With a little practice, making your own cables is a walk in the park and a great way to cut down on pedalboard clutter😎 Like, comment, and subscribe for more how-tos like this one!
Is he really using the 2524 for the pedal board patch cables? Or the 2319? I want to make my own instrument cables for my guitar getting to the board, and then my own patch cables between the pedals. Between the Sweetwater videos im confused at which bulk cable to order for each purpose.
Man! I have been trying to find a video for soldering these pancake plugs for *YEARS*!! You have *NO* idea how many I've destroyed :/!! This is *PERFECT*; thanks!!!
@@therangersinger it’s funny - I kind of thought the same thing at first but the more I watched the more I learned. Maybe I’m just tuning out the crap. This one is short, clear and directly on point.
Why am I sometimes no getting signal or effect from my delay and/or chorus pedal? I have power and guitar output signal. When I turn on those pedals the light is lit but no effect?
Question/ why do I sometimes get Great clean sound with module (reverb, chorus) pedal but get muffled distortion sound? Or sometimes it’s viscera. 🤷🏻♂️. Is it cable? Amp? Never could solve this. I want great sound from both consistency.
OK you lost me at Pancake Plugs. WAY too Big and wide for my use. Better options for me. But you give great advice on many things and I try to catch your video's each week. Just try using pan cake plugs on the Strymon pedal's stereo in/out inserts. I'm all ears.

Thats Right, Solder Your Connections.
& Speakers Connections +/- Too!
I just made my first cables a couple of weeks ago. They work, but I wish I'd seen this first. Awesome vid!
This man too smooth with it 🙊
"The Kiss Of Death" I never knew! Thanks Mason.
I’m soldering my patch cables just as this popped up
There's not one piece of knowledge or tutorial Mason gives that I don't get something out of
The guy is a jackass.

What type of solder would you recommend. I typically use 60/40 flux cored stuff. Am I on the right track?
So you don't try to put the wire through the holes on the tabs? Just solder to the sides of them?
Can you use a hairdryer for heat shrink?

I was expecting the rig doctor intro but I realized this is Sweetwater, sorry doc🤣
The link to the items used in this video doesn’t work it just leads to the main sweetwater page
lol, i'm lazy, i shrink the tubing with the upper part of the iron. i also hate when i forget to string on the tubing before soldering.
Great video Mason. How do you know which part of the cable goes to which solder point of the plug?
Oh yeahhh
I really want to try this, but I’m afraid I’ll screw something up. Is there anything I could do to mess it up?
