Thank you for sharing-I am old enough to be your mom and have practiced herbals and homeopathy for years and you inspired me to make my elderberry syrup and sage honey for the upcoming season. Your words of encouragement and love shine through-I am grateful to have found you!
oh my, thank you! I felt a little teary when you talked about just the relief of having your go tos that you feel good about and confident in. 😅 it all can be quite confusing and overwhelming. Anyways, great information! Really appreciate it.
It really can be so mentally exhausting trying to figure out the “best” route, whatever that may be. 💕 I’m glad this video was helpful. Thank you so much for watching. ☺️
I loved this video. It was so real but also inspired me to consider how I’m taking care of myself this season. I have a terrible immune system but I haven’t been working on it either. I’m definitely making some elderberry syrup ( they grow wild around here) and the Mullen tincture. I’m also going to go to the natural grocery and get some better vitamins. I really enjoy your channel. Thank again ☺️
I hope this year goes easy on you. 💕Good call getting a head start with a trip to the natural grocer. 👍🏼 That’s so cool that you have wild elderberries! We only have the red elderberries in our yard and there’s so much conflicting info as to whether or not they have the same medicinal properties as the black ones so I’m not going to waste my time trying to fight the birds for them. 😅 Thank you for watching! Stay cozy and healthy. 😊💕
Last year I had "that virus." It wasn't bad enough to get the nasty prescription, just like a severe head cold - coughing, sneezing, watery eyes, couldn't breathe, etc. I made a "flu bomb" hot drink before bed. I woke up the next morning feeling so much better! I could breathe, cough was minimal, any I had my energy back! We also keep arnica gel around for those bumps and bruises. Natural remedies are definitely worth a try. I just started a batch of fire cider for this cold season, and I plan to give some of your preparations a try too! Thanks for the info!
That’s awesome you bounced back so quick! I got “that virus” as well at the beginning of the summer and I had one bad day where I was couch ridden (I was ok with it, since I’m pretty sure I haven’t had a sick day like that since the early 2000’s 😅). My rapid immune boost tincture and some fire cider had me functioning again the next day. This is all reminding me that I need to add making fire cider to my to-do list for Fall. 🔥 What do you add to yours?
17:15 It would be great to mix up that electrolyte powder in water and freeze it in popsicle molds. Back in the day, my mom had to give me crushed ice when I had a stomach bug because I couldn't drink water when I was extremely nauseous.
An electrolyte popsicle is a great idea! Maybe even with some coconut water. 😱 Also thank you for sharing the crushed ice trick. I’ve never thought of that. Brilliant! I feel like your comment may save us someday down the road. Thank you!! 💕
@@SimplifyingTheSatherns Look at that... we bounce our experiences and ideas off each other and come up with the holy grail of hydration! My mom is the genius behind the crushed ice when nothing else would do. I think she put ice cubes in a freezer bag and went at it with a meat tenderizer or hammer. I also tolerated small sips of apple juice but that's not as common to give kids these days. It was a better option than Kool-Aid and Tang though!
I can hear it now, “Holy Grail Hydration: Electrolyte Popsicles coming to a store near you”.😅 My mom’s go to was always Ginger Ale. I do the same for the boys, but I get the kind that’s sweetened with stevia and not yee ol’ Canada Dry haha.
I love to brew the mullein with my black tea when i make sweet tea! As well as any others herb i am trying to get in me. Such as red raspberry (before my cycle especially) or Nettle tea when I have had too much gluten (I can’t handle processed gluten well at all!) or too much processed or greasy food in general. Because I won’t always remember to take a tincture but who doesn’t like iced sweet tea?😂
MULLEIN IN SWEET TEA IS SUCH A BRILLIANT IDEA!!! It really has a pretty neutral flavor that I imagine doesn't really impact the flavor at all. I'll have to try that. Thank you for sharing that! 💕
30:49 listen iPhone photo memories makes me jealous of myself!😂 I look back and im like wow! I was so put together! Than I remember that was for about 2 seconds or maybe two weeks…😅
HAHA! The iPhone memories sometimes make me jealous of my past self here and there, particularly the Aubrey that was once upon a time addicted to working out and eating healthy. 😂
