contained in it. I have made it a point to re-read it a few days before and after each re-occurring birthday: (May 13th). This has been going on for more than 70 years... combined with reading and meditating on the lives of Ramana Mahashi, Swami Vivikananda & Sri Aurobino and the likes, I heartedly endorse the suggestions you have made in this video, particularly allowing the Masters to speak for themselves while pointing out the specific instructions given by them concerning methodology and technique. God Bless you for your efforts -you are a fine teacher.
Daoud Haroon Thank you for tuning in. You may appreciate my next book, which synthesizes the work or Yogananda and Ramana Maharshi. It's been quite a joy to write, and am looking forward to sharing it.
Thank you Ryan, I think you are wonderful bridge between the intimidating and strict presentation of Kriya Yoga from the SRF to the regular folks of 2019 that want to practice techniques. You are needed for sure. For years I practiced regular meditation dreaming of practicing Kriya Yoga. I did not know where to start. I read Autobiography Of A Yogi 3 times since 1986. I started reading again and Googled Kriya and found you. By your presentation I realized I had been doing some Kriya techniques all along in some of my visualizations and that I don't need to wait for a teacher to start. Sincerity is more important than outside guidance and that validated what I had known all along. The Guru is within. I remember that from Be Here Now. No need to seek outside your self, trust the inner Guru and inner guidance that we already have. Still struggling though with finding the time to practice. I keep reading that part in the autobiography in the chapter The Saint With Two Bodies that wanted to practice more and got his pension early. Most of us know the business of 2019. I believe 100 years ago, before mass social media and the way the working world is it would have been easier to shut out the world. I pray for time and money to advance in Kriya, and until then look to Lahiri Mahasaya as inspiration as a house holder who practiced. I often wonder what type of discipline would be needed in a world of constant attempts at people trying to connect either for work or other duties. So right now before bed I practice. It does not feel ideal but it is what I have.
I have always been going through all the videos and love the teaching. Thank you so much from Bhutan 🇧🇹. I have also tired to do kriya meditation. Blessed to have this knowledge being transferred to us. My interest started from reading the book of Autobiography of Yogiananda and loved and started searching on UA-cam when I saw your channel. From then on I feel its a divinely planned. ❤
Thought and power, and won't that keep me stuck in a loop of delusion. I am referring to you video about when not to practice. Where does that philosophy, come from, and ultimately is is a hard and fast, something bad will happen, even if I now feel led to move forward into pursuing the Kriya yoga preliminary practice? I do not want to remain frozen in fear because of what I experience around my body. You are my greatest connection and inspiration on this path, (have been), and I am grateful you are there to express my thoughts around my process. Blessings and Peace. Theresa
Theresa Myers If you are sick, do what you need to to get well. If your body is just weak, then work it out in your consciousness. The advice not to practice Spinal breathing when you are sick, is based on the science of Prana, and that each prana has a role to play. When Apana vayu needs to do its role, its best not to try and activate the upward flowing current. See my video on health and on when not to practice for more information. You can always still meditate, there are plenty of techniques to use when Kriya breathing is not advised.
This guy is a young person and he not a guru and l dont think he should be selling this teaching. I learned the kriya yoga from self realization over 25 years ago and l would never give the teaching out .What he is not telling you is that you have to truly be in tune with the guru for this to work and if you just start doing this practice wrongly it can cause serious problems in your life. l would be very careful and only learn it from only a truly qualified person . I come back to this video again n again.🙏 Reading Autobiography of a Yogi again. Beauty alone should allure him." Those two paragraphs i feel are important and i am unable to interpret them better for betterment of my everyday life. Can you explain it? I will be glad :)

The book 'The Secret Teachings of All Ages' by Manly P.Hall answers your question nicely: 'While generally regarded as polytheists, the pagans gained this reputation not because they worshiped more than one God but rather because they personified the attributes of this God, thereby creating a pantheon of posterior deities each manifesting a part of what the One God manifested as a whole. The various pantheons of ancient religions therefore actually represent the catalogued and personified attributes of Deity' So you see, the Hindu trinity , Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, are just concepts of the characteristics of God. There is only one God but ancients created a variety in order to simplify the the abstractness of the One. The same with the Greeks, the Scandinavians, the Mayans etc. Read this book for more understanding of ancient cultures, religion and the esoteric symbolism of mythology. It is fascinating and shows how every civilisation held very similar divine beliefs, such reincarnation and liberation through what we would call 'yogic' methods.
Hi Ryan, The tiger swami became strong through Kriya, so why can a feeble, weak person not practice Kriya? Is this possibly born out of a though form, that our bodies need something else when we are ill? And of one holds the thought that they are ill, is not that perpetuating the illness?
Theresa Myers See my videos on when not to practice Kriya for the description as to why. Also, see my video on health and kriya. There is a difference between illness, and having a body that needs adjusted through conscious effort. When you are ill, the prana's of the body, particularly apana vayu need to be left to their own intelligence. When your body is naturally weak, then you can work with your consciousness to improve. ua-cam.com/video/w3-RiopzWEc/v-deo.html
