I have started to fast this year and intend on doing more fasting, at least once a month. My fasts are only short though, Friday nights after my last meal and ceasing the following evening at tea time around 6pm. I spend the day of my fast in prayer and in bible study. Fasting definitely please Heavenly Father if we offer the food foregone to the needy poor people.. Not only this act will be a reparation for our sins but gives immense joy that we have appeased the hunger of a human who says ' enough' with a content heart. God did not command people to fast! There are a lot of people who cannot fast without serious medical consequences. I personally know of a 19-year-old who died after trying to fast without food and water for 24 hours. I've also seen small children throwing up because of the same reason!!! 20:39
Obviously you should check with your doctor before you fast. God doesn’t expect you to die for a fast. If you skip one meal that’s a fast. I fast from morning till evening.

Fasting is something we all do, all the time. Even if we don't realize it. We all give up in order to help, even appease those we love and care about. Ĝod is always there, if you give it a chance. Denial of food is not the only Fasting. When we give up anything we would want or even cherish. We softly thank ourselves for the sacrifice to honor those we love. Fasting is much the same way. As we fast a feeling of denial for the betterment of others is a show of humility. This is wonderful, even spiritual. God gave us life. Stop celebrating the creation and try celebrating the Creator.
