My dad was interviewed for B1/B2 non-immigrant visa. His visa application was refused and gave back his passport and gave him 221(g) yellow slip saying "You are required to return to the Embassy for interview". What does this mean? No additional docs requested though. Are we going to wait for a call from the US Embassy before going there or we can go there depending on the schedule as stated on the slip?

I had aproved (in the the past) more than 6 visas for seamans.But few days ago i was rejected with 221g administrative processing without any explanation.All required documents and garant letter from company i had but reason for rejection i didn't get. Also i find some statment from official website of the US State Department that said during the last year, 34,03 percent of requests from Montenegro were rejected. Can you please tell me what are my chances to get that visa. i never had any issues with law all my life .thank you

My father's case IR5 stucked at Mumbai consulate. The administrative processing, 221g, letter says that most cases are resolved within 3-4 months. My father had served in Army, he was asked to fill a questionnaire in email after the interview. We have 22 days left for the completion of 4 months. The date has changed twice when I checked the status of the visa online, but it still shows refused. We have been going through unwanted anxiety since June this year. My father,80, needs care. I did a drop box application for h2b work visa, I was quality for interview waiver, I was refused under 221g and am now requested for a in person interview. Could this be bad? I dont know what to expect. This is my 4th time traveling on h2b and for the last 2 years I was qualify for interview waiver and didnt have to go in person.

I have been waiting for 18 months now under S221g. Cape Town office for a B1/B2 visa.
A mandamus lawsuit may make sense in that case.

Mandamus would be the strongest solution. SOrt of that, have you tried enlisitng help from your local congressperson?

I wouldn't read too much into this. Doesn't neccasarily mean your approval is in jeopardy.

In that context, refused frequently means delayed, not denied.
