The perfect base camp for a hiking adventure. Wow... this unit is impressive! It has EVERYTHING!
I enjoyed the video, great run through, Joe. But am I the only one surprised by the sloppy caulking on the roof?
I do all my cooking and cleaning outside, so a camper with just lounging, sleeping and bathroom areas is a great idea!
Wow this one looks like a winner! Having the optional bed or garage is a great feature and a roof deck too! Would only prefer if the system was all electric vs. Propane.
Thanks. I looking forward to your search for one that our storyteller mode Lt can pull. I’m in need for taking family. Enjoy your videos. Thanks again
My favorite feature on this winne has nothing to do with the exterior or interior...For me it's the upgraded suspension, wheels, axle and ground clearance. This can go where no ordinary trailer, 5th wheel, RV can go. A lot of the roads I drive back into in the Snowy Mountains aren't accessible with normal tow behinds but with this little booger i can get all the amenities of an RV in the most remote places in the wilderness. I'll be keeping an eye on this agile little winne.
I would live in it all year. pull it into an open space timber frame and stone hanger for the winters, and as a bass property dwelling. Best design I've seen in along time.
The price is out of this world for such a tiny trailer.
Everytime I click on one of those trailer reviews the first thing I do now is scrolling the comments section to make sure that's one of those 😅 thanks
Glad you explained about the toilet being able to rotate. Interesting set up.
I like how you refer to a small flat metal platform as a "kitchen." I can't wait to see the luxury master bedroom with an attached bathroom and laundry!
Tow vehicle considerations would have to be decided before a purchase. Perfect size for one to 2 people. Looks to be a good boon-docking rig. Thanks for sharing..........
Awesome little unit. Sleeps 4, easy to heat and cool. Stupid easy to tow, won't suck up a ton of extra fuel. I love it. Great weekender or week long boondocker or state park!
@bbel8129 me? No, I don't work for Winnebago. I wish I got paid to comment...😆 that'd be awesome
Before I clicked the video, I thought maybe we were finally getting you in the Winnebago family 😂 Oh well, great tour and I believe the Hike would great behind your Storyteller 😃 Safe travels guys! Hope to catch up with you soon
My favorite is the fold out couch-to-bed feature. It is so simple with no buttons. Overall, the interior design needs work because it still feels cramped, especially the bathroom and kitchen.
IMHO, the best overall features are: 1) Off road suspension tires 2) fold out bed 3) porch doors 4) length of trailer.
Wish list: 4 season insulation, lighter trailer, bigger & more windows.
Thanks for sharing, guys!
Love the garage as people are so tired of the weak and lame bike racks and all the labor that goes into loading them. Off road ability is huge also.
It's all I need. Perfect!
Thanks for the efficient walk-through.
It’s a good trailer for the right couple.
I wish more manufacturers would include a cassette toilet.
I could see us in one of these.
I would definitely take off one of those seats and add a TV, extra storage and food storage. Otherwise its nice and thanks for the update. ✌️
I’m looking for two fold and I think this would be it. Adventures, but also emergency living. The last 4 years we’ve been evacuated for wild fires, or deep ice freeze (8”+) and though yes moving is an option, it’s the entire state that sees it annually now. Anyway I think this would foot the bill to load up and evacuate and have home comforts, as well as all outdoor fun!
I like it actually! Great for weekends.
What a dope little trailer.
Great idea but I would go all solar. No need to use propane these days. I converted a toy hauler into a mini RV. I store my bed under the countertop. It’s on rails for easy pull out. I have 2500watts of solar and a much larger DC fridge. But I live full time in mine and nomad.
I think for a weekend warrior this little camper would be great, but I bet they want quite a bit for it, and you still have the propane system.
I would need a ramp of some description to get my KTM 1090 adventure r in their. Looks like it might be expensive but I like it Joe, great video.
Nice to see that the manufacturers are building what end users have been building for years to tackle staying off grid and do some off road camping. The bed in the "low" position looks to be almost shoulder high which would kill it for many folks. 58 or so inches is a bit high to climb in and out of bed not counting the memory foam which most users add to make the seating cushions comfy for sleeping. It wasn't mentioned but is the fridge a standard evaporative fridge that eats both 12V and propane to run or the efficient compressor fridge that could run almost endlessly on battery and solar? Love the garage for hiding the mountain or ebikes. Nice unit.
I think the fridge term you’re looking for is ‘Absorption’ style fridge. Can’t say for certain but it didn’t look like there was any fins in the fridge for the heat exchange. I would hope in an RV actually geared for boondocking that they put in a compressor fridge.
Awesome little camper🎉
Took me almost a week to find this channel again after having to change my email.Glad I did . Nice trailer but a little small even for just me.
@@Weretherussos ,thanks hope y'all find the rite trailer for U that will fit ur needs.
Awesome video guys
Looks perfect 4 dirt bikes
There are five of us and dog. That trailer about 30 ft and a real bathroom could be a supercool toy hauler, bike, canoe …nice shot at the “Bascamp”
It looks well thought out.
