Cool updates. I still love the last update where you can create masks like persons, sky, and background with just a click. Before that, I had to manually make a matte with the brush and now it is one click and I can mask out things. This blur will come in handy as well. Nice to see them integrating more AI stuff and the depth map is great to see, that they think about small details like how focus works. The key- as you said, is to not go too much with it. No more than 50 percent is a good rule I believe too 🙂
It's actually an issue with your computer, I have updated Lightroom for years and it never asks for a restart. Even when a new version for example Ver 12 - Ver 13 (LR2023 to LR2024) it does not ask for a restart. When you open Lightroom it will ask to update the Catalog File (not for incremental updates but for full updates) Most likely it's a graphics adapter issue, but since you are on a Mac you might have to buy a new one, on a PC you just buy and install a new video card.
Serge, you have the ear of Adobe.....feedback regarding the Masking Tool....it allows for you to Add or Subtract from a created mask....but I believe they missed an OBVIOUS one....to Add or Subtract another already created mask.

I have an important question. Sony A7 IV has added an update to ver. 3.00 The question is whether this version supports RAW files from Sony. Lots of pastries and complaints about their decrees. Does anyone have this camera and LRm in the new version?

Lens blur would be more useful if it could add some focal length compression at the same, looks weird when things are just blurry with no compression

I agree, I love the mask feature. What's even better is the point color is available in a mask!
