Y'all this was a GREAT TOPIC. I got summoned😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂and we ended up watching "Subservience" on Netflix. I really liked the discussions on the villain origin story and not conforming to societal norms makes others uncomfortable. Sometimes the perpetrator becomes the victim and wants sympathy from the world. If you keep poking a grizzly bear and that bear mauls the $h!t out of you and rips off your entire face, who was in the wrong? Just like those tourists who go to Yellowstone and try to get close to the bison and take selfies and end up getting gored or unalived, are the animals the ones at fault? Imagine being in your OWN lane minding your OWN business in your OWN personal little bubble and someone keeps coming into your personal space and intentionally stepping on your toes. You keep enjoying trying enjoy yourself and you try to keep the good vibes and keep the peace so you let that person slide. However, if that person continues to come into your lane, and stepping on your toes, are you then wrong if you then respond by amputating their whole foot or whole leg? I know y'all know that saying "Run up and get done up". I know for sure I cannot be in public and just go start instigating things with people. I don't know HOW those people will respond and I KNOW I could potentially lose my life. I'm glad I know that and how dangerous and cruel it can be out here that's exactly why I mind my own business and stay in my own lane and do not go out antagonizing people. It's a life lesson many of us need to learn. I know y'all can relate because we grew up in the 90s in similar environments and we know it's NOT sweet in these streets.
The part about not following societal norms is real!!! We were trained to be followers and accept the status quo. Some of us didn't drink that Kool Aid and the program didn't work on us. We will do our own thing regardless of what everyone else is doing. Where others walk that straight line we zig zag. We do what we want to do and yet we don't expect others to do what we do. We can all have our opinions and belief systems, it's when we TRY to impose those beliefs, opinions and ideologies on other people is when it becomes a problem. That's why I enjoy other non conformists in society because we stay in our perspective lanes and aren't worried about what other people are doing. We're too engaged in our own pursuits and fulfilling our duties for our loved ones. I have the most open minded and free spirited people living abroad. They knew how to enjoy life and had a different perspective on how they viewed the world. None of them were worried about other people's personal lives. It was reverse culture shock coming back home to some very close minded individuals who had only one way of looking at the world.
A lot of people fear the unknown and don't like and are uncomfortable with things and people they cannot predict or control. I known some people WISH they had the audacity and courage to exactly what they want to not giving a $h!t what anyone had to say about it. It takes boldness and courage to live freely. I wish more of our men and young men in society had OGs, uncles, dads, cousins and friends, to learn from and show them the ropes.
