TPiR 10/23/09: 3 Strikes Returns with the Harder Rules (+), Lexus Convertible
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 жов 2009
- Not too surprising, really, there are three strikes back in the bag...at least the right type of car is back in the game. In fact, $47k is great for a daytime version of this. We had an unlucky playing today but I think it is very possible to get to a 2 strikes, 4 numbers right (the 50-50 all-or-nothing draw) this season.
My senses tell me another "Big 3" will be returning soon! Basically every playing of a Big 3 is clip-worthy, so I should be getting nearly if not 100% of these up this season. - Розваги
This is the original 3 Strikes with the 3 Strike chips. They switched it later during Bob's era to 1 strike chip picked 3 times = 3 strikes. Now it seems they went back to the original 3 Strike chips.
That One Strike rule in the bag was the best they need to bring that back it was so easy.
@@benjaminclark6762due to how long the game takes they probably aren't going to do that but I wish they did
You should put up the epic fail in Cliffhangers from this episode. Man she STUNK!!!
Winning this game is tough enough with only one strike in the bag because the prizes are so valuable that arranging the number correctly is never that simple
Dice Game also returned. We rarely ever see that game anymore.
And the 5 numbers are back in the bag again!
Why do you think they changed it back to the three strike tags back in?
It's always the iron law that a game gets harder as you play it.
Even with perfect play, meaning you guess the number's position every time, probability of winning this game is about 37%.
Add a product pricing game or two that if won a strike can be put back into the bag. That's the problem, strikes are permanent while missed numbers always go back in the bag.
Well, they changed the rules many times because of timing (in case you didn't realize, game shows and all that cost MONEY to tape). Yes, it's hard, but hey I like it hard
@maddog015: this isnt' technically 3 stirkes + because the car price would have to be six digits instead of five...
I would say the "Big 3" now would be Golden Road, 3 Strikes & Pay the Rent
"Credit Card" is being refurbished.
Maybe also to speed the game up a bit. As I recall, there were some timing issues with this game last season that put it on hiatus.
1 of my favorite mini games played for a new car 🚗
Drew made a shoutout to Canada! Awesome!
This was the reason why I hated this game. I now I know it's a fact they actually brought the 3 strike rule back I never want to see this game again!
This game takes a while to play
Mike Richards, We Need More 3 Strikes, No More Stack The Deck, That Game Needs To Retire, it's horrible like On The Spot.
This game takes forever to play and what is the point playing this game when most people seem to lose this game.
Yeah
I wished they offer some little bit of money to walk away and to forget about the car.
He hasn't done an audience entrance since Season 36; and he only did that one entrance (and as you may have guessed, Golden Road was played that day). Ever since then, should Golden Road be played first and he enters through the doors--they set up the "road" during the first One-Bid.
4:33 A “3” is the first number?!? For a Lexus?!
Makes sense... it's a luxury car. They've played it for luxury cars since 1993.
With this game's return, we have now eight unplayed pricing games. They are:
"Barker's Bargain Bar"
"Check Game"
"Clearance Sale"
"Credit Card"
"Gas Money"
"Golden Road"
"Triple Play"
"2 for the Price of 1"
Clearance Sale is gone, dude
I know that now. This was written over a decade where I didn’t know anything then
@@systemoperator It's cool. The things you learn :)
For your information, Barker's Bargain Bar was renamed to Bargain Game in season 37, due to the fact that Bob Barker no longer hosts the show
The bargain game, check game, gas money, golden road, triple play, and 2 for the price of 1 are still played to this day.
Actually, "Pathfinder" used "The Bean Stalker" that playing.
@agentcak That also explains why they persistently kept showing "That's too Much" for a car. The odds are not that great compared to hole in one, golden road, any number, or many of the other car games.
Drew: "This is one of my favorite games."
Uh...didn't he ask the game to be removed because he didn't like how tedious it was?
after taxes what does she get? a bill for the gas?
Three Strikes needs to be played more often, here's my idea on how the game should work, if it's played for a regular not too expensive car it should have the 1 strike rule, but for the expensive cars that can have the 3 strikes in the bag.
cutemimi25 That wouldn't be a bad idea. But if it went the old way with playing inexpensive cars and mix it with expensive cars, this would be a winner again.