Not too bad. If we had one, we would base camp it. Christine says she would prefer a teardrop over the Hike. Still not a bad little camper. That batwing awning looked like it was struggling. 🤪🤪
Use as base camp while I go off roading & then come back for supper & sleep after the trail has worn me out! 😂😂
Love the color
Awesome 🤘👍
I like that you can run stuff of the battery.
love it!
Some great ideas but it needs a little finessing… I was particularly impressed with the bench seat bed conversion, so quick and easy 👍
As a 5' 3" woman, pass 60 yrs old and very active, I would not want to have to push my shoulders up to life that bad. I''ve been in physical therapy one whole summer with shoulder issues. Not taking a chance on that again. Looks like this Hiker is for young tall people.
I definitely like the fold out bed system. The cooking area could be in a better place. If I was redesigning this I would take the kitchen sink out and use that space to in large the toilet area as unless your a small child it's a very tight space for squats
Thanks for the great tour but when it comes to these new units, there’s a sucker born every minute!
I'm 6.4 and with a ceiling height of 6.5 , this one is a very rare product that actually works, I don't think the drop down bed is big enough, but everything else looks great
That’s a nice camper
This would be perfect to pull behind our Thor Sequence!!!
Bunk beds good for a family of four! 👍
That’s what the wife and I need !!!
I like it. I wish it were a bit lighter and there was a "non-off road" option to keep the side-wind profile down.
While they don't show this specific option package, other Hike models on the Winnebago website have base MSRPs in the mid to upper $40K range.
I am 5 foot 0 inches tall. I think I really like The Winnebago Hike.
I would use it for off grid camping for exploring the Nevada desert
Like the Truma products
😁 ... thinking of Forrest Gump while watching this ‼
Very nice camper❕👍👍
Neat trailer. I personally would prefer a full queen bed that folds up to side rather than the lift and couches below but that’s me. I’m always hopeful a rig like this will be priced in some form of sanity but the evolution of small set ups with big cool factor tells me it won’t be. Interesting to see when they finalize it.
Yea why you need bench seating for 8? You supposed to roll with your whole crew in this? Terrible use of the little space it has; youre basically just hauling benches around
3:10 Stay strong king. 99.99% of 5'11" dudes would just say 6 foot. I salute you. o7
Well I got my wife by telling her I was 6’1 since she said she’d only date guys over 6’. Figured I can be honest now 😉
I'd live in it at the lake!!
I'd take out the rise bed and the two side couches and turn those into two XL Twin Beds with removable bolster backs to make sofas for day use. That would be good for me.
In that price range you can get one of the three smaller InTech’s. Great quality and features
Nice Trailer. I would like to know more about the suspension and build materials once it is in production
The astute observer will recognize a hardback copy of "Dune" in that small nook, a true indicator of class and sophistication. If you camp AND enjoy epic science fiction, we are already friends.
I want one! I'm not sure I like that particular floor plan though. I'll explore other options of this line. The drop down bed doesn't interest me; it's too high for my ease of access. I wouldn't intend to use it as a serious toy hauler. I would put it to use as a basecamp for fly fishing in the Smokies and Colorado Rockies in backcountry locations as far back as I can get on forest service roads. It looks like it can be easily towed by my FJ Cruiser. It would be perfect for the type of dispersed camping I like to do. As I've gotten older, this would be a great upgrade from my current ALiner Ranger I've been using for my Smokies and Rockies fly fishing trips.
That is the version I was interested in out of the five variants they have. I was wondering why the MSRP was right around $46-50k and the lithium plus all the Truma gear is probably why. I didn't know those things were in there and I like it more knowing that those things are included. For me the deciding factor would be if I can fit in the bathroom comfortable. I don't really like giving up space to a sink when there is a sink outside that you can reach with one step. I do like the shelves in there and the towel bar.
I wish the bed had a second lower position as I think the down position is too high. I do like the couches that flip out of the way.
There is another floor plan that might work better for me which has a single offset rear door and a fixed bunk bed set up I think if I was going to be in there solo with my trike.
With either floor plan I would use this for shorter trips from my hopefully centrally located property which I haven't found yet. I don't think I would live in this exclusively, but I think it would be possible with a storage unit or two somewhere, or if someone was an extreme minimalist. I have too many toys I can't seem to part with. My current trailer is 18 feet, but has no cargo area, but does have a dry bath and an what feels like a lot more room inside. Maybe it's wider.
How about trailer for motorcycle and rod rack with tent for extra sleeping?
No. It caught my eye. I would expect that on a home built van conversion or a construction trailer conversion.
I like it, would use it for deer hunting on public land two tracks. Could easily fit my four wheeler in it. Only issue I forsee is that bed you can push up to the ceiling. It will need to be in the up position to put my four wheeler in there and there is zero chance those shocks and how they are attached to the walls will last long, maybe one or two trips. There needs to be a way to lock that bed into position and where all the weight is taken off those shocks and their attachment points.
A key take away I got from your tour is the GVWR of about 4200 lbs. That is a great weight as so many vehicles with a towing capacity of 5000 lbs will be able to haul this feature packed trailer.
