I ran for 2 hours straight yesterday. Slowly. I will do this every week for a few months and hopefully one day I ll muster the courage to sign up for a marathon.

2 hours straight!! That’s amazing!!!! You’ve 100% got the mental resilience to run a marathon ❤️

Look at you, Emily! That is so so amazing, on your feet for FOUR hours. Well impressed. And look at all these comments of others you continue to inspire. Slow(er) runners run the world! ☺️

So nice to see someone running my pace and sharing openly. 30k is also my farthest to date and it also took me 4 hours. Presently recovering from chemotherapy and an even slower still. Well done persevering!
Also highly recommend guava blocks much nicer than gels. Nakd bars work well for me too

I just stumbled across this video and it’s refreshing to see an honest beginner marathon runner vlog. You should be proud of this training run - you just ran 30km! It’s a huge ask to train for a marathon. I am also training with an injury so a slow runner and there are good runs bad runs and a lot of doubt!
P.s My period wipes me out and a couple of runs was a real slog and felt faint, but out of your control. So I make sure I’m well fuelled big breakfast 2 hours before the run and on the run water and sugar drinks like lucozade and gels.)

I'm trying to get back into running after taking a two-year break and gaining quite a lot of weight. Your videos help me to stay motivated and not give up even when it feels like I'll never get back into shape. Seeing you run 30km is so impressive no matter the pace!

Great effort. Don’t underestimate the build of residual fatigue, it’ll probably be affecting you more than you know. I was meant to do 34k on my plan yesterday but had to call it quits at 24k cause I was so drained, so I’m fighting that battle myself! Good news is we will be so much fresher on race day after the taper, and faster paces will feel just as comfortable. Keep going 👏🏻

    • @Runswithemily
      @Runswithemily  6 місяців тому

It’s crazy how much all those miles add up and take a toll on your body, even if you feel pretty fresh just before the run. Looking forward to my taper which starts next week

👌🏻👌🏻 perfect! your first 30km, take pride!! i've got to go through your back catologue as i've just discovered you and think you're my kinda person. Honest, refreshing and my pace (ie totally relatable!)
If you don't already know about them, try Luchos Dilitos, they are great at a quick hit of energy and I find them really easy to eat on the go (guava sugar bars, nice tasting and good sugar).
But, getting nutrition right is really difficult, some days I can get it on point and others not, it's a tough beast to crack but trial and error is the way to learn what you might need and able to stomach. Great work! x

You're so sweet and have just watched two of your videos.
Love watching a runner tacking a Marathon for the first time.
The RUNNA APP Is amazing and I've been using it to train for a 105 mile run (currently 15 weeks into 16 week 50KM Ultra Program before changing to the longer plans)
Make sure you stay strong, and keep moving forward.
If there's anything that others have taken from me during a new distance is to just think about the step you're taking right now and not the ones you have a head of you.
You just keep saying "this is the best step I can take right now and this next one is the best step i can make right now"
If you ever want any information or help feel free to message and I will do what I can ^.^
    Stay strong, you've got this
