New subscriber. Been to Cape Coral twice, and just got on a waiting list for a new house. I will retiring there next year. I will be binging my 19' center console. So far I have only watched 3 of your videos, and was wondering how long it takes to get to the islands you are going to?

Hi there! Congrats on the upcoming retirement. Very exciting. I leave out of Burnt Store Marin a lot which is just north of Cape Coral, and it’s a pretty straight shot. I can leave the beach at the northern part of Cayo Costa, and be back in my car at the Marina in just under an hour. Pineland Marina on Pine Island would probably be the shortest trip, followed by Burnt Store Marina and then Burnt Store Boat Ramp (different from the Marina and is about 15 minutes south in Cape Coral and has a longer trip through the canals. About 20 minutes worth of no wake zone. There is a good app, called Navionics, that I use for navigation and it will give you a good idea of how long it takes to get from one point to another. Good luck and let me know if I can ever be of assistance! Thanks for subscribing 👍🏼

Time will tell. The weather, water, sunshine, and overall high quality of life in Southwest Florida isn’t going anywhere so I suspect that people aren’t going to want to stop moving here, but I do think we are in for a correction nation wide and some areas will get hit harder than others for various reasons. It’s also a double edge sword, in that people who bought recently at high prices, were also able to sell their homes at higher prices. As prices continue to drop, people who are selling will be selling their homes for less too. Generally in real estate if you are selling one house and buying another right away, it all comes out in the wash. There is some arbitrage to be had when it comes to different locations, but that’s a risky game to play. My thought process is find a place you wanna live and move there…
