Crown Uzama (born April 12, 2000) in Benin City, Edo State Nigeria and known professionally as Shallipopi, is a Nigerian singer, rapper, and songwriter. He signed with Dvpper Music, Plutomania in 2023, and rose to fame with his single "Elon Musk". It moderately entered the TurnTable chart, while his debut studio album Presido La Pluto (2023) peaked at number one on the TurnTable Top 50 and debuted atop Apple Music top 100 albums. His second studio album, Shakespopi (2024), was met with continued success as it became Shallipopi's second chart-topping album. Its lead single "ASAP" reached number one on the TurnTable Top 100. And Kardi is proving his versatility on this music cover with this Shallipopi asap open verse by jumping on the shallipopi asap instrumental, with the official music video for Shallipopi asap gathering a lot of video reactions on UA-cam, with his slogan "Na Shalli dey write but na Shakespeare dey shake"
Shallipopi who left ladies heartbroken after unveiling girlfriend with some saying "She Looks Older" and social media with mixed reactions as the popular singer, set tongues wagging as a video that has caught attention online shows him locking lips with a lady rumored to be his girlfriend.
The “High Tension” crooner took to his social media page to share a video of the lady who is assumed to be his girlfriend while they were on a night out at what appears to be a restaurant.
The rising star took to his social media platforms on Thursday, March 14, 2024, to express gratitude and celebrate one year anniversary with his fans and supporters for his immeasurable growth in the space of 12 months
with his second studio album housing songs like ASAP, High Tension, 100, Dey, Billion, Find Me, New Cat, Start Am, Trees while not forgeting his viral collaboration Cast Ft. ODUMODUBLVCK which was the break out single from his first studio album which also had songs like Never Ever, Evil, Receive, More Than Me, Eazy, Things on Things, Wet on Me, Iyo, Oscroh (Pepperline), Over the Seas, Jungle, Jonze, So what? and his previously released songs Obapluto, Ex Convict, Speedometer, Sharpiru, Ahead Ahead, Elon Musk [Remix] from his Planet Pluto - EP and has revealed that he has “over 1000 unreleased songs”. This he said during a recent episode of the Afrobeats Intelligence podcast.
Recounting his experience securing accommodation and how he begged for accommodation when he initially relocated from Benin City to Lagos to pursue a career in music. According to him, several of his friends refused to accommodate him despite being fans of his music. He revealed that a group of boys eventually agreed to accommodate him after he deceived them that he was going to stay for only four days.
Shallipopi who was also involved in a car accident with Davido’s logistics manager, Israel DMW, in Abuja on a Saturday night as they were returning from the show early Sunday morning.
Shallipopi has also revealed that he spent the first income he made from music "Elon Musk" on sex workers, In an interview with Turntable, hosted by Odumodublvck and how his stage name was inspired by the 1994 Chinese kung fu comedy film, Shaolin Popey. Meanwhile while Veteran Nigerian singer-songwriter, Augustine Obiabo Amedu, popularly known as Blackface, has alleged that Shallipopi stole his intellectual property.
While On 30 May 2023 the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arrested Shallipopi, his manager and others for alleged Internet-related fraud. Shallipopi, his manager and others were convicted on 23 June 2023 and sentenced to two years imprisonment with the "option of fines".
