Your 2015 Fantasy Quartet - Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair (2015 International)

- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- The 2015 International Barbershop Convention was all about Stephen Foster, a native son of the event's host city, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The fantasy quartet members YOU selected came together during the Saturday Night Spectacular to perform the Foster classic "Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair."
But not before the guys had a little fun.
TENOR: Tim Waurick, Vocal Spectrum
LEAD: Mike Slamka, Power Play/Crossroads
BARITONE: Tony DeRosa, Keepsake/Platinum/MaxQ
BASS: Jim Henry, Gas House Gang/Crossroads
my fantasy quartet
-ringmasters with martin back :'(
Same. The new bass is great, but I miss Martin. He had to leave because his kids are growing up... once they're big enough, maybe he can start quartetting again.
that hit me way too hard haha. Didler is doing really well, i think its giving Rasmus, Eman and Jakob some really great exposure, their new sound really appeals to me because there is so much talent in their high voices and its brought out more by better blend. Didler is also finding his way, he hasn't won 4 conventions and sang with them for 10 years like Martin, sorry for the rant haha. Martin all the way tho
I miss that hair and that velvet tone! Hopefully he can come back!
"Drink it in, Ladies."
- Dr. Jim Henry, 2015
2015 international was my first time going, competing and getting exposed to all of these performers.
I'll always hold Instant Classic's winning performance in my memory as I watched the other barbershoppers around me start crying during their set.
Tony. Frickin Tony. Even with some of the crossovers, you always hear Mike’s part. That’s a bari.
I don't mind hearing the bari - he's the one making barbershop more complex, after all.
My fantasy quartet:
Tenor : Kipp Buckner
Lead : Rich Knight
Bari : Rob Henry (RIP)
Bass: Jim Henry
crenner07 Look up the gas house gang
SociallyAuquard that’s the joke sir
In a by gone era ... glad I have the Net to enjoy their work.
I think Jim Henry's voice has gotten deeper since the 90's.
I was thinking that too.
"Looks like I need to lose another 50..."
"Mmmmmmm, I'd say more."
lmaooo Jim Henry is a savage
Four guys that really know their fit in a quartet. I actually wish they did more.
A bass clef of Tony D and Jim Henry, aww yeah.
"Only in barbershop would this be anyone's fantasy....Drink it in ladies." Holy crap I laughed my head off on that whole intro with Jim Henry making comedy. What a great sound! Did they do an uptune too?
guibox3 They did not. Since all four men were pretty busy for the week, they only did one song. ^JKG
For the jokes
My fantasy quartet
Tenor: Gary Lewis
Lead: Gary Lewis
Bari: Gary Lewis
Bass: Gary Lewis
Or
Tenor: Tim Waurick
Lead: Tim Waurick
Bari: Tim Waurick
Bass: Tim Waurick
They all sing like angels and are funny too!! That is a fantasy!
2016 International Champions.
Lead: Jakob Stenberg
Tenor: Lester Rector
Bass: Kyle Kitzmiller
Baritone: Jonny Moroni
I'm 22 and I listen to metal alot mostly and I still think this style of music quite popular; more than people know.
Metal is my life but barbershop hits in all the right places.
From another metal musician to another, I made sure my bandmates are aware that I have to balance our band with my chorus and my quartet because barbershop is that important to me.
I'm a metal head and punk rocker, but barbershop is dear to me as well.
Just found this by accident and couldn't turn it off ! Could listen all night. You guys are my fantasy, especially Jim - ever since Gas House♡♡♡♡
Beautiful song. What the words were, I could care less. Just beautiful sound
AMAZING
Jim Henry's voice is awesome!
If they were together they would win the first year together.
WE WANT MORE VIDEOS ABOUT THE FANTASY QUARTET!!!
Sadly they only got together for the 1 song.
You'd be a GREAT LAKE! #MainStreetHumor.
Literally one of the best Fantasy Quartets I've seen. So much fun to watch, all of these guys are legends in their time.
Its like barber-shizzle!
My fantasy quartet would have to be:
Tenor: Tim Waurick
Lead: Kole Kitzmiller
Bass: David Zimmerman
Baritone: Ryan Wisniewski
I can't tell if this is a joke, because Tim and Kohl make some sense, but David isn't a good bass. Just because he can sing a low E or whatever doesn't mean he has the projection and tone.
For the memes obviously. And literally any quartet with kohl as the lead is my fantasy
Lol why David on bass?
