Thora jada nhi bhai yeh bhi kam hai.. just read about the history of Tatas ...they have built tata memorial hospital, Tata cancer hospital (patients are treated free of cost), iisc bangalore, India's first' Steel plant, taj hotel chain ( India's first 5 star hotel), air india express was tata airlines until govt of india nationalised it in 1953,TCS (India's biggest software company). He was one of the biggest philanthropists in the world. The list goes on but I could only remember these things off the top
Yeah the only thing is id say the whole tata group including Ratan tata have contributed immensely for the growth of our country.
And lately tatas have also entered the semiconductor and defence manufacturing sector.

At age 70 when this interview was done he was still very alert and intelligent. 16years later When I saw photos of him bent over his metal frame emerging from the hospital it look very sad and game over soon came.
I admired him tremendously and he always batted well for his group. He always went full out for group that bears his family name.
Very important interview. Needs more views. Not everything went their way in several states but he could overcome. Hr took the Nano factory out of Bengal and transferred to Gujarat.
In some places his managers were stabbed. Well that is bad. For the 11killed in the hotel they received full salary as if they worked until retirement. Few employers would do that. There are minuses but many more pulses.
In recent times only AJP Kalam and Ratan Tata endeared themselves to the common man. By sheer coincidence both were bachelors.

Maharashtra had similar political setup but made different choices and decisions.

This interview reveals how different things would have been if only Mamata prioritized the welfare of common Bengalis over her personal political gain. Look at the weary condition of Bengal now from every aspect, even after her rule of over 1 decade & a half!

Certainly. Mamta Bannerjee was very much supported by central government which made Buddha dev babu step back to stop the aggetation for state peace and Very tactfully Modi taken it to Gujrat, indirectly encouraging Nandi gram unrest to fail both govt. to pave for B.J.P. in West Bengal. It's a killing of two birds ( mamta and Mr. Buddha Deb Bhattacharaya) in one shot and then check mate by taking the project to Gujrat. If we look back to the past, there has been many MNC'S who has successfully started their business in West Bengal during Mr. Jyoti Basu's rulling time, as Mamta Bannerjee wasn't so active as now.

West Bengal's place in indian economy would have been different, so is the life of many common man, if this project had successful.
This is actually not acceptable to both Trinamul and B.J.P government because their actual intention is to continue both of their monopoly by bribing people with marely 1000 /2000, funding monthly through different schemes treating and tagging these people like beggar, depriving from the right to live with dignity without any obligations and Bengal failed to understand this conspiracy. On the other hand rest of all other States are focused to their industrial growth and so is their people.