I WOULD LIVE IN IT
Like most everything about it except for the bathroom and awning. Plumb it with a black tank and separate shower no matter how small. Use a conventional awning. I'd consider putting a better (larger) fridge in it also. Before you start putting a price of $45-$50K (my guess) on it, add a few more amenities.
All of the above as far as what to do with it, but mostly camping and hanging out and some day hikes near by! Do you have an idea when they might be available and where? Also, as soon as you have maybe a ballpark as to price, please share!!! I love my Tiger Moth and it's all I need but my wife wants a bathroom! Go figure :)
Length and weight? I read at the website its 6.5 ft frame but does that include the tongue or is it just the box?
Expensive!!!!!
Looking for a basecamp alternative... Thinking of joining a search and rescue team ... looking for a place to congregate out of the weather... sleeping for 2-4 or so... looks great. Too much caulking on the roof imo... looks like a leak waiting to happen. Otherwise I love all the places to tie down gear and the back of it opening for a bike and kayak or other small water craft. Well done... Look forward to the PRICE. :)
It needs a 360* hitch. I love the little thing and will be looking for it to go into production as that would be exactly what I am looking for as a base camp for all of my and my families adventures. It’s perfect, and if not perfect, it’s quite close.
This camper is not meant for families. I've been to many many campgrounds from Northern NH to Yellowstone and I've seen ONE HIKE camper.
A family living in there with a cassette toilet? Will you take turns emptying that thing out, carry it to the dump station? No cooktop inside by the sink? Oh yes, the outdoor cooktop. That's a cop out from Winnebago. Me, being the mom, will be relegated to standing outside in all-weather grilling burgers or whatever, setting up the picnic table (put your jackets on). Nope. I'm out.
Just what i need for the deer lease
Change the back door like a hauler trailer so can be used as a patio with railings. I’ll buy it right of way.
This is one of the first small off road camping / toy hauler style trailers I've been really impressed by. And it's not obscenely priced like 99% of them (if the non FLX versions are anything to go by). I could see myself upgrading from my intech to one of these.
This just misses the weight limits to tow with my Jeep (3500 max). Not sure what the dry weight is, but probably still over that when you add gear in. The drop down bed would be something I'd probably remove. Looks like the loss of headroom would be more of a pain when you could just fold the couches together. I do like the cassette toilet/wet bath for this kind of trailer. I know you said there's no pricing on it yet since it's not really in production. So I'd imagine its north of $35k MSRP. Just a guess. Not a bad idea though. Good review.
Like it ,business
I would use it as a daily home
Because the Ac works with out plumbing in. My choice of a camp trailer unless they have a larger model with a full sized Frig because you can’t get far away if you can’t take much fresh food.
I'm assuming you meant 320ah and not 320 watts for the battery. Even so, that's not enough to run a 120v AC for more than a couple of hours. It's great to have the option for lunch stops, but without a generator or major battery upgrade, you're not getting much use out of that AC off grid.
I'd use it to take my motorcycle camping.
Unfortunately at todays rv and travel trailer prices i probaly cant afford that but i do like the fact that has dual swing out doors on the rear i had been thinking of something along the same lines for my build
Just remember the actual sale price for RVs should be about 20-30% below MSRP
@@Weretherussos man ive been looking at these things all over they keep going up and up theres this one company
(maybe tusca) selling a box for 2000
its literally just a rino/rihno lined box
air streams theyre prices are stupid high only the wealthy could afford them
ive seen other companys coming out
with teardrops and or square drops
and the prices keep going up but not really offering anything to justify the price
thats why building my own travel trailer
is looking like the best option plus no company yet has offered the floor plan that i want
I would love more information about this camper
How much weight can the two hitch hold can l use a slide in dirt bike rack for a 250 pound dirt bike
Thanks for another great vid!! Please, what is your best guess for the how the the charge would last without replenishment for running the AC at night and charging phones and whatnot by day: say if this is parked off grid, in semi shade, for two people in SE TX in August?
I would like to see that one bench turns over and can function as a table top.
neat little trailer. the cassett toilet is the deal breaker though. even a 10 gallon black tank would seal the deal.
How wide is the garage area? I want something that will tow behind my Tacoma that will serve as a camper and carry my bike/sidecar combo.
Me likey!
I'd use it to move my wife into it! She's always saying she needs her space
This seems like a neat use of space. It’s not going to be cheap.
Don't need two beds and I don't like how the two benches sit so close to each other. Is there a way to just permanently remove one of the benches so there's only one?
Cool concept. looks like super cheap execution. love the size, shape, suspension, heater and solar. kitchen is unusable. too many couches. Looks like a cramped bed to ceiling height. bed riser is interesting, but will break soon. KISS. Thanks for the tour MR Russo. But your camera moved away too quickly as you were showing the details. Also, was that a 270 degree awning or someones table cloth blowing in the wind? But seriously, thanks for the review! Intersting camper. I wanted to love it!
I will use this camper as an off-grid home from all society. 😏