David can't be a bass, he would just be laying down the whole time
I understand the other 3 but David on Bass obviously there are better basses out there like for example the bass in Forefront or Signature lol
Amazing! To think they were not together before this. And what a bass!
I have to keep coming back to this, love the song anyway but these guys are superb. The end is matchless.
Great blending ... a pleasure to listen to
Well since people are doing it.
My fantasy Quartet (with no repeats with past fantasy members or two from the same quartet)
Tenor: Paul Saca/Joey Buss
Lead: Chris Vaughn/ Jacob from Ringmasters
Bari: Emmanuel Roll/ Kohl Kitzmiller
Bass: Dan Walz/ Bryan O’Dell
Whoops made an error
Swap Dan and Bryan for the Basses.
Go Timmy go Very very good guy's 1st time ever seeing you perform fantastic keep up the hard work
mine would 100% be:
Tenor - Lester Rector (Four Voices)
Lead - Patrick Haedtler (Masterpiece, Don't Tell Mom, Tenacious Q)
Bass - Dan Wessler (After Hours)
Baritone - Jake Tickner (The Newfangled Four/The Harmadillos/Yes Gary)
Hell yeah. Lester is a freaking beast.
Bravo! Jim Henry is fantastic. Beautiful performance from all.
My fantasy quartet is David Zimmerman, Theo Hicks, Kohl Kitzmiller, and Kyle Kitzmiller
Dude that's a great idea! They'd be an instant classic
Needs more Kitzmiller.
Wait are they brothers
No, just share the same last name by coincidence.
@@joetastic3594 Yes, and their coach, Scott Kitzmiller also shares their last name! What a strange place the world is.
I've had the pleasure of hearing all of them live. Our chorus (Northland Barbershop Chorus) gets the best for our annual show!
They should compete next year lol
Yes, Tony DeRosa's 5th gold medal quartet.
@@lifeontheledgerlines8394 Well he still doesn't have a gold as a bass, right? :D
@@TheKrySHOT Yeah that's true lol
@Wayne Lankenau shut up dummy
I love Stephen Foster's music! His songs pop into my head and start playing sometimes. So, I came to UA-cam and found this awesome rendition! I have also visited the state park in White Springs, Florida.
Loved it! They started with such a laid back vibe that made the video very enjoyable to watch.
Why did they stop doing this
Beautifully done, great singing Fantasy Quartet!
Spain LOved!!! This is art !
My fantasy quartet
Tenor: Tim Waurick (Vocal Spectrum)
Lead: Daniel Cochran (Signature)
Bass: Martin Wahlgren (Ringmasters)
Bari: Theo Hicks (Instant Classic)
No idea if it'd sound good but they're just some of my favorites
Connor Havenaar - those are verrrrrry great choices. Martin and Daniel would have a great blend I think, because Martin has a very bright and forward placement just like Dan Walz. And Tim is just a beast and so is Theo
Theo would be a badass baritone for sure.
@@Wahl95 He would jokingly complain about not having the melody, but would deal with it anyways lol
@@lifeontheledgerlines8394 Actually Theo prefers singing bari!
@@Barberfrog Really? Where'd you learn that from?
My fantasy quartet
T- Todd Kidder
L-Brandon Guyton
B- Bryan Ziegler
Ba- Martin Wahlgren
My fantasy Quartet:
Tenor: Kipp Buckner
Lead: Jackson Niebrugge
Bass: Martin Wahlgren
Bari: Brandon Guyton
My fantasy quartet:
Allen Hatton
Kenny Hatton
Dan Burgess
Rick Staab
BSU all the way!!
My fantasy quartet, probably Realtime.
Thaks for the goosebumps.
Wonderful singers 11/10
Jim with the instant punchlines. Fantastic
my fantasy quartet
Bass- Theo Hicks (lead instant classic)
Lead - Martin (bass from ringmasters)
tenor - Jeff Oxley (bass from Max Q, acoustix)
baritone - Gene Cokeroft (tenor from suntones)
Now that would be interesting 😂
Imagine some sort of application/program that lets you make these wacky combinations. Dream Quartet Creation Kit would be a blessing.
@@jeramisoriano7310 Yes! Also, BHS should have a Tinder-like app that matches you with people who want to find quartetmates.
Also, as Gene has sadly died, maybe try Shane Scott on bari or something? Idk.
Would be amazing lol
@@lifeontheledgerlines8394 wouldn't that be awesome. I would pay MONEY for that lmao 😂😂😂
Phenomenal
love!