I personally think that, if a strike card is drawn, you guess the value of an item. If you are within $5 or less, the strike card is put back in the bag and it doesn't count for that attempt. This can happen twice before you HAVE to take it.
@Sheldon Cooper They could always edit it to shorten the gameplay.
They should bring back Keep or Give, Hit Me, the Gallery Game, Double Digits, Mystery Price and/or Professor Price! I wonder how Drew would introduce himself to that mannequin...
First, Rich no longer calls him the "Star of the Price is Right", and I miss the audience entrances.
Well the price is right was affected by the COVID 19 virus 🦠 which is why there are no more audience entrances:-( and of the show's many mini games cliff hangers and plinko were affected by it the most!
I think they should also bring back Super Saver and Buy or Sell
1 strike and 1 strike only in the bag, and the first name is for free, that's what I would do.
I don't think the first number shouldn't be given away because then its unfair.
Amber - 🔥
if they wanted to make it harder to win they would've returned strikes to the bag after they were picked...then i would say you have a better chance at finding the lost city of atlantis than winning a car in 3 stirkes...
The thing is, with 3 strikes, it feels just way too luck-based.
4:36, the new "NO" graphic.
@trivia202003 They changed a "Gas Money" rule in its first season. At first you had to pick one price & hope it's the car. Then you pick the others one by one. Now you just pick them & avoid the car price. I like the original rule better.
What about "Hole In One (Or Two)"? I love that game as well. :) ANYTHING is better than "10 chances" because all of the contestants are too stupid to realize EVERY PRIZE ALWAYS ENDS IN 0! It's so frustrating watching that game. LOL!
This game harder to win because it's not a $20,000 Kia they are playing for.
yo is it just me or did the stage get alot smaller?
How was this harder? It looks like the same game to me.
More chances to lose with 3 strikes inside the bag.
This game and That's Too Much are by far my least favorite car games.
I don't like "That's Too Much," myself.
@WayoshiM They it made it harder again cuz the cars are more expenisve and they dont want wanna give #$%^ away that easy. I was so pissed off
@siriusxm89: hi lo is way harder imo...i haven't seen it won since season 18 or 19...
The announcer sounds like a "Puker"!(as we call 'em in the radio biz).
Cool
Scott is my friend woot.. go scott. :D I have vids of him dancing on my youtube
It's 2021, that tv would be worth less than $300 lol
Good
Drew calls it tedious and boring.
So the new rule was make it impossible to win...seriously
The harder rules suck!
what the fuck. the odds are soooooo against the player in this version. that is so fucked!
Undone by early strikes and bad guesses
What was the rule change?
+FireStormBaller it was that before one strike was in the bag not 3... when the one strike was found it was placed back in the bag this made it much easier to win. but, then it was played regular priced cars. after the harder rule the cars got more expansive.
WASP X ORB
Thanks.
I'd rather play let em roll for a economy car...
I figured out that the chances of winning is something like 0.22%
It depends largely on what numbers you know and how well you use the process of elimination.
So its pretty much unwinnable unless someone knows their car prices.
DAMN, THAT'S MESSED UP... (I mean WHY would you show someone who DIDN'T win)? All the OTHER Videos I've seen (until THIS one) were WINNERS!! I thought ALL of the TPIR VIDEOS were of contestants WINNING (LOL)
I'm glad she didn't win the car
Why?
Omg I can't believe they actually booed when he showed the strikes like some bunch of 5 year olds, that's so cringey...
God I hate this game with a passion. Whoever had the bright idea of bringing back the old rules for this game needs to be drawn and quartered.
1269RedJester But by the same token, the cars got more expensive at this point. I remember watching a Thanksgiving TPIR episode where a contestant was doing the 1-strike-in-the-bag format for a Ford Expedition which was about a $35K vehicle at the time (this was, like, 2004 or so). That contestant still lost, and I think the board was blank to boot.
Point is, regardless of the format this game is hard AF to win. If you can't win with 1 strike in the bag to start, you pretty much have no chance with 3. Unless you get lucky with the pulls and guesses, that is.
Rich Fields' successor needs to be...ooooooh! >:( I CAN'T STAND GEORGE GRAY!!
@@Angie2343I like George Gray just fine
