  • The Maspalomas’ Dunes Natural Reserve is located near the Atlantic Ocean, on the touristic town of Maspalomas de San Bartolomé de Tirajana, south of Gran Canaria. The reserve occupies around 400 hectare and has three ecosystems: El Palmeral, named after the amount of palms it holds, Maspalomas Pond, and the Dunes. The Maspalomas Dunes are an authentic sea of golden sand that covers part of the south of this island where many surfers come to. This site is visited by thousands of tourists every year, and it’s a must see spot if you’re passing by Gran Canaria. This sea of dunes is highlighted by a succession of mobile sandy dunes that might reach 10 meters of height, modeled by the wind.