My fantasy Quartet:
Gene Cokeroft (Tenor, Suntones)
Rich Knight (Lead, Gas House Gang)
Kohl Kitzmiller (Bari, Instant Classic)
Brett Littlefield (Bass, Masterpiece),
That's pretty similar to mine! Except I would want Martin Wahlgren from Ringmasters on bass.
I kinda want Kohl to have a shot at lead tbh haha
I guess any fantasy quartet will do. Do they have one every year now? How about say, Kip Buckner, John Sasine, Bill Meyers and Jay Giallombardo.
Oh hell no we got the quartet averagers😭
Superb.
That last chord tho
It''s the crime of the century if they only got together for just one song! They are all superb singers and what a treat it is to hear them here together! I especially love the sweetness and expressiveness of Mike Slamka's voice. He is partnered here to perfection by the rest of the fantasy quartet. I wish somebody could persuade them to make some CDs! I first heard Mike Slamka sing in the Crossroads' wonderful performance of "Lucky Old Sun." I suppose most of you are familiar with that stunning performance, but in case you haven't heard it, here's the link for it:ua-cam.com/video/u7mGjSZpdpk/v-deo.html
Mark Porter, you should check out his work with Powerplay as well. He won gold with them as well.
Thanks for that tip--I'll definitely check out Powerplay!
Anyone else here for Tone DeRosa? Such an awesome guy!
WOW :) So fine!
They haven't heard of the word "chasers" where this is our actual fantasy? haha!
What does Jim Henry apologise for at the end?
PCFDD I think he wasn't quite present as he usually is during that last chord which is why they cut it earlier. That's how good they are. They read each other. Eh
***** I listened again and that makes sense, still no need to apologise though :)
Rising2020 Oh yeah, could be that.
PCFDD Also, 4:42 both the Lead and the Bari cut off to give the tenor his solo on "Glow", Jim Henry kept it going for another second and backed off. Not a big deal and well handled
Rene R. A few minor things altogether, all well handled.
My fantasy quartet:
Tenor - David Zimmerman (Instant Classic)
Lead - Jakob Stenberg (Ringmasters)
Baritone -Emanuel Roll (Ringmasters)
Bass - Dan Walz (Signature)
Parker Rognrud I’d replace David with Alex from Lemon Squeezy, but that’s my preference.
Joshy Washy Not a bad choice!
@@joshywashy3453 I might pick either. I like both of them.
Gotta update my choices.
Tenor - Joey Buss (Newfangled Four)
Lead - Anthony Fortino (Midtown)
Bass - Dan Walz (Signature)
Bari - Nathan Johnston (Double Date/Quorum)
Maybe switch parts between Jacob and Emmanuel
Are they doing this again next year?
This is amazing! Where can I get this arrangement?
quality
Is Tony actually a baritone, or a tenor?
Here is my fantasy quartet
Tim waurick, Jakob sternberg, theo hicks, Brandon guyton
Who's gonna sing bass?
That's a quartet of great leads right there :D. But I'd put my money on Brandon for the bass part. That guy can rock anything like it's nobody's business!
To add to that I would say that the alignment would be:
TENOR: Tim Waurick
LEAD: Jacob Sternberg or Theo Hicks
BASS: Brandon Guyton
BARI: Theo Hicks or Jacob Sternberg
I know this is like 3 months later but I think Theo would be a great baritone
@@Jakeroo767 he's actually filled in for Brandon in Crossroads before when Brandon was in the hospital! (And indeed, was superb.)
My fantasy quartet
Fred Farrell/Rick Taylor
Tim Reynolds/Patrick Haedtler
Gary Lewis/Clay Hine
Martin Wahlgren/Don Barnick
1:25
👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
what are the medals on their pockets?
Chorus medals
Why did he say sorry?
Isn't it incredible! Beautiful performance, and the first thought he has is, "Sorry." Perfectionism bring us this kind of performance quality.
Directed at Tony, probably about the joke.
@@dancalkins97 I originally watched this video about 6 or 7 years ago and I come back to it every couple months. Ever since I first watched it I wondered what on earth he could be apologizing about and now it seems you’ve finally cracked the case I can’t believe that never occurred to me LOL
Probably, because he slipped up a bit on dawns 4:34, and wasnt perfekt on the tag.
The higher the pitch, the more animated the singer.
Trade Mike for Gary Lewis after Quorum wins
I can get behind all the votes but honestly I would just like to see Joe Connelly on lead. Get some of that personality of his in there.
I want Brandon.
This goes to show you how Difficult Barbershop is......All gold medalist, but they don't blend well
Now imagine if these guys decided to compete!
