    Battle of Tabuk:
    - North of Medina to fight the Romans but Romans never showed up.
    -so no war took place
    - This ghawah/ battle was mandatory for all able body Muslims
-biggest army Prophet (s) led (huge number of Muslims joined)
-took place right before harvest time of that year. For most people, this time was very critical and challenging because their entire year's income/ provision and survival depended on it. They still sacrificed the harvest season to invest everything into joining the army for the sake of Allah swt.
    - financing the battle in those days was not easy, individuals had to voluntarily join and finance themselves in order to take part in the battle. Most Muslims did not even own a ride (camel or horse etc) and had to share rides 2 to 3 people per ride with little food to suffice. Later it got more difficult because one date was shared between 8-10 muhajirun. There was insufficient supply of water and some camels were sacrificed to drink water from camel's belly. This meant that those people who sacrificed their camel would have to travel back on foot.
    - Famous incident when Omar (r) gave half of his wealth as charity for the preparation of this battle. He liked competing in doing good with Abu Bakr (r) but when he heard that Abu Bakr gave up all his wealth for charity/donation, Omar gave up competing with him after this.
    - Prophet (s) appointment Ali (r) to stay back and take care of the family. He(s) mentioned that Ali (r) is the same as what Haroon (a) was to Musa (a), except that there will be no prophet after him. This statement of Prophet (s) consoled him to stay back. Clarification: yes Ali (r) is very dear to Prophet (s) and there are many authentic supporting hadith confirming Abu Bakr (r), Prophet's best friend to take on the first khilafah. Such is the decree of Allah swt and all these sahabah had most tawqa after who were not prophets. They did not care for position and status in dunya, rather worked for higher status in pleasing Allah swt.
-hypocrites stayed back with lame excuses, around 70-80 people and mocked those who were leaving or had to stay back with legit reasons.
-3 sahabah did not join the army due to procrastination and confided in prophet (s) with regret. As a punishment for abandonment, Allah swt ordered all to refrain from talking to them for almost 40 days. And then forgave them.
    - Point of correction #Famous Nasheed # "Ta'la alBadru Alayna Min Thaniyatul Wada" was sung at the return of prophet (s) from the Battle of Tabuk, not at prophet's hijra to Medina. Reason being, Makkah is located south of Medina, so people couldn't have sung this song then. Thaniyatul Wada was a place, a mount north of Medina to bid farewell or see-off caravans going usually to Syria. When prophet (s) returned, people were much relieved and excited to see them come home safely.
    - Letter of Prophet addressed to the king of SKAKA ( Arab-Christian king) who accepted to become an ally along with many other northern bordering tribes. They sent many expensive gifts to prophet (s) namely one, Prophet (s) received an extremely beautiful embroidered gown with jewels and gold thread. He wore it to try on and the sahabah were amazed to see it's richness.
    - Heracles of Roman Empire of that time was sent a 2nd letter through from Prophet (s). He called all dignitaries to his castle to discuss this letter of invitation and ordered to lock the doors so no one could leave.
---The 3 conditions presented in the letter were:
-- to accept Islam as their religion. We know he did not accept Islam.
--Or pay juzya/ tax and keep their property and administration. His advisers didn't want to pay juzya either.
-- Or go to war with Muslims. And this time, they were afraid to go for war against Muslims. Although, they were the ones threatening Muslims with war.
--- Heracles called for a man who spoke Arabic and a man from Tanukh was brought to him. Heracles asked him to take a letter/message/news/resaalah to the Prophet and make esp. note of 3 important things/signs.
--NOTE if this prophet mentions of his previous letters to me?
Before prophet (s) opened the letter, he said to Tanukhi that he sent him a letter of invitation to Islam before, like he sent one to the king of Persia and the king a Abyssinia (not the former Najjashi King who accepted Islam but his son). The Persian king and Abyssinian king tore-up his letter so, Allah will tear-up their kingdom. And as for your king/ Heracles, he did not accept Islam but also saved the letter so, Allah swt will save his kingdom as long as they are of any good.
--NOTE his answer if he mentions the day and night? There was a question inside the letter for the prophet.
in response to the trick question, Prophet (s) said that
--NOTE look for the special sign/marking/a seal on the back of this man whW111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111o calls himself a prophet.
ALL THESE SIGNS WERE CONFIRMED AND NOTED/ WRITTEN.

What does the Shi'a-bashing do for you, sheikh? I know Saudi Arabia's chief nemesis is Iran, a Shi'a country and you are a Saudi supporter (I hope you are not on its payroll), but you should focus on the real Seerah, not on defaming a religious sect. I guarantee you they can beat you hands down on your own turf. They are also experts in the "non-Qur'anic" history and the Hadith folklore just as you are, so be careful. Now this: I am no Sunni or Shi'a. I am a student of the Book of Allah and this Book is the ONLY source of my faith. But, I have to be fair here. If I believe this Hadith "Ali, you are to me as Haroon was to Musa, but there is no prophet after me", then its a big deal. Musa and Haroon (a.s) were both prophets appointed by Allah, Haroon being a supporter of Musa (a.s) IN HIS MISSION - not a CARE-TAKER of Musa's family!!! There was no other prophet in Musa's time and all prophets have the same mission!Plus, taking care of the Prophet's wives was "farz ayn" for the ENTIRE Muslim community, not just Ali's responsibility because Prophet's wives are the mothers of believers. So the "care-taker" argument doesn't fit in, does it, sheikh? If you believe that the Prophet's above statement is correct (and you certainly do), then, like the Shi'as, you should firmly believe that Ali was the rightful successor to the Prophet's mission after him!Your argument that Ali (r.a) was only a "care-taker" of Prophet Muhammad's family is not only ridiculous, but downright ill-conceived. How long can you keep throwing dust into people's eyes, sheikh? I know you are working very hard to downplay Ali's role in the Islamic history, but - like you - I don't 'sugar-coat' things either, and I say, you are a hypocrite!

So this sheikh - as usual - says that the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (sws) "I have been ordered to fight against the people until they testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and until they establish the Salah and pay the Zakat. And if they do that then they will have gained protection from me for their lives and property, unless [they commit acts that are punishable] in Islam, and their reckoning will be with Allah.” " was stated only in the context of Tabuk and it should not be generalized. This is a misleading and fallacious argument. First of all, the context of the Hadith is self-evident...it definely seems a general statement, not specific to a context. Senond, Ghazwa Tabuk, even according to this sheikh, didn't happen because of some immediate threat or attack...so this ghazwa was not launched in self-defense. Why should the Prophet (sws) force the target party to convert? This hadith is obviously fabricated and it clearly violates the clear Qur'anic injunction "NO COMPULSION"!
clearly violates the basic principle of Islam which empasizes "No Compulsion in the deen" in MANY verses of the Qur'an.
