I'm pretty sure we all understand that cranberries are just more convenient you never have to replant them for the entire season and just grab some sprinklers don't have to water and you don't have to plant anymore the rest of the season unlike those pumpkins
sure, but most of those points barely hold up in comparison. Sprinklers? they benefit both. dont need to replant? is 1-3 harvests really worth the small headache of replanting (at least until you become stubborn with seed makers. *sarcasm* tooootally not projecting). Both have benefits, but replanting is countered by harvesting, with cranberries taking more time to harvest overall, exponentially increasing with yield.
@@cullenlatham2366i think their point was that it has a higher rate of profit because you only need to buy the seeds once as opposed to pumpkins whwre you have to eat into the money you made to buy the seeds twice a season
@@viperreal9184 and i am not denying that point, even if it doesnt show the full picture. I was pointing out the "contradictions" and the equivalent factor on the other side to show the difference is much smaller than it first appears. Heck, if we are talking exclusively about profit and the cost of replanting, then we also need to consider the extra yield of mega crops making up for, at least in part, needing to re-buy seeds with the profit from the harvest, even more so when the farm is built around the pattern in which mega crops grow. And again, someone as stubborn as me might not even "re-buy" seeds once seed makers enter the equation, which only makes matters more complicated as you trade a monetary profit cut for a time deficit. The first time restocking seeds will be the worst, but after converting an entire harvest into seeds, you likely already have a full field's worth of backup seeds ready, and continuing the cycle only requires breaking down half or less of the next harvest (in part decided by "failure" luck and just how big your stockpile already is). The time deficit is somewhat offset by the fact where you can prepare the next set of seeds while the current one is growing, but that wont realistically happen until the 3rd harvest in a cycle of building up the stockpile.
Consider: Salmence makes a lot of videos for casual players, not speedrunners. Perhaps pumpkins are good for making money if you're needing a "lot" (by early game standards) very quickly, but from a casual perspective, it's easy to set up cranberries with sprinklers and preserves jars to make lots and lots over time, with very little upkeep necessary. I'm just saying, it might not be an either or situation
exactly! cranberries also make it way easier to save up crops to use in winter and make a better harvest noise. but pumpkins are very satisfying to sell

240 g cranberry seed
20seeds = 4800g
total harvest within 28days no extra rng crop included (200cranberries) x (75g) = 15000g
pumpkin 100g each x 40seeds = 4000g
total harvest within 28 days with no rng included like getting giant crop.
(40 pumpkin x 320g) = 12,800g
but if you're using Jar or kegs, it's better to get the pumpkin, less number , less time.
