most of the time in ranked you can just run your offense until the advanced ranks up there past Fujin. Phi is analyzing high level shit and ranked is a different, uglier beast. Run your offense until your opponent shows an adaptation then switch it up a bit until your original plan becomes available again.
@@voodustyle Raijin+ is still people just running offense. Their flowcharts are more optimized, but it's rare to find someone in blue ranks willing to block and play defense. I'm always amazed at how far people will go to avoid blocking. Power crush, down jab, panic button, high crush...anything not to block.
6:09 'always a bit weird when you keep rolling the same stage' - I'm honestly so over this in match play online. It's so bad that at this point, it would be a quick code correction on randomization to track the last stage value and make it not an option on the next random selection.

I hope one day my punishment would be as accurate and efficient as Double's while also being able to concentrate on the high volume Tekken 8 offense and constantly focusing on applying pressure with my character. I don't play Law but that was very inspiring to watch
As a Claudio main, I think the analysis was technically a little bit off. Everything was right except that Claudio does have really good small Tekken. Lots of solid fast frame tight moves which allow him to play out of frame. You are right that the character's style is to just catch you off guard with a launcher or big knock back and push you to the wall and nuke you. Its not shown in this game because these guys play together so much that Tanveer already has a read on Farzeen from them playing a billion games together, but against an unfamiliar opponent you often do play in frame, use a lot of nice fast moves (1,2...db2,1...B3...f2...etc.) to lock people up then sidestep to cause a whiff, or find a tendency to sneak in a jump kick, and then nuke, but if they never respect your poke game, they will just die to that plus your heat. I know you are probably talking about this at this level but for players learning Claudio they should understand how important Claudio's small Tekken is to his kit and gameplan.

You brought up an interesting problem especially for intermediate play, which is dealing with Victors and Claudios who use these fast high pressure offenses to set up counter hits and launches. In these matches it seemed like they lost to just hard reads, but it would be interesting to know if there's a more fundamental strategy to handling this type of pressure because even though I face it quite often it still feels almost completely like guess work
Yeah as a claudio player the thing i miss most when i play other characters is his small buttons. The dp and heatsmash are extremely overrated. its his B3 being an extremely consistent 13f mid check, his ws1,2 heavily punishing even the cheapest of lows, 14f mid ch launcher, db21 a meaty dickjab ch string, ff4 letting you run mindgames at -1, top tier whiff punishment, etc. Hes built to play solid. Mulgold and Tanveer are just built different

The "easy" character concept is really prevalent in tekken 8 because you have very high execution characters fighting against characters meant for beginners to learn the game and those characters are equally as strong maybe even stronger in some cases
Yes.. but you also can have high execution stuff and not actually need to use it.. you can play bryan without taunt, mishimas without electrics and they are still good characters
Okay I legit want a structured answer to the "is Bryan Fury easy or hard" thing. I started Tekken with Bryan and I don't think he's the hardest character in the world to pilot outside his intermediate move and combo structure. And I also don't think he's super easy either. Feels like people keep swinging to either extreme when he's like hard in the middle.

If u struggling with it on pad, u will still struggle with it on stick. It’s tells me you’re quite new to fighting games, and u shouldn’t waste money on a stick, if might quit playing fighting games after a year. Like literally the first advice people give new players is to not waste money on a stick or hitbox, after that is pick whatever character u like. Anyways just side your finger from d to Df to f, to do a quarter circle, makes sure you’re doing it on the dpad! Some new players use the sticks on the controller.

Tekken 8 is like the first tekken I took serious to like learn and stuff so rn Im struggling to hit quarter circle moves consistently, I come from like only playing Mortal Kombat games and not a whole lot of characters use quarter circle moves, will definitely keep practicing so I can get somewhat good at hitting Steves quarter circle 1 move. (Yes I decided to main steve like a dumbass) coz when Young me tried out Tekken 5 (granted I just button mashed the hell out of my PSP back then), Steve was like the Coolest character for me coz of his stances. So I will keep practicing and stick to my main Steve even if he hurts my fingers, and I will die on that Hill 🤣
@@shush9860 you need to learn to use the dpad closer to the middle of the pad instead of the outer edge or ends so that your thumb is making less effort to move and to nail the quarter circles quicker and more consistent
Random question guys, but what do you call the moves that require you to quickly input the attack buttons almost like plinking or the ones with intentional delays. An example of the first would be Reinas standing 2~1 and an example of the second would be Reinas B1~1,3(?). Is there even have a term for those kinds of moves?
I call the ones where you're basically plinking brush moves since you're brushing your fingers across the button. I think I got that from somwone else but I don't remember.

its all preference brother. i can do motions no problem on stick, and okay on controller. 5 minutes a day in practice!
