Extremely clever.
I am making my very first batch of cold process soaps tomorrow and was going crazy seeing the prices of professional cutters. I put this diy cutter together today and it was so easy to do. Thank you for saving me so much money!!!!
I'm so glad to hear that! I hope your soap turns out great! Wishing you the best. 👏🏻
Brilliant!
this was a great, informative video. i have been cutting my soap by hand, with a kitchen knife...less than stellar results. thank you for sharing!! 💚
Yes, using a knife works but it's pretty difficult to get uniform cuts. I'm glad you found it helpful!
Thank you for this tutorial! I was able to glue a 1x1 scrap piece of wood to my marble cheese cutter by using E6000 glue. The process and the wait time are the same. Only the glue has changed. I also wrapped clear packing tape around the piece of wood. To keep the wood from scratching the soap.
I'm glad it was helpful! I love how you made it work with the marble cutter! Great tip with the tape, too. 👍
Thank you! I need a soap cutter as I’m building up my stash and branching into selling my handcrafted soaps. I need to keep expenses down and this is a perfect way and a huge cost cutter!
I'm glad you found this helpful! How exciting to be moving into selling your soap! 😁
I’m so excited!!!! I JUST ordered this cheese slicer yesterday!!! I was concerned how I can cut 90 degrees! This is AWESOME and AT THE PERFECT TIME!!!
Awesome!!! It's so simple and cheap. I hope everything goes well with your project!
@@SoapAuthority it came last night so you can bet I saved this video! Just perfect!
i was thinking about your design... wouldn't it be easier to take the wood piece that you glued on ..turn it down flat and put a couple screws? more durable?
You could definitely use wood screws instead of glue! You would want to pre-drill the wood to make sure it doesn't split and keep everything aligned perfectly when both pre-drilling and inserting the screws. For me, using wood glue was easier and I'm not worried about durability since I'm only setting a loaf of soap up against it to keep it straight while cutting.
Thank you for this was going crazy thinking how I’m gonna cut my soap better
Yeah, trying to freehand cut really can be frustrating!
Vv,nice 👌👍❤️🌹
Great video! I think it's time to upgrade my cheese cutter. 😊
Thank you! That's a great idea. It's even cheaper when you don't have to buy it. 😁
Thank you dear 🙂🇱🇰
❤️
How has this held up? Can you change the wire if it breaks?
It's held up just fine. Yes, you absolutely can change the wire if it breaks. You just order replacement wires for a few dollars. There's a little screw on the handle that you loosen to do the replacement.
I can't made it..how much costly?
Felicitaciones
Cuál es la medida de los jabones gracias
The pink soap is about 2.625 wide and 3 inches tall ( 6.67 cm wide and 7.62 cm tall).
all good until the wire loosens and stretches and you cannot tighten it enough
Actually, it can be tightened at the handle if needed. Both on the beechwood version and on the marble one. If the wire eventually gets too loose or breaks, replacement wires can be ordered.
That's the exact same cheese slicer I bought & the wire & black codes was loose & crooked when I tried to fix it.. The wire almost too out my eye..🙄
Yeah, sometimes you do have to adjust it a little bit to get it straight. I'm glad it didn't get your eye! I had a wire break and whip me when using a professional soap cutter, so it's good to wear safety glasses even when cutting soap!
0:06 what’s that part for?
@@rossydv Checking that it's 90 degrees with a square and then sanding the finish off the wood where I'll glue the wooden stopper. 😁
